DEHUMANIZATION IN MOVIES- Colonialism, Racism, Orientalism, and the Film Industry
Nowadays we might cringe when we see movies like “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, but people back then didn’t do so at all. On the contrary: the movie was, and it still is critically acclaimed and part of pop culture due to USA’s cultural hegemony over the world.
In this video essay I talk about colonialism in the film industry, propaganda, dehumanization, how important is the film industry for political hegemony, how certain marginalized groups are dehumanized in the film industry and why, Orientalism and how the movie Dune uses Orientalist tropes, and what to do next.

BARBIE SNUBBING IS NOT A FEMINIST ISSUE- womanhood in the film industry.
White feminism sets the agenda of the things we should care about that we should be outrage about, and I feel like the whole Barbie movie controversy is not the exception.
What happened with the Barbie movie? Long story short, Greta Gerwig, the director of the Barbie movie, and Margot Robbie, the actress who plays Barbie, didn’t get an Oscar nomination.
In this episode we answer the question: is Margo Robbie and Greta Gerwig not getting an Oscar nomination a feminist issue? What are real feminist issues? Who determines what are “real feminist issues”? womanhood in film, all into the global context of women rights.

LIBERALISM AND WHITE SUPREMACY- Why liberalism likes white supremacy?
Is it the phrase that “Scratch a liberal and a fascist bleed” true? What is the real face of liberalism? I believe is fair to say that liberalism is full of good intentions, and it was the driving force behind a lot of positive changes in society, but are good intentions enough? Also, good intentions in relation with what? Good intentions that strengthen the status quo?
In this episode we will discuss the connection between
liberalism, white supremacy, colonialism, and imperialism. Liberalism throughout history, what is
liberalism, liberalism in Sweden, and in the world.

COBALT IS DESTROYING THE DR CONGO- History, colonialism, and green-washing
To call what’s happening in the Democratic Republic of Congo one of the worst humanitarian crises in the past decades is an understatement. What’s happening in Congo it’s not only a consequence of colonialism, but also still colonialism and exploitation of the global south in its maximum expression.
In this special episode we do a deep dive into de situation of the Democratic Republic of Congo. We talk about the history, from colonial times, King Leopold II Free Congo State, Belgian Congo, Patrice Lumumba, Mobutu, the Congo Wars, and DR Congo recent event.
Also, about cobalt and all the mineral riches in the DR Congo, which are the mining companies that are directly responsible for the aggressive exploitation and human rights abuses, what are the brutal conditions in which people who work in the mines are under, and how green washing is making this situation much worse.

THE WHITEWASHING OF JESUS: a decolonial analysis
When we think of Jesus the first thing that comes to mind is a tall,
white man with blond hair and beard. Jesus is a stereotypical white Scandinavian man, But if Jesus comes from Bethlehem, why is he depicted like a white vegan Norwegian man who loves the outdoors?
Was Jesus white? Where white Jesus comes from? And we will talk in more details
about the historical process of the whitewashing of Jesus as a tool for colonialism and imperialism.
While the Western world join the festivities this year, Bethlehem will not celebrate Christmas mourning the deaths in Gaza.

CAUSES GANG VIOLENCE IN SWEDEN: breaking the myth.
Soha Saad was a 24-year-old woman who lived in Fullerö, a town located north of Uppsala, in Sweden. Soha tragically died after an explosion in her neighborhood, on the 28th of September of this year. Soha Saad is one of the many innocent victims claimed by the wave of gang-related violence that shook Sweden in the month of September, and in the past few years.
Sweden has seen an increased in gang-related crime because several rival groups are fighting each other. Compared to most countries in the world, Sweden is still a safe country, however when it comes to shootings Sweden is one of the highest in Europe. However, when analysis the phenomenon, media often fails to recognize and analyse other factors. This episode is on of the most comprehensive analysis on this phenomenon.
In this episode we will analyze the problem and break misconceptions, from an antiracist, feminist perspective.
How gangs in Sweden operate? How do criminal gangs groom and recruit children? Social inequality and poverty, systemic racism, migration policies, and the police, politics and what could be the solution.

We discuss the politics of self-care, why it is a political action, how we can take care of ourselves and our loved ones, all this while me doing one of my favorite self-care rituals: make up and listening to music. When fighting injustice it is also important to remember that oppressed people are constant receivers of capitalist exploitation, colonialism, ableist, homophobia, policing, and other forms of systematic and structural violence. Loving and taking care of that body is not only important to keep going, but also that love and self-care becomes a powerful political action.

E18: The environmental movement is not political enough
The amazing Swedish activist Greta Thunberg said in a few words on her official Facebook account, that the environmental movement is not political. But I thought that statement was very… irresponsible.
In this episode I talk about that the mainstream environmental movement is not political enough, there's a racist and colonial agenda behind the exploitation of natural resources, and why environmental activism spaces must be intersectional.
In the anti-nihilism section the amazing work of; Ta'Kaiya Blaney @salishmemer, Wet'suwet'en Acess Point Facebook Page, and the organization the Wretched of the Earth.
