Make no mistake, ALL leaders are subject to confirmation bias as it relates to their goals and agendas for an organization, but leaders in stakeholder-value driven organizations, typically non-profits and volunteer groups, run a greater risk of confirmation bias.... listen in to hear what it is and why it happens.

Eventually you will get promoted to one level beyond your capacity to continue being a top performer. Each promotion requires new and different skills. The Peter Principle is very common problem within organizational dynamics and can be a serious problem if not addressed. Kutz and Konin take a look into this phenomenon and offer suggestions to navigate this potential performance pitfall. 

Leadership should be an entry-level expectation, but many educators inadvertently (some maybe intentionally) treat leadership as an advanced-practice ability that may only come after more experience or later in ones career. We think that is a tragedy! Today, Drs. Kutz and Konin banter back and forth about the significance and value of leadership education (and other intangible skills) that need to be introduced to students much earlier!
