In episode 28, I interview Layla Alexander. Ms. Alexander is an investment analyst at Female Founders Fund, a seed stage venture fund that invests exclusively in female-founded companies. Prior to joining Female Founders Fund, Ms. Alexander worked at Goldman Sachs on the Real Estate Investing Team in addition to her work at Google, Harlem Capital, and Cleo Capital. Layla’s passion for supporting marginalized communities began at her alma mater, Columbia University, where she worked with the Columbia Organization for Rising Entrepreneurs (CORE) and Almaworks, CORE's startup accelerator, which focused on mentoring undergraduate and graduate student founders.

In episode 27, I interview Debra Hare, who leads us through an exclusive personal branding exercise. This lesson on one's personal brand is vital in capitalizing on personal strengths, growing from weaknesses, and developing an authentic corporate personality.

Ms. Hare has spent over three decades focusing on providing business development and leadership coaching to service firms. Right now, she serves at Morgan Lewis as a business development coach, and she aims to help lawyers cultivate successful relationships while promoting the firm’s goals and projects. Mrs. Weed has displayed incredible research skills in her writing after scouring through both newspapers in her attic and in the Library of Congress.

In episode 25, I interview Bria Peace. Ms. Peace is an Assistant Vice President at Bank of America in New York City, focusing on wealth management and hedge fund origination. She sources, structures, and manages equity hedge fund products for Bank of America's wealth platform, working with hedge fund managers to select offerings for ultra-high net worth client portfolios. Bria also recently joined the board of En Garde Arts (engardearts.org), an artist-centered non-profit theater production company, that supports playwrights, directors, composers and designers creating site-specific work through New York City. As a board member, Ms. Peace assists En Garde with fundraising, business strategy, event planning, and increasing viewership.

She is the founder as well as the current director of the JDT Foundation, which addresses educational and environmental challenges in Haiti. Additionally, Ms. Brennan is a nationally recognized speaker on issues of health fairness in the developing world.

In episode 21, I interviewed Leonorah Boulter.

After studying Construction and Cost Management Engineering in 1992, Ms. Boulter worked for the United Nations to build a massive airbase in Africa. In Hong Kong in 1994, she helped engineer some of the world’s biggest bridges and airports. From 2007 to 2016, she worked in Dubai on the Formula 1 race track Abu Dhabi. In addition to all of this, she started her own company, Evercreate.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization that seeks to change the lives of children facing adversity. The non-profit provides children ages 6-18 with mentors that can help them reach their full potential. Ms. Samuel has worked in the nonprofit philanthropic sector for over 15 years serving in leadership roles in health care, higher education and youth serving organizations. She has also raised over $50 million dollars as a Director of Development for a large nonprofit health center.
