Episode 82: "Aphrodite, LGBTQ Pride Month, and More"
As Pride Month comes to a close, I'm reminded of the overlap between our modern celebration of Pride and celebration of the goddess Aphrodite, during midsummer. One of her titles - Ourania (meaning 'heavenly'), refers to her role as patroness of same-sex love. Happy pride to all! I hope you enjoy learning about the goddess.

Episode 79: "Doreen Valiente - Priestess and Witch ... and Spy?"
This week, we're kicking off a new series on famous Wiccans starting with Doreen Valiente. She was one of what is now called the Gardnerian Tradition's early high priestesses and much of the success of Wicca in general can be attributed to her.

Episode 77: "Guadalupe-Coatlicue, the Enduring Mother"
Perhaps Guadalupe was not Mary, but Coatlicue, coming to remind her people she was and is still with them, even in the darkest of times. The goddess and her people both survived brutalization, death, murder, theft, and abuse at the hands of the Spanish, but Coatlicue appeared at her holy site in the midst of the chaos and turmoil and uttered the now famous words - "Am I not here, I who am your Mother?"

Episode 65: "A Pagan, Polytheist Dissection of the Bible - Genesis 1"
This week, we're flipping the traditional, Christian narrative on its head! The Bible is a composite of many older, pagan and polytheist ideas! So what happens when we put these stories back in that context? Multiple gods, primordial beings, sun gods, moon gods, and land spirits are all in the Bible! This is part one of what is likely to be a much longer series!
Episode 64: Praying Like a Pagan!
This week we're talking about... Prayer? I'll be breaking down some misconceptions about prayer and worship. These practices and concepts are MUCH older than Christianity and as pagans, polytheists, and/or magickal practitioners, we can empower ourselves and deepen our spiritual practices by reclaiming these ideas.

Episode 54: "Traditions of Witchcraft - The Church of Light Shadow"
Disclaimer: First and foremost let me say that Magick and the Moon is not now, nor has it ever endorsed any particular group or institution. This podcast is not affiliated with any group, institution, or religious body of any kind.
This week's episode is about an organization I stumbled upon in research and thought would be interesting to discuss.
Now that the disclaimer is out of the way - For many people, Christianity and witchcraft are incompatible, and while there are certainly valid reasons for having that opinion, that has not always been the case. Many local forms of folk magick have historically been blends of both Catholic practice and pagan spirituality.
The Church of Light and Shadow is a modern group that blends both Christian mysticism with witchcraft. Let me know what you all think!

Episode 39: "Ceremonial Magick and The Teaching Angels"
Hello everyone! Glad to be back! This week I am discussing ceremonial magick and giving some information on how to work with the 'teaching angels', which are essentially a subset of angelic beings that are particularly invested in the wellbeing and betterment of humanity. Disclaimer: I DO NOT advise beginners to work with the angels. I am not saying they are evil, BUT they are intense powerful beings. Unless you are confident in magickal protection AND spirit work, I would HIGHLY advise you to take a step back to learn and practice before engaging with the angels.
Here is the book that I highly recommend and where I got a large amount of my information from. I do not by any means endorse 100% of the views in this book, nor do I subscribe to all of the philosophies and beliefs it discusses, but I do stand by it as an incredibly helpful jumping-off point into the praxis of angelic magick. I believe that one can appreciate and utilize the techniques discussed within the book without agreeing with the author's take on the angels themselves or on the divine. I being a Wiccan, personally have quite a different view of things than the author, but you get my point! Be SAFE and enjoy!
