Erica Jo Robinson: The Inexorable Fighter
Erica Jo Robinson is just a Jersey girl, living in VA. She's an ordinary woman, called to do extraordinary things, but her calling did not make her life any easier.
Erica's been through it. When I said she's been through it, she BEEN THROUGH IT! She is a stage 4b adenocarcinoma (Neoplasm of Appendix) survivor, ironically it seemed when her life was beginning. She was close to death. She was living so well that she felt no symptoms of cancer that she could recognize.

After surgery, recovery was lonely and arduous, but in the moments she would have the clearest picture of yourself - her true self. In this interview, Erica shares all of this and more! She even made me tear up and I don't get THAT vulnerable on camera.
Ms. Erica Jo Robinson is a best-selling co-author in the H.E.R Story T.O.O. Anthology book collection by Carolyn Wilson, an aspiring public speaker, and point of light.

Jalisa Hardy is a guest that I will always remember. From conception to 30, she went through it. The trauma she experienced, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy!
In the first half of the episode, Jalisa talks about how doctors told her mother that she would be born with a fused throat and esophagus and no stomach. Her mother didn't buy it. Transforming Pain into Growth: A Journey of Accommodation and Healing
While watching a college couple on "Miseducation," the essence of Piaget's theory was beautifully captured. Assimilation, as the girlfriend explained, is the process of changing our realities to fit us. Accommodation, on the other hand, is about changing ourselves to fit our realities.
In that fleeting moment, it hit home: I'm currently facing a moment in life where my reality shifted dramatically, leaving me grappling with change. I found myself at a crossroad, torn between assimilating my new reality or accommodating my own self to fit it. It's a pivotal choice that can define my path forward.
For me, that moment illuminated the shadows of my own past. It was a stark realization that I had been carrying the weight of anger and hurt from my relationship with my parents. Like many, I had the choice to assimilate these negative emotions into my life, allowing them to shape my present and future. Or, I could embark on a journey of accommodation – changing myself to fit my new reality, one of healing, forgiveness, and emotional freedom.
Choosing accommodation wasn't easy. It meant confronting the pain and anger that had long defined my relationship with my parents. It meant acknowledging that healing required me to change, to shed the heavy burden of resentment, and to open my heart to forgiveness and understanding.
In this episode of "Unloaded and Uncovered," I've delved into the profound concepts of assimilation and accommodation, inspired by a serendipitous encounter on Netflix. I explored the transformative power of accommodation – the choice to change ourselves to fit my new reality. It's a choice that can lead us from a place of pain to one of healing and growth.
I want to leave you all with this, my dear listeners. As we navigate the twists and turns of our own lives, may we all find the courage to accommodate, to let go of the past, and to embrace the transformative power of change. Remember, it's never too late to embark on a journey of healing and forgiveness, and to change ourselves to fit the beautiful realities that await us.
Thank you for joining us on this heartfelt exploration. Until next time, keep unloading and uncovering the secrets of your own hearts and minds.

Update: Where Have I Been?
Fear of Success? Not anymore.
In this episode, I talked about my fear of success and why I feared it so much. If you didn't hear my latest episode about me talking about building a success tribe, please go listen to it.
I did discuss a little more about my success tribe, however, I wanted to discuss fear of success and where it started for me.
At the end of the episode, I welcomed all success that is coming my way. I realized years ago that I had to want it and believe that I deserved it. I hope this helps someone in the long run.
Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoy this episode!
Happy New Year & Building My Success Tribe
Happy 2022 everyone! I hope you all brought in the new year in a magnificent way! I am wishing all of you wealth, health, prosperity, joy and much more!
This episode is super short. I wanted to make it super short because I originally had something planned but I decided that I did not want to start off the year THAT heavy!
I didn't go in-depth about why I feared success but I will definitely talk about that later on this year. I heard this phrase "success friends" so I decided this year I will find my success tribe - those that are way more successful than I am and doing more than me. I want those type of people in my life - no matter the background.
That's the wave that I'm on and that is what 2022 is about - being inexorable and building my success tribe.
Ifa Reading with Baba Victor
Hands down, this was the best episode I published all year!
This is the last episode of 2021.
Last year around this time, well a few weeks prior to the end of 2020, I got a spiritual reading from a Babalawo, who practices the African religion, Ifa. You will hear the reading I received in this episode.
I had this in my phone for a year now and wanted to release it but was super hesitant. A lot of people do not believe in things like this because they deem it to be demonic, but are ok with drinking & eating the body of Christ. Not sure which is more demonic, however, I digress because I respect all religions and beliefs.
This is MY STORY and TESTAMENT.
No goats, chickens, or animals were harmed in this recording. I didn't have to sacrifice a body part or a family member.
Take a listen.
In the beginning, Baba Victor explains what Ifa is and what he will do during the reading. You will hear him speak a language that you may have never heard before. I do not know what language that is. I'll come back and let you know once I ask him.
Be open to listening!
Happy New Year & Happy Haitian Independence Day!
Lessons on Vulnerability
This week, I talked about the lessons on vulnerability that I experienced. I had a session with my therapist a week or so ago, and she mentioned some tools that I need to help with me being more vulnerable. To be honest, she was right.
In this episode, I speak on the what vulnerability means to me, the lessons I learned, being open to re-learning to how to become more vulnerable with those around me, the positive and negative effects being vulnerable had on me and can have on others.
This episode happened to be my favorite, thus far.
I'm being vulnerable with you, as my listeners and audience.
I hope you all enjoy this episode. Share this with someone if it resonated with you.
Let me reintroduce myself!
It's been a month since my last episode. I didn't expect to take a whole month off but it happened! Maybe I needed it for myself and I didn't even know it!
However, in this episode, I'm reintroducing myself to everyone. It doesn't matter if you just came across my podcast, have been listening for a while, or hated an episode and wanted to come & see what I was up to. I needed to reintroduce myself and I'm going to do it often.
Take a listen and let me know what you think! I was pretty open & vulnerable (especially at the end) so I hope I get to hear from you all soon!
Have an amazing week and I will see yall next week for a new episode!
Cancel Yourself For Taking Things Seriously
In this episode, I spoke about the new Dave Chappelle's special on Netflix. I did not go in-depth about what was discussed because I am not an expert on the topics he talked about in the special. However, I discussed how people shouldn't take things that were said too seriously. I definitely mentioned: "If it doesn't apply, let it fly", so why are people that into their feelings?!
I mentioned how things have been said in the communities that I am a part of on a daily basis. Why should I constantly get offended by what is being said all the time?!
People need to cancel themselves for taking things seriously. Life is short - live your best f***ing life!
What a time to be Haitian!
In this episode, I talk about how what time it is to be a Haitian.
If yall ain't know, there was a viral mess between #JessieWoo and #KarenCivil. When I say it was a mess, chilllleeee!
It was disappointing to see it unfold but there were one too many people who were coming out left & right saying they were bamboozled by Karen.
At one point, I felt bad for her, frfr. Just a little bit. It wasn't Stockholm Syndrome, it was more like she could redeem herself, however, she's being defensive. A simple 'I'm sorry' would have done it.
Then the beginning of the week, there were tons of Haitians at the border of #Texas, who were seeking refuge and the Texan patrols were whipping Haitian people and telling them to go back to where they came from.
History repeating itself.
What a time to be Haitian.
Family & Friends Won't Always Support You.
Hey everyone! It's Thursday... which means it's a brand new episode!
In this episode, I talk about how we all shouldn't expect our family & friends to support us the way we want them to. They will only support us in a way that they want to support us. Makes sense?
I've noticed that a lot of people on social talk about this A LOT! Every motivational speaker, every entrepreneur, etc.
And it's true.
If you have a dream or goal you want to accomplish and you're looking for support, it's best to keep it to yourself and move forward and complete. THEN talk about it after it's done!
I appreciate y'all listening! Share this episode if it resonated with you.
See you next episode!

How social media made common sense not so common...
I don't know if y'all haven't noticed but where did the common sense go!? I already know social media isn't the place for it most days, however, it needs a comeback!
I dive into how I get trapped in a rabbit hole on YouTube to people telling people that they will die if they do not take the vaccine to social media lacking common sense to letting know where you can donate to the people of Haiti on social.
If you want to help those in Haiti, here are some profiles on Instagram that you can look for places to donate or send resources to:

Thank y'all for listening and helping those in Haiti as well!
How I manifest the things that I want!
As you all know, I created this podcast for y'all because I believe it can help someone out there. This podcast showcases my personal journey into who I am becoming and the things I have experienced.
Lately, I've been noticing myself manifesting the things that I want in my life at a very rapid rate. I mean it has been RAPID! Once I say it, it comes to fruition. I mentioned in this episode I'm not an expert or a guru. I never want to be nor be labeled as one. How did I do it? I poured into me what I wanted out of life.
I'm sure most of you know this. I'm sure your favorite motivational speaker or influencer tells you this all the time. I'm wondering if they talked about the feeling you experience when you know you're about to reach what you manifested.
I did. I talked about the feeling you will experience when you are about to reach what you manifest! Take a listen.
Again, I'm not a manifesting guru or expert. I'm me - a regular woman from Chicago who is unapologetically her. I am the unapologetic nonconformist.
Stolen Descendants of Africa w/Dr. Kimya Nuru Dennis

I did mention before I wanted to bring more people on my podcast and I'm a woman of my word. Today, I have Dr. Kimya Nuru Dennis, who broke down what I've always wanted to know - what ADOS stood for, the difference between AA & African/Afro-Caribbean culture and so much more! The insight she provided made me realize that I have A LOT more to learn about the black community as a whole! Tune in and listen to the gems Dr. Kimya dropped because I'm definitely bringing her back!

I’m so Haitian…
Hey y’all! So I wanted to make this episode light hearted and fun! I came across this post on Facebook from The Haitian American page where someone tweeted, “I’m so Haitian…” and they kept it going!
I wanted to read the comments and give y’all more insight on how relatable the the comments where to me by trying to explain what they meant to y’all!
I did speak a bit of Kreyol in this episode so go ahead and take a listen!
And if you're Haitian and you came across this episode, share it!!
