Bold Predictions in the Off-Season

Bold Predictions in the Off-Season

Luke and Alex get together to discuss the coaching staff changes, available free agents, and Alex has the boldest (and perhaps dumbest?) take in the history of the show.

40-Man Cut 'Em or Keep 'Em

To wrap up the season, Luke and Alex got together to discuss their highs and lows from their season, their Least Valuable Player and Most Valuable Player (Alex's pick will absolutely SHOCK you), and then they play cut 'em or keep 'em with the full 40-man roster.

Robbie Grossman Proves It Is Time To Fire Scott Coolbaugh

Luke and Alex get together following the Tigers series win against the Angels to discuss what it is to be a Tigers fan right now, why it feels different to watch the team, and why there are reasons for hope for 2023 (and that no one should be talking about throwing that year away in favor of '24).

The Moment We've Al Been Waiting For

The Moment We've Al Been Waiting For

Luke and Alex get together on a fantastic Wednesday night to discuss the firing of Al Avila. Though it was years too late, the conversation discusses what the path forward might look like, who their ideal GM Candidate would be, and what they would do first if they became the GM of the Detroit Tigers.

Note: In our delirious excitement, we were a little looser with our language than normal.

Soup, Salad, and Breadsticks is a Better Pick than Any that We Made

Sean and Tom join Luke and Alex to review how their pre-season picks have fared so far this season - discussion primarily goes league wide as opposed to a Tigers focus this week. Colin Lyman, who picked with us pre-show, was unable to join us, but that doesn't stop us from some well natured ribbing.

Programming note: we recorded this last Sunday evening, before the Daniel Norris news was announced.

The Nail in the Coffin?

The Nail in the Coffin?

Luke and Alex catch up on the Tigers over the past two weeks, and give a little preview about the situation heading towards the All-Star break. With a packed divisional schedule leading up to the All-Star Break, have the Tigers hit the true make or break moment for the season? Will they get to the break with any sense of life, or will the only thing that really swings be the door closing shut on the season?

Time to hit the panic button?

The great debate among Tigers fans: is it time to hit the panic button? Luke and Alex take opposites sides of the debate and arrive at one conclusion: either way - it's not good right now.

Also of note: we recorded Monday night before the news of Faedo making his debut.

Along the way, they name their most underrated and overrated teams in MLB, and crack a few jokes.

Good Thing We're Not a Breaking News Show

Good Thing We're Not a Breaking News Show

Luke and Alex got together on Saturday afternoon to dissect Al’s comments on the Friday night broadcast about the potential future nucleus on this team. While we recorded on Saturday, that means we didn’t have results of Saturday and Sunday’s games, OR the official news that Torkelson and Dingler would be promoted to Erie - though we definitely talk about that move being imminent. Finally, the show wraps up with a spirited debate about the extra innings rule.
Tracking Bold Statements:
Alex - At the All-Star Break, the Tigers will be ahead of the White Sox in the AL Central standings. (Alex has already admitted is wrongness, but this will stay until it is officially untrue at the All-Star Break)
Miggy 500 predictions:
Luke - Wednesday, August 11th at Baltimore
Alex - Tuesday, August 17th at Home against the Los Angeles Angels

A Brief Episode to Tell You There's No Episode This Week

Not an episode so much as an announcement - Alex lays out the week ahead from Yankee Stadium before Sunday’s game. While he doesn’t know the result at the time of making the video, we now know they dropped that one 2-0 to once again be on the receiving end of a sweep.

Go listen to last week’s episode: Fire Al Avila.

Also, check out Alex and Luke on the Tigers SRD Podcast.

The Experimental Prototype Episode of Tomorrow

The Experimental Prototype Episode of Tomorrow

This week, we tried a little experiment. In lieu of our traditional format, Luke and Alex went live during Sunday's spring training matchup against the Orioles (which the Tigers won 5-1). The live show happened on our Facebook, and what we're bringing you in this feed is an edited down version of their conversation. This particular conversation covered a lot of topics, but primarily kept to the lineup as guys came up to bat, and what moves the guys hope the Tigers make in this upcoming off-season, as well as speculation on the development of some of our top prospects. If you liked the format, be sure and let us know. We'll be back with our regular format next week.

Tracking Bold Statements:

Alex - Miggy will bat in a position other than 3rd at some point this season.

Alex - At the All-Star Break, the Tigers will be ahead of the White Sox in the AL Central standings.
