YungMash Radio: gifts, gifts and more gifts - the season finale!
In this final episode of the season, newly officially certified YungMentors Cameron and Aya (congratulations to you both!) together with Kate discuss giving and receiving gifts. Lots of things need to be taken into consideration here: preferred love languages are important, (And while we are on a subject, there was a whole episode on love languages). The trio agree that presents that last matter, as do those that required a lot of prep and thought. Gift cards are a big no!
We are taking a break with a pod for a few weeks and will be back with a new season in the new year. Happy holidays from all of us at YungMash Collective!

YungMash Radio: Work ethic, luck and why having expectations is not helpful
In this episode, Kate chats with YungMentee Yeva and her guest Megha Mogan, BBC Gender and Identity correspondent about how generations' attitude to work, and specifically to work ethic, can and does change. Or does it? And should we stop generalising generational traits, but instead learn from one another.
The trio agrees that upbringing and environment shape you much more than when you were born. Lots of meaty things to unpack in this episode: they talk about your 'why', how and when your identity stops and starts being important, when it comes to work, and how you should always focus on the good, irrespective of the challenges.
Feeling lucky in the most unlucky situations is something you are able to train your brain to do, and remember, energy is never wasted and your efforts will always be repaid, but often not immediately. They also talk about why setting goals is necessary, but having expectations about those goals isn’t actually all that helpful.

YungMash Radio: unreliable memories, trauma and five things for your gratitude journal
In this episode, YungMentor Cameron talks to our resident expert, Sydney based clinical psychologist Michael Kirton, about the most effective psychological concepts and techniques that will help you lead a better life.
Self awareness is central to elevating one’s conscience: you yourself are your own best therapist. We live in a society that doesn’t readily recognise trauma, and we should be better equipped to do so. Our own memories, according to neuroscientists, are overvalued, as your brain always distorts them. Intuition, meanwhile, plays a significant role in your personal self-regulating - you just need to learn what to do about it.
Michael shares how neurocoaching and neuroscience could support people with trauma and with painful memories. He describes the techniques we can use so we no longer are troubled by old traumatic experiences. Rewiring your brain, retraining it so it operates more often in the salience rather than default network is a lifelong task. If you want to live a more positive, happy human life, than you need to spend more time in the salience network.

YungMash Radio: Jesus Christ, Wolf of Wall Street and safe spaces
In this episode, Kate (Masha's mum) and YunMentor Caitlin, chat with a 20-year old Londoner Craig, law student and podcast host, who once invited Masha to his show to discuss the meaning of life (and you can find all the relevant links below).
Now it's his turn.
Craig, Kate and Caitlin discuss what life means to them. Inevitably, that sense is likely to be very different and dependent on your age, upbringing, way of life and experience. In the upcoming hour the trio touch on Christianity and spirituality, helping others and living true to your own values, personal accountability and avoidance of judgement.
As always, we are very keen to hear your views on the subject. What is the meaning of life? Did it change for you? And if so, why?

YungMash Radio: Kabbalah, dating and living up your 20s
In this episode, Kate (Masha's mum) and YunMentor Aya, chat with a former Kabbalah teacher and a life coach Jay Kemal.
Their conversation centres around removing pressure from yourself - how can we practice and learn and make effort to continually be oneself? Why is it important? Knowing who you are is not an end goal, it’s a constantly moving process. Getting to know yourself is a life-long journey.
Practice self audit - why am I doing it or who am I doing it for? Am I enjoying it? (We are not saying everything should be fun, there is hard graft in it, you’ve got to put the hours in). Spiritually we also have to guide our parents - it might take 30 years so buckle up!

YungMash Radio: What is Neurocoaching, a Conversation with neuroresearcher Mark Waldman
In this episode, Kate (Masha's mum) and YunMentor Tatyana, chat with one of the world's leading neuroresearchers Mark Waldman.
They discuss what neurocoaching is and how it is different to psychotherapy, go over some of the techniques and methods of neurocoaching, as well as dispel some of the myths and urban legends about brain and brain research. You'll learn about 'compassionate communication' and the most effective way of reaching mindful awareness and being present. Most importantly, you'll be reminded about the importance of trusting your own intuition (the brain telling you what really works for it!) and why it is so important to speak only 10-20 words at any one time.

Different people have different ways of giving AND receiving love - and if your way of giving and someone's way of receiving don't match, it might lead to problems. So how to navigate all this? Listen to our latest episode and send us your stories about your love language.
(Also, if you are into astrology, pay attention to your Moon - it governs your emotional side, including your attitude to love and presents. We talk about that, too).

Yungmash Radio: Hope, "Stretch & Yawn", Toxic Positivity
In this episode, Kate (Masha's mum) is chatting with two YungMash mentors - Tatiana and Caitlin - about what it takes to stay positive in dark situations in life. They stay away from discussing trauma, as it requires a very special, trained approach, but instead concentrated on how to pick yourself up more effectively when life's challenges come.
They discuss the importance of feeling grateful and being hopeful, the significance of taking a pause wherever you feel reactive, the value of regular stretching and yawning (you'll hear a lot more regularly about stretching and yawning here!) and remembering that most of things in life are temporary.
