79. Ben and Tara Robinson
•
In September 2020, Ben and Tara got a phone call from a family member about a surprise cousin who had been born in another part of the state and placed in foster care.
•
Around the same time, I got a phone call from our local DHR about a newborn in the NICU needing a temporary home.
•
This is a story that is near to my heart and I had all the tissues ready for this one.

Forrest and Caren are currently raising 11 children under the age of 14. That’s right. Eleven children....and they’re such a fun family! Their journey in foster care began 15 years ago and I’m seriously inspired by their story.
I hope you are too.

Prophetic Dreams: Hearing the Voice of God
•
My friend Jenn Z is back! In this conversation we talk about hearing from God through dreams. Jenn is in some major transition in her life and has had some significant night dreams that have given her specific guidance and strategy for making decisions about what’s next.
•
Sometimes talking about dreams and dream interpretation can sound a little hoky, but I wanted Jenn to talk practically with us about how we can hear the voice of God through our dreams by sharing some of her own stories.
•
Jenn is moving to Manchester, England and you’re going to be amazed at how God has been speaking to Jenn over the last four years about this next season in her life.

75. Maya Cole
Why did I do a podcast episode with my sixteen year old daughter?
•
Maya Cole is smart, funny, likes mix-tapes and is 16 going on 78. She’s a regular modern-day teenager with an old soul and I think she’s pretty awesome.
•
I wanted this conversation to inspire you to take 30-45 minutes with the young people in your life and just ask questions about the things they love. You may be surprised at the things you’ll learn.

Now this is a very new subject to me and Joe is admittedly not an expert on the topic so take this conversation as it is meant to be....just two friends sitting around the table, talking about life and things we’ve learned and experienced on our journeys.

In what areas of my life am I “walking in the counsel of the wicked?” Am I allowing my values, thoughts, and desires to be shaped by people and world systems? Or am I being counseled by the Word of God and the enlightening of the Holy Spirit?
In what areas of my life am I “standing in the path of sinners?” In other words, in what ways am I thinking and acting the same way someone without God would think and act?
In what areas of my life am I “sitting in the seat of scoffers?” In other words, in what areas of my life do I doubt the goodness and power of God to come through for me?
What area do I want to see prosper?

God, what are some things that you like about me?
What makes me me?
Think of an attribute about your inner self that you do not particularly like. Ask God, “what do you think about this attribute?”
Think of an attribute of your external self that you do not particularly like. Ask God, “what do you think about this attribute?”

What areas of my life am I concerned about? What do I find myself thinking about a lot? (My future? My plans? The unknown?)
Am I trying to come to a place of resolve in this area of concern based on my own understanding? Or have I submitted it to the Lord and asked for His guidance?
How can I acknowledge the Lord in this area of concern?
