In this episode where we dive deep into the power of setting standards in your life. Do you ever find yourself disappointed or frustrated by the behavior of those around you? Do you struggle to reconcile the gap between who you want someone to be and who they actually are?

2.5 Evolving and BEing with Evita Robinson of the Nomadness Travel Tribe
On this weeks Episode of Minding my Own Mind, we have Evita Robinson of the Nomadness Tribe! She is a powerhouse of a woman who stumbled into entrepreneurship and built an amazing community for BIPOC that is centered around travel and engagement.
In this interview with Evita, we learn more about who she is as a person and the way her identity and roles have evolved over time. She is a woman that represents risk taking, strength, innovation and being of the people for the people. Evita is clearly a creative, cultural entrepreneur and continuously blossoming into a new stage while still staying true to who she is at her core.
If you didn't know, in September 2011, Evita created the NOMADNESS Travel Tribe, an award winning online social community primarily for travelers of color. NOMADNESS was the first of its kind targeting Black and brown millennials. The group currently surpasses 30,000 international members, with over a dozen regional ambassadors.
Evita’s accolades include National Geographic’s ‘21 Most Visionary Women Throughout Travel History’, AFAR Travel Vanguard Award recipient, The Root 100, and being noted as one of Entrepreneur Magazine’s 50 Most Daring Entrepreneurs of 2018. Evita was also invited to the White House under the Obama Administration for their meeting of world's creative change makers, for SXSL (South By South Lawn).
In 2017, she was inducted into the third cohort of the TED Residency, and gave her noted TED Talk that June. Given her work within Black travel data research with Dr. Alana Dillette and Dr. Stefanie Benjamin of Tourism RESET, she is also a published scholar in the academic journal Tourism Geographies.
She now serves as a media host amplifying BIPOC communities around the world, a screenwriter and producer, keynote speaker, and diversity consultant for destinations and brands.

Today we talk about releasing the resistance so that we can embody who we want to become and make space for our manifestations.
Often things may be working out for us but we cannot fully appreciate the realization of our dreams and goals because we are still holding onto something from our old identity. All the people in your life now are not meant to make it to your future and those old thought patterns are not going to allow you to become who you want to be.

Reflecting can be used to help us understand ourselves. We can learn about ourselves from the way we feel about others. In this episode we talk about different kinds of reflections and how we can use them to understand ourselves, where we are and what we need to work on.
Reflecting helps us learn about ourselves, observe what we still need to work on and also see where we have grown.

People pleasers have an issue with saying 'no' to others and self-prioritization. In their minds, they are doing things for the sake of pleasing everyone else. We all have had some level of a people pleasing tendency in our lives before.
In this episode I talk about the mindset of people pleasers, what their actions imply and why they do the things they do subconsciously. I also talk about how to set our own boundaries with people pleasers and how to evaluate our own people pleasing habits.
If you feel you have people pleasing tendencies, this episode may help you reframe the way you think about your actions, the way you prioritize people around you and most importantly, the way you prioritize yourself.

11- Setting Boundaries with Coworkers
We can control the way we experience life by choosing our realities. Although we cannot control others, we can control our boundaries and how we set them. Boundaries are limits and lines we draw that allow us to feel protected and comfortable in different situations. They can range in their types from physical to emotional to time to mental. Many people have thought about boundaries with friends and relationships but today we will speak on the subject of boundaries of people we don't always get to choose and that we may or may not like: coworkers. This is mostly talking about what boundaries in the workplace can look like and how to address the issues that may come up. This subject is much bigger than a 30 minute chat, but hopefully this can give you some food for thought and some tips on how to handle these situations as they come up.
