Magic Wand

Our guest this time is none other than Richard Baird, one of the most inspirational people out there in the world of design. Richard is the creator of LogoArchive and BP&O, and is dedicated to cataloging, researching, and reviewing graphic design. In this episode, we chat about his one-day mission to design LogoArchive Issue 1, his journey from furniture to graphic design, and discuss so much more that it would be a disservice to try and condense it to words here. It’s one of the most thoughtful talks I’ve had as part of this podcast.

In this episode I chat with Nick Losacco and Ciaran Brandin, two graphic and type designers who recently launched Riptype, an independent type foundry.

Nick is from Montreal while Ciaran is from Brooklyn, and they discuss how they formed their partnership, what it’s like launching a foundry today, the current state of type, and most importantly - whether or not they hate oranges.
