Hey hey we’re back! Again. And again. And here we are again. I’m being annoying, I’ll stop. HEY HEADS UP THIS IS THE LAST PODCAST OF THE YEAR Y’ALL, ASHLEY AND NORINE ARE TAKING SOME WINTER SLEEPIES-WE’LL CATCH YOU IN THE NEW YEAR. I DON’T KNOW WHY I’M CONTINUING TO TYPE IN ALL CAPS BUT IT LOOKS LIKE I’M YELLING RIGHT? *coughs* Ok. 🤓 After catching up on current happenings and of course getting in some food and weather talk, in episode 22 Ashley and Norine kick off the main topic about 30 minutes in. We're talking minimalism, overconsumption, waste, predatory industries, and how we have to question evvvvverything.

Episode 20 (9/18/22): Twin Cities Veg Fest, anarchism, and War Zone Distro.

After a little Summer break, we're back! We'll get you caught up on current happenings with a lot of food talk and (unfortunately) more of the same when it comes to crime. At about 29 minutes in we dive into the main topic with our guest Flower Bomb who is an anarchist writer that created Warzone Distro (http://warzonedistro.noblogs.org), a zine creating & distributing project focused on anarchy, insurrection, & anti-civilization. Check it out! All zines are available via PDF or you can request a zine package.
We dig in on a bunch of topics and think you'll find it to be a really thought-provoking conversation!

What up what up we're back we're back. And THIS time we have another guest! YAY LET'S GOOOOO. In episode 18 of MNtersectional, Norine and Ashley have Reid from Vegan East on the pod. They speak on some current happenings, most notably those surrounding the DxE protests at the Minnesota Timberwolves games because their fuckass team manager roasts chicken alive and that's awful and unthinkable and somehow we also tie this into how the police still do shitty stuff (SURPRISE!! LOLOL). Reid also talks about his experiences beginning Vegan East, an eatery with 3 locations around the Twin Cities metro that has bombass treats (he brought Norine and Ashley cupcakes! #jobperks).

Episode 17 (3/27/22): pronouns (YAY!) and cancel culture (booooo).

Hellooooo it's that time again, are you ready? Because we're like...kind of ready. JK WE'RE SO FREAKING READY LET'S DO THIS. In episode 17 of MNtersectional, Ashley comes prepared AGAIN with the tea *cough* I mean news and Norine (who seriously needs to get her life together) just like, doesn't. Nothing new to see hear, folks. *jazz hands* THEN Ashley and Norine talk about a very interesting situation that serves as the impetus to a larger dialogue that they have around pronouns, teaching/not teaching certain topics in public school, and somehow this situation ALSO begs the topic of cancel culture. SO. It turns out to be a very rich dialogue indeed. Hope your earholes enjoy it!!

Episode 16 (2/20/22): ASHLEY’S BACK OMG...also boundaries and burnout.

Hey y'all we're baaack again. It's coming up on the "tail end" of winter in MN so like how are you doing? LOL jk don't answer that. Ok. In episode 16 of MNtersectional Norine came unprepared for just like, life in general, so Ashley (who probably saved this whole episode from being an hour of static silence) gives us a good amount of current MN news-y happenings. She had a pretty big adventure recently so she goes into that (shoutout to Earthships). We then dive into a dialogue of our own experiences of burnout (what up MN winter-you can leave now bubye thanks for coming) and its relation to having good boundaries (WE SAID YOU CAN LEAVE NOW MN WINTER GOOD BYE). *brushes shoulders off* Anyways, we hope you enjoy this episode because Ashley's back and omg did Norine miss her.

Episode 15 (1/9/22): Best friend (ahem, #bro) episode!

Episode 15 (1/9/22): Best friend (ahem, #bro) episode!

Yaaaay we’re back again. I mean…um, Norine’s back again. Ashley’s out this month but will be back next episode (love you miss you Ashley!). Welp, it’s winter in MN, what’s new. In the first Best Friends/#bro episode of the podcast, Norine brings on her #bro Rah and they talk about what components of their friendship keep it sustainable despite them living half a country apart (hint: mostly that they’re not avoidant in discussing issues when they come up/show up for each other in the ways that matter to one another/feel an energetic connection to one another-but whatevs just listen to the episode!!), speak on friendships past and why they fell by the wayside, and also highlight how difficult friendships with other womxn (especially in Minnesota) can be, as we are all on different paths and have different energetic frequencies throughout our lifetimes. Norine also speaks a little on disengaging from online mediums in #2021 to be present for the friendships/family that show up in her life as well, as it truly was the year that was made what was most important all the more apparent. Hope you enjoy this shorter, tasty bite of an episode, y’all.

Episode 14 (11/28/21): Talking about mens groups with Paul.

Hello again! We're back, yes we are and we've got a fantastic new episode for you to listen to so get excited..or don't, it's whatever but you should probably listen to this one. We have Paul, business owner (check out Burning Passion!), masseuse (hit him up if you're in the Twin Cities), and mens group proponent to talk about just that. Paul runs down what kind of work Mankind Project has been doing in the way of helping heal men's issues (turns out it's SUPER freaking important for men to use other men to help learn and heal from toxic crap and that womxn/others CAN'T DO THAT FOR YOU...but I digress and you should check out a group in your local area for real.)

What's up what's up we've been gone a second but we're back now, how are you? You can't answer that, we realize this. OK. SO. Hope you enjoyed summer. A lot has gone down and we cover most of it, including the fact that in less than a month (11/2/21 to be exact) Minneapolis will be electing new people to run its stuff so you should probably vote if you live there, yes? Yes. Did you know Ribnick Furs (boooo) is going out of business? That's pretty cool so we also talk about that. We finally dive into the bittersweet realm of break ups and give you the lowdown on how they are often necessary and needed.

Hey hey hey WE'RE BACK AGAIN DID YOU MISS US??? We know you did even if you're not showing it. ANYWAYS Norine and Ashley had Sam and Darien from Food for Worms Podcast  (which you should totally check out anywhere you can listen to podcasts) on the show and THEY ARE THE FIRST MEN WE'VE EVER HAD ON OUR PODCAST, PEOPLE. We talk with them about animal rights, where their feminism lies as men/within their own identifiers AND within being from the midwest (because it is a culture, people), and we end the the episode with a MFK game and some other fun in true Food for Worms Podcast style. Episode 11 (6/13/21): Talking sh*t with The Duke.

Helllooooo again dear listeners and welcome to the episode where we lay it alllll out on the line (right after we discuss current events in MN of course winky face and yes I meant to spell that out bc EMOJIS ARE OVER PPL). (Jk, I digressed way too much, sry about that). *deep breath* Ok let's try this again. AFTER current events we have the one, the only, The Duke on to help us spill some tea re: the vegan community (both online and in person) in MN and to help listeners get some hot tips on how we can call out problematic MN organizations and invite them into a space to do better in their feminism. We also name a ton if places that (seemingly) care a whole lot about feminist values. Strap in tight for the ride-you won't want to miss this one!

Episode 10 (5/9/21): Mother's Day, adoption, and Amy from Chicken Butt Microsanctuary.

YES YES WE ARE BACK HAPPY ALMOST SUMMER MN! In episode 10 of MNtersectional we have another special guest, Amy, who owns a chicken microsanctuary (Chicken Butt Microsanctuary find their Patreon link on their page!) We break down not only her process for starting this operation (it's actually a super accessible idea for those wanting to rescue "farmed" (boo) animals) but also pick her brain about human child adoption (a subject that she has experience in), thoughts on being a mother (thank you Angela M for beautiful post on this), and talk up the current events (Chauvin trial verdict, the murder of Daunte Wright (rest in power), and some bullshit that the city of Eden Prairie, MN pulled (double boo) lately in regard to building homes by Fredrick Miller Spring).

Hellloooo again listeners! And happy actual actual spring time in Minnesota. It's (quite literally) the most wonderful time of the year (in terms of weather). Birds are singing, the sun is out, flowers are blooming, Bella is farting outside as opposed to inside the home now...I mean, uh....yeah. Speaking of farts (not an awkward segue at all), we talk about bodily functions in front of our partners/friends/family, cancel (ew) and call out (necessary) culture, Policy and policy work (with a shout out and a call to action-thanks Renegade Feminist Podcast!), as well as other current happenings in MN right now in episode 9 of MNtersectional!
