She is also an adjunct professor at Drexel University and has been the President of the Haddonfield Board of Education since 2018.

 

Jaime has published works at Across the Margin, Valiant Scribe, and Typehouse Literary. Her short story “Fine is for Sugar” was noted as Best of 2020 Fiction at Across the Margin.

 

Last March Jaime published her first novel “The Invisible Ones” which has received critical acclaim from her peers in literature and in literary journals.

Tonight’s guest is award-winning sports author Jim Lefebvre. Jim was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin though today he lives in Minnesota.

 

Jim has published two books. His first book “Loyal Sons” a magnificent history of the 1924 season that features the Four Horseman of Notre Dame was released in 2008.

 

Then Jim wrote the award-winning biography Coach For A Nation: The Life and Times of Knute Rockne.” and just this month, he released the Special Centennial Commemorative Edition of  “Loyal Sons: The Story of The Four Horsemen and Notre Dame Football’s 1924 Champions”.

 

Tonight, Jim and I will be discussing the centennial of that immortal season and how the Four Horsemen made it all possible.

Ralph Tyko interview-a tribute to the late Willie Mays

Tonight’s guest is the man who made this show possible: Mr. Ralph Tyko, my mentor, my friend, my guru, and my radical conscience. Ralph was born in Jackson Heights in Queens and joined the Air Force after graduating from high school where he spent most his military stint at Travis Air Force base in California. After leaving the Air Force he at first lived a conventional life managing an insurance agency while pursuing a career in comedy: writing, performing, and producing comedy shows. Throughout his life Ralph loved baseball and saw many a baseball game at Yankee Stadium, the Polo Grounds, and Ebbets Field. He was a West Coast Representative for Topps Baseball Card Company.

 

Ralph branched out into doing a cable TV sports show where he interviewed many of his baseball from the glory days of New York baseball. In 2012 he switched to podcasting where he interviewed interesting guests from all walks of life and by 2016 the Comfortably Zoned Network was born where he along with a brilliant panel of experts talked about baseball, politics, and sports in general.

 

Today Ralph is the host of the video podcast “Zig in the Zone” where he and his guests continue his great work in entertaining viewers with his views, memories, and insights in sports history and the American political scene.

 

Tonight, Ralph and I are commemorating the 70th anniversary of Willie Mays’ immortal catch of Vic Wertz’s blast in game one of the 1954 World Series and even more significantly we want to pay tribute to the life and baseball careerof Willie Mays, we want to say “goodbye” to the Say-Hey Kid.

Although she defines her genre of writing as Christian Romance Suspense, she has also published a cookbook and a multi-genre collection of short stories.

 

Sharon has also devoted her life to her Christian faith and has spent most of her life studying the Bible and graduated from the Pensacola Bible Institute.

Tonight, we have a special guest: Pro Football Historian and author Terrence “T.J.” Troup. T.J. is one of the foremost historians of professional football. He has written numerous articles for “American Football Coaches Monthly” and was the football coordinator/consultant for the 2008 George Clooney film “Leatherheads” and also the 2021 film “12 Mighty Orphans”. He wrote his first book in 2009 titled “This Day in Football” and in 2014 he wrote the “The Birth of Football’s Modern 4-3 Defense” a splendidly detailed tactical analysis of how NFL teams played defense during the 1950s and a must read for all serious pro football researchers.

 

Tonight, Coach Troup and I will be discussing his upcoming release “1961: A Sensational Season” where Coach Troup examines the offenses, defenses, kicking teams, stats, and significant games for all 14 NFL teams and the Houston Oilers and the San Diego Chargers in the AFL.

Tonight’s guest is author Barbara Gregorich. Barbara was born and raised in Ohio. Her childhood passions were baseball and mystery novels. For a five-year period she worked as a college instructor Kent State University and Cuyahoga Community but her desire was to become a full-time writer.

 

Her first novel “Who’s on First” released in 1976 explored her love of baseball. In 1993 her non-fiction work “Women at Play” was a critically acclaimed work of baseball history that explored the history of women playing baseball.

 

Since then, Barbara has published innumerable works of fiction and non-fiction. Her last two works “The F Words” and “Exit Velocity” are works of fiction. “The F Words” is a work of political fiction for teens. And “Exit Velocity (which was released last month) is a combination of political fiction and science fiction for adults.

Tonight’s guest is author and historian David Sears. David lives in Northern New Jersey. He served in the U.S. Navy with extensive overseas experience which included serving as an adviser to the South Vietnamese Navy during the Vietnam War. David earned degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and, later, from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

 

In 2007 he released his first book “The Last Epic Naval Battle: Voices from Leyte Gulf”

 

In the years that followed David Sears has since published “At War with the Wind” a history of how the U.S. Navy dealt with Japanese Kamikaze attackers during the final months of World War II.


Followed by “Such Men as These” the story of Naval Pilots who fought during the Korean War.

 

Then came “Pacific Air” which discusses the great Naval pilots and their aircraft that won the Naval Air War in the Pacific during World War Two.

 

And then in September last year David released his latest masterpiece “Duel in the Deep” which chronicles a fantastic 1943 battle between a U.S. Navy destroyer and a German U-Boat.

Tonight’s guest is author Bob Wirz. Bob has been a media specialist in the world of sports for over 60 years. A lifelong baseball fan Bob worked as a publicity director for the Kansas City Royals and, later, in newspaper, radio, and television work. For 11 years he ran the media office for Major League Baseball when Bowie Kuhn was commissioner of baseball. During the 2000s and early 2010s he was a weekly columnist for Independent Baseball Insider and for the past 38 years he has been the owner of Wirz Associates where he does sports consulting work.

 

In 2016 he published the book “The Passion of Baseball”, a memoir of his life’s journey from Nebraska to his close encounters with baseball history.

 

Tonight, we will pay tribute to Bob Wirz’s literary works and his contributions to Major League Baseball.

Last year Gabriel unleashed upon the world four books: “Beyond the Trail: a collection of short stories”, “The Gathering” a novel; “Harlem Hellfighters” a chronicle of the all-black 369th regiment that won honor in World War I; and last October a sequel to “The Gathering”, “Amyntas: Son of Persia”.

In 2022, Peter released “Whispers of the Gods” a 21st century sequel to Lawrence Ritter’s immortal classic “The Glory of their Times” where Peter awed readers with wonderful nuggets from baseball’s past where player who played the game from the 1930s up to the 1970s discuss their memories of the game.

 

Today, we celebrate Peter’s latest opus “Baseball Heaven: Up Close and Personal, what it was really like in the Major Leagues” which was released today.

Tonight’s guest is novelist Donny Hunt. Donny hales from Texas and has worked for various newspapers and radio stations while contributing to sports websites.


During the past six years he has written and published five novels. His first “Blessed Poison” was released in 2016. In 2017 he released “The Quest for Aranwa” and “Angel of Death”. In 2020 he released his fourth “Already Fallen” a sequel to his first novel “Blessed Poison”. And in 2022 Donny’s fifth novel “Reckless Passions” a sequel to “Already Fallen” and “Blessed Poison” was unleashed upon the world.

 

But when he isn’t writing novels Donny Hunt also indulges in his other passion: being a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. Tonight, marks a special occasion for Cowboys fans. This is the 30th anniversary of Dallas winning Super Bowl XXVIII against the Buffalo Bills. It was Dallas’ first repeat Super Bowl victory in their franchise history and tonight Donny and I will pay tribute to that great team.

Tonight’s guest is author Mark Kram, Jr. For the past 35 years Mark has been a legend in sports writing circles for his brilliant writing for the Philadelphia Daily News, the Detroit Free Press, and the Baltimore News American. He has also contributed book reviews for the New York Times and other international publications.

 

Mark was born to be a great writer. His father Mark Kram Sr. was a distinguished author and writer for Sports Illustrated and was at ringside for the first Ali-Frazier fight.

 

Mark published his first book Like Any Normal Day: A Story of Devotion in 2012 (which won the 2013 PEN/ESPN award for Literary Sports Writing).

 

Indeed, Mark has won numerous literary awards for his magnificent contributions to sports writing.

 

Then in June 2019 he released his third book “Smokin’ Joe: The Life of Joe Frazier”.

 

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the second Ali-Frazier at Madison Square Garden. Tonight’s show will commemorate that bout and the life of former Heavyweight champion Joe Frazier.
