Ep95. You Deserve to Be As You Are with Avukile Zoya, Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls Series
Welcome to Episode 95 of The Monica Kade Podcast. This week we kick off a 5-week podcast series with The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls (OWLAG). My first OWLAG alumni guest is Avukile Zoya, who was born and raised in South Africa. She is the youngest of 4 siblings and was raised by her mom and sister—who was only four years older than her. Her acceptance into The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, was a powerful stepping stone enabling her to have the education she dreamed of. Then in 2017, she graduated from Colorado College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Molecular Biology and a minor in Spanish in the United States.  Our conversation is a deep dive into her life before OWLAG and the experiences to date, which have shaped her into the women she is today. Avukile’s story is a powerful illustration of how having access to quality education and a tight-knit and empowering social circle further ignites the flame of our hearts desires. She reminds us that no matter where we come from, life is up to us. We choose how to respond to life and which direction we want to steer our ship—we must only tune into the whispers of our soul. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN What life looked like prior to OWLAG? What her relationship with her family is like The dreams and aspirations she held as a child growing up Why she wanted to attend OWLAG The rigorous submission process she went through to be considered a future student What it was like when she found out she was accepted into OWLAG We discuss self-doubt and how she navigates that feeling of 'Am I enough? Do I deserve this?' The life philosophy she leads her life with What was it like learning to listen to the ‘heartbreaking’ and ‘challenging’ life stories of her fellow OWLAG sisters What did attending OWLAG teach her about herself What she loves about the work she’s been called to do with the Clinton Health Access Initiative in South Africa What it means to Avukile to be the best version of herself The person that inspires/supports her to rise into her best self daily How she finds inspiration and courage to keep going when life feels challenging   SIGNATURE QUESTIONS Sunset or sunrise and why? What is Avukile afraid of? The piece of wisdom she’s been given that she lives by today. If you enjoyed this episode, I've absolutely love you to please rate and review this conversation on iTunes. It helps others like you find the podcast and listen to stories that elevate and empower individuals to be their best.

Ep94. Is Love Free? The Love Experiment with Amir Zoghi
"I realised, I'm comfortable. I'm too comfortable. I'm comfortable in my lifestyle, in my self...For me, life is experienced outside of your comfort zone...This Love Experiment has put me outside my comfort zone." - Amir Zoghi, Ep94. The Monica Kade Podcast In Episode 94 of The Monica Kade Podcast I sit down with International Speaker, Coach and Aerobatic Pilot, Amir Zoghi. On the 1st May, 2019 he released his $6,600.00 signature coaching program: OMG (Oneness Mentoring Group) to the world, for free! A program that brings in 80% of his income. Why?  Because over the past 19 years he's been subjected to people's comments saying, "If it's about Love, then shouldn't it be free? Why are you charging people for your program?" Then on the flip side he's had individuals saying, "I love your content and your work, but I'm not going to do your program because you're not charging for it. You don't value yourself. It shouldn't be free".  Feeling like he couldn't win, he decided to do an experiment purely for himself, which is now running as THE LOVE EXPERIMENT. And he's going through his own process around the question, IS LOVE FREE? Listen in to our conversation where we talk on who he is, why he's doing this and what's the experience been like so far. You'll Learn About Who is Amir Zoghi and what does he do? What is The Love Experiment? Why Amir is running The Love Experiment Why he didn’t release the OMG program 6 months ago when he first felt the feeling What his inner process was around following this feeling Why it’s imperative to follow what we feel regardless of circumstances or how it will impact others The response from his audience and the wider community so far Amir's personal insights from the experience to date\ You can also listen to the episode on iTunes, Spotify and all other podcasting platforms.  For further details about his OMG Program (Oneness Mentoring Group) click here. Ep92. Use Your Inner Wisdom to Eat with Liv Kaplan, Nutritionist
"My overall mission isn’t to have people lose weight or fit into a certain amount of macros, but I want them to feel the love for the kitchen that I do.” - Liv Kaplan, Ep92 The Monica Kade Podcast Episode 92 of The Monica Kade Podcast was a riot to record. My guest was Liv Kaplan, nutritionist and passionate foodie with a keen eye for all things health and wellness.  I’ve been following Liv for quite a while now—on Instagram that is. Not to yoga or the farmer’s market or anything—that’d be weird. So let me say this…not only do her clean, sugar, gluten, grain and dairy free recipes make your eyes pop, they pretty much inspire you to drop what you’re doing, grab your debit card and run to the grocery store—stat! You think I’m joking. In Ep92. Use Your Inner Wisdom to Eat, we share a healthy dose of laughter, blend it with some golden nuggets of wisdom and drizzle in some simple ideas that you can adopt as part of your own conscious approach to health. Plus, we get all the goss on her latest eBook, CREATE. Aside from my love for her dessert recipes, it’s her easy-going, comical but real approach to health and food that makes her so likeable. Her message is simple.  Liv’s recipes focus on mood-boosting and blood sugar balancing goodness, and she believes eating well should be effortless, not stressful! If you live in Sydney, Australia, you can find this bronzed up foodie on the shore of Bondi Beach. She’s a living example of how proper nutrition is an integral part of our overall health—but you’re not going to die if you take a detour.  If she’s not getting creative in the kitchen, you can find her getting salty in the ocean, getting zen on the yoga mat or picking up fresh produce from the local farmer’s market.  GRAB your green juice, turmeric latte, bulletproof coffee—or beverage of choice; plug in those earphones and consume this episode in one sitting—or with a friend, if you think you can’t do it alone. We believe you can. What You’ll Learn When Liv’s fascination with food began Why she doesn’t attach herself to food labels How her diet has evolved over recent years Why she doesn’t try to know what’s right for you We debunk the “Keto” vs “Vegan” conversation Why health isn’t just about what food you eat Why she advocates looking at ‘how’ you eat and your mindset on food We talk food philosophy: Eating well and looking after your health should make you less stressed not more Get the goss on her newly released (April 23rd 2019) eBook, CREATE What inspired Liv to bring CREATE to life Signature Questions Sunset or sunrise and why? Ep91. [Mindset] Life Gave Me A Lesson In Appreciation...The Hard Way
We're back this week with another episode of Pep Talks for Your Soul.  I missed sharing an episode with you last week due to illness, however; it inspired this episode. Today, I share with you a lesson in appreciation that life dished up to me last week. It's funny how sometimes you don't realise how far away from your centre you really are. And, if you're lucky life will remind you. I say 'lucky' because for me, in each moment of each day I strive to be the fullest and truest expression of myself. And when I'm not, that's quickly rectified.  We only have so much energy in a day...why spend it playing pointless and monotonous poker machines in your mind (your recycled thoughts being the coins)? #notworthit I thought I'd share the lesson with you as maybe you're experiencing something similar, or possibly a lack of appreciation for your life is what's holding you back. Don't let it be. Enjoy the Pep Talk, and as always, if you enjoy the episode, please share it with a friend who could use a Pep Talk.  Thanks for listening.

Ep90. How to Build A Real & Lasting Relationship with Mark Groves, Human Connection Specialist
"It's important for people to understand that wherever you hold resentment...that's a place where you don't prioritize yourself." - Mark Groves, Ep90. The Monica Kade Podcast  In Episode 90 of The Monica Kade Podcast: How to Build A Real & Lasting Relationship, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Mark Groves. He has a specialised interest in the area of Human Connection. He’s an author, speaker and sales consultant.  Aside from his professional titles, he’s just a really cool guy doing some incredible work in the world. I don’t say that lightly. I found his work on Instagram—as you’ll hear in the episode—and was really moved by the way he writes about relationships. But sitting down to chat with him was another level. If he lived in Australia, I’d totally have him over as a dinner guest. He’s intelligent, easy-going and just one of those people you enjoy having a conversation with. No BS, just pure heart. And I like those kind of people. He’s in love with science, psychology, and uncovering the mysteries of what makes great relationships work. Speaking of that, he’s certain there are no “secrets” when it comes to great relationships. Rather, he believes that all relationships are by design and we are all the architects of what we want. Mark has a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology and has written for Plenty of Fish, Thought Catalog, Goodmen Project and is the Relationship Columnist for 24 Hours Newspaper. When he’s not working with clients you’ll find him traveling the globe, playing in the mountains and ocean, or pretty much anything that gets his heart beating in the paradise that is Vancouver, BC. Learn About -  How he became a human connection specialist? -  What he had to do to master his understanding and approach to relationships -  Why your relationship with yourself if first paramount  -  How you measure up your worth in a relationship -  How to create healthy boundaries in a partnership -  What marriage used to be and why it’s no longer that -  How you can equip yourself to be a better partner -  How he helps people ‘understand their emotional matrix by mastering themselves through their word” -  What he really thinks about your “List” for your ultimate partner -  Is it possible to feel free in a relationship  Signature Questions  -  Sunset or sunrise and why—plus he shares a really cool anecdote about his answer! -  If he wasn’t in his current career, what he’d like to attempt -  A piece of wisdom he’s been passed down and lives by

Ep89. [Health] What You Need To Know About That Body You Want
In Episode 89 of Pep Talks for Your Soul, I talk about some things you ought to consider before you chase after 'that' body you want. I think every woman on the planet is susceptible to feeling shame or discontent in her skin. After all we live in a world that's telling us how we 'should' be and how we 'should' look.    Let's get real for a minute...the 'perfect body' is not what you actually want and even if you do attain it, unless you've stopped to reflect on what's driving you to aspire to such a body, it ain't going to change how you feel. You're still going to feel the same. Take it from someone who's subjected her body to eating disorders, gruelling workouts and insane ways of eating, living and being.   Until I realised, I needed to address what lay beneath.  In this short episode I share a few highlights that'll support you to stop running on the mental treadmill and move towards a more peaceful way of being.   You can have the body you love, but that's not necessarily the body you think you want.  The body you love is the body you feel good and alive in. It's the body that allows you to be your best in all areas of your life.   Enjoy this Pep Talk and leave me a comment on Instagram @MonicaKade if you found it valuable.

Ep88. Amber Dodzweit Riposta, Pro Athlete & Fitness Model: Why Real Empowerment Isn't Built on Abs & A Booty
"I love to work out, I love to run. And you know, there was no end goal for me. There was no body I had in mind. I just did what I was made to do what I love." - Amber Dodzweit Riposta, Ep88. The Monica Kade Podcast Yes, she’s beautiful, got a killer smile and is a weapon in the gym. And yes, she has a physique that so many women would kill for. But that’s not what I love most about this woman. What inspired me to have her on the podcast was her honesty, humility and ability to not take herself too seriously in an industry that does.   In Episode 88 of The Monica Kade Podcast: Why Real Empowerment Ain't Built On Abs & A Booty, I sit down with Amber Dodzweit Riposta; a women's circuit training expert, 13x fitness cover model, All-American Track and Field athlete and X-national champion professional tackle football player. She created BUILT FOR HER (an online women's athletic training club) in 2014 to teach women how to find freedom and a deeper sense of purpose through athletic training and empowerment. She lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and is married to Holistic Nutritionist Andrew Riposta. She also creates athletic training content for women from all over the world with the basis that a woman's appearance must always be secondary to her capabilities.  She’s had her own trials and tribulations like the rest of us, but it’s her determined nature that’s enabled her to rise into who she is today. Oh, and if you’re still hung up on her physique, you HAVE to listen to this conversation. Because as she shares, her love for working out was never to attain a particular body shape.  Our chat is a beautiful reminder around being true to oneself, following what you love and when we do so we give space for those around us to do the same.  I’ve watched her social media presence evolve over the years, and while I feel she’s always shared uplifting and empowering messages, it’s now more than ever that I resonate and feel her message is much needed in our world.  Oh, be sure to join her team for The Oxygen Challenge #5. Do that here. Learn About:  -  Her family, where she grew up and in what part they played in athletic interests -  How she got into fitness modelling -  How quickly her career took off and what she truly felt behind the success -  Who she became once she started fitness modelling -  What influence and impact the people around her had on her career and life -  Why she chose to walk away from a high flying fitness modelling career -  The most eye opening experience the modelling industry have given her -  What inspired her to be more real with her social media audience -  Does she think there’ll be a time in the future where body image won’t play such a huge part in our lives? -  How Built For Her (her online training club) came to fruition Signature Questions:  -  Sunset or Sunrise and why? -  What career would Amber attempt if not in her current one? -  A piece of wisdom she lives by?

Ep87. [Mind] Girl, (or Boy) Get It Off Your Chest!
In Episode 87 of Pep Talks for Your Soul, I talk about getting it off your chest.  I don't know about you, but for me expressing how I feel in the past was struggle street. I was much better at bottling it all up, keeping the peace and carrying all my feelings and emotions inside of me. I became a master bottler.  I was a professional at making it appear that my life was together or that I wasn't affected by things...until I wasn't. Or until I had a mental breakdown. And, if you relate, then you'll love this episode. And even if you don't have a problem expressing what you feel, maybe your partner does. Maybe your bestie does, and perhaps this will be the episode you can lovingly share and say, 'Hey, I thought you may like this'. To be the best version of ourselves (in each moment) we have to look at what's keeping us from being anything but that. That takes courage. It takes a willingness to say (to ourselves), I'm not being mature about how I'm feeling. And this approach of keeping things inside this treasure chest ain't serving me no more...I'm ready to step into a greater version of myself. More empowering right? Right. Hi-Five. Enjoy the episode. Oh, feel free to tag me on social with any of your takeaways. @MonicaKade

Ep85. Ren McGann, Big Wave Photographer: Why You Must Live Outside Your Comfort Zone
“It’s that rawness of being in the moment. There’s just so much going on around you. Your focus is so pinpointed…I find it so relaxing.” - Ep85. Ren McGann, The Monica Kade Podcast Ren McGann's and my path collided via Instagram. I very quickly fell in love with his big wave photographs and it wasn't long before gut instinct urged me to get him on the podcast show. I follow A LOT of wave photographers but over the years, nothing has moved me in the way his photography has. We got to chatting, and the more I found about him through his website and the other media articles that have featured him, the more I wanted to know. His down-to-earth nature, coupled with a genuine love for making connections and bettering the lives of those who cross his path really stood out for me. And so, this week I’m stoked to welcome Ren to Episode 85 of The Monica Kade podcast. He’s a Western Australian photographer specialising in big wave photography. He’s always had a fascination for big waves and extreme weather. His first trip to ‘The Right’—one of the biggest wave spots in the world—sparked his passion for photography and dramatically changed the direction of his life. He went from being a commercial mariner for 10 years, running all sorts of vessels out of Exmouth in eco-tourism, fishing, oil and gas, cray-fishing amongst others to immersing himself amongst mother nature's gnarliest yet magnificent waves and keenest surfers. If you haven’t seen his photography, you must. I’m a huge fan of big and burly waves, but Ren’s photos capture more than a wave. They’re imbued with something I just can’t put into words. I honestly loved this conversation with Ren and I hope you do too.  Learn About: - What inspired him becoming a mariner? - What he loved most about that part of his life - The mental challenge of breaking out of a good life and staying where he was - What the quote on his website, “We find ourselves through exploration” means to him - When and how his interest in photography came into focus - What it’s like to see the world through his eyes as a photographer - How he knows when the perfect moment is to take the shot - What he loves most about big waves - What he’s learned about himself through photographing big waves - The down low on what it’s really like for those of us who haven’t experienced being in the ocean around these waves? - What his fascination with waves is Plus much more! Signature Questions: Sunset or sunrise? What career he’d like to attempt if not in this one? What Being his Best looks like to him?

Ep 81. Kate Northrup, Best-selling Author & Entrepreneur: How You Can Do Less & Actually Have More Time & Space
"If you're not going to clear the space now...You're never going to have the space."  - Kate Northrup, Ep81. The Monica Kade Podcast Welcome to Episode 81 of The Monica Kade Podcast. Today we’re talking with Kate Northrup. She’s an entrepreneur, bestselling author, and mother, who discovered that her “on purpose” work and dream are to support ambitious, motivated and successful women to light up the world without burning themselves out in the process. Kate’s genuine nature, humorous soul and light-heartedness around the ups and downs of her life are what makes her so relatable. She's one of those rare people you meet and immediately feel like putting on the kettle so you can chit-chat over tea.  In this conversation, we also talk in-depth about her latest book, Do Less: A Revolutionary Approach to Time Management for Busy Moms. And I have to say, it’s been one of my favourite reads this year. There were so many moments where I was saying, ‘Yes. OMG. YES!’ The book found me in a time where I needed to ‘Do Less’ and honour my body’s needs so I could move forward with what I loved. What I love most about this book is its simple message: BE PRESENT. Go moment by moment.  If you’re like the many women in Kate’s community and me, sometimes you get too focused on all the to-do’s each day, that you forget to BE.  This book is a way to slow down, get clear on what truly matters—to you—and execute on only that. If you only pick up one book in 2019—to read, of course—pick Do Less. I cross my heart you won’t be disappointed. A read for all mothers and businesswomen.  Let’s build a world where busy isn’t glorified, and productivity and results aren’t tied to worth. >> Listen to the episode above. You’ll be bursting with newfound joy if you do! << LISTEN TO KATE NORTHRUP’S ‘DO LESS’ APPROACH SO YOU CAN BE MORE AND HAVE TIME FOR THE PEOPLE AND PROJECTS THAT YOU TRULY LOVE. Ep 80. Steph Lowe, The Natural Nutritionist: What's Real Food? Where do you begin? + Book Giveaway!
"I'm all for someone having a goal around performance or fat loss or whatever it might be that they come to see me for in the first place, but we have nothing without quality of life. There's no point being old if you're very unwell and on a whole suite of medications, at least in my opinion. That's not my idea of quality of life." - Steph Lowe, Ep80. The Monica Kade podcast In Episode 80 of The Monica Kade podcast I got to chat to the founder of The Natural Nutritionist, Steph Lowe. Steph started the The Natural Nutritionist as a way of celebrating the importance of real food—and she’s done an incredible job so far. And, if you didn’t know, aside from being a sports nutritionist, she’s a triathlete and author of The Real Food Athlete and most recently Low Carb, Healthy Fat Nutrition—today’s book giveaway. Because you’re grasping for every second to spend with your loved ones. Every minute counts." - Elle Halliwell, Ep78. The Monica Kade Podcast In Episode 78 of The Monica Kade podcast, I spoke with Elle Halliwell journalist, author and mum. By the time Elle and I sat down to chat, we’d already bonded over being Northern Beaches locals—although she’s now crossed the bridge and lives in Bondi, which is a shame, but I didn’t hold it against her. I’d also seen the sweetest mother and son happy snaps on her Instagram. And having read her book, A Mother’s Choice, I know the spark of magnificence young Tor is in her life today. For year’s Elle’s kept millions of Australians up to date on entertainment health and style—thanks to her work with the country’s top media outlets. Ep77. Scott Gooding, PT, Health Coach & Author: HOW TO BUILD YOUR HEALTH MASTER PLAN
“I think there's this urge and almost a need to get healthy by the weekend, you know? So people are constantly trying to find this quick, fast-hard solution. I want to get fit, I want to get lean, I want to get healthy by the end of the month or maybe even two months. But it doesn't really work like that. Your health will be measured by what you do most of the time over the longest period of time.”- Scott Gooding, Ep77. The Monica Kade podcast In Episode 77 of The Monica Kade podcast, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Scott Gooding; passionate cook, health-coach and PT. I felt very welcome in his Northern Beaches tropical oasis filled with light and surrounded by luscious palms and of course, the cicadas reminding you it’s summertime in Australia. I loved the laid-back beaches vibe that made you want to plonk yourself somewhere comfortable and disappear into a book, or pick up an acoustic guitar and play a little tune...Or try your hand at the 1000 piece puzzle that sat on the long communal table we sat down at. “It’s a bit of a rock ’n’ roll house”, Scott said with a grin as he showed me the image on the puzzle box. His mission was to piece together a group of colourful Australian animals eating ice creams. "The pastel colours in the background make it tricky..." he trailed off.  If his name sounds familiar, it might be that you’ve seen him on the semi-finals of Channel 7s My Kitchen Rules. Or maybe you have one of his books—possibly one from his Clean Living book series with one of our past guests Luke Hines. More recently he’s written The Keto Diet and The Keto Diet Cookbook, which we delved into in our conversation. We also chatted about his 8-week online health program giving you the essential ingredients to live a healthy lifestyle and feel great called RECONDITIONED. >>>Take a listen above and be sure to leave a review on iTunes sharing what you loved<<< INSIGHTS INTO SCOTT GOODING & HOW TO BUILD YOUR HEALTH MASTER PLAN Learn about: - When his love affair with good food and nutrition became something he wanted to pursue as a career? - How he learned to navigate a serious back injury lasting 7 years and how he healed himself? - Was The Scott Gooding Project Community what you set out to create? - Why inflammatory foods can be a major part poor health, chronic illness and disease - Why he created his 8-week online program, Reconditioned - What is a health Master Plan and why you should have one - Where do you start when building your health Master Plan - Paleo? FCC_Ep10 - Doing The Work
Welcome to episode 10 of the Fiercely Courageous Conversations podcast with Dr Rebecca Ray and myself, Monica Kade. Our aim is to provide thoughtful insight around how as women we limit ourselves from truly expressing who we are and how this manifests into our professional and personal lives. Today’s topic is ‘Doing the Work’. But you might ask, what ‘work’ are actually talking about? Well, we’re going to talk about two different kinds, one is self awareness and the inner work and 2) the creative work.
See, whatever we yearn to create in our lives, whatever the dream is we wish to bring to fruition, it will require physical and creative work, and it will also ask of us to have done the inner work first and this continues along our way. If you think you can get by without doing it, you’re out of luck. Well, I mean, you can try… But if you’re listening to this podcast, chances are your the type of person who’s willing. You’re the type of human that wants to be their best and live a courageous life. Both Beck and myself are here to support you on this journey, a guide you on your path of ‘Doing the Work’. Ep 75 Luke Hines, Nutrition Coach, Author & PT
"The most monumental change for me was that rather than knocking on the door and the door not opening, the door would open ajar...I had 15 seconds of an opportunity to put my foot in the door that I wouldn't have previously." - Luke Hines, Ep75. The Monica Kade Show In episode 75, we chat with Luke Hines. You may recognise Luke from My Kitchen Rules, or maybe you’ve seen him down at Bondi beach; or perhaps you own one of his 9 (well, now, 10) best-selling cookbooks. Luke is a nutrition coach, author and personal trainer with a great love for nutrient dense, delicious meals. His most recent cookbook release: Smart Carbs, has skyrocketed to popularity and landed itself on the bestseller list. Another one he can tuck under his belt. I love cooking, but I'm quite intuitive when I do it. However, I will say that Smart Carbs is the first cookbook that I’ve used and fallen in love with! The meals are so simple and straightforward. You can tell a lot of love and effort has been poured into this book! Also, if you’re a keto or low-carb eater like myself, you won’t know what recipe you’ll want to start with. I mean even if you’re not, you’ll want to devour the whole book. My chat with Luke makes it to my favourite guests' list and not just because he was such a trooper coming on the show only just getting his voice back that morning. Even so, his husky voice couldn’t cover up his down-to-earth nature and inspiring outlook on nutrition and helping others to live their best life. I hope you enjoy the episode. If you haven’t already seen it, check out his incredible documentary, The Magic Pill (trailer below) screening on Netflix and iTunes, which he produced himself. I was really taken aback by Pete’s generous responses to my questions. But what I loved most from our chat was his continuous reminder to (you, the listener) to always be in the moment and make conscious choices. His insights truly encourage you to empower yourself. Not to mention his passion is bloody infectious! He’s such delightful human being. Stoked to have had him on the show.

FCC Ep7. Being Enough
Episode 7 of the Fiercely Courageous Conversations series is tackling that big topic "Being Enough". It seems to bother a huge part of society so we decided to start talking about it. Being enough seems to be a crippling factor when it comes to going after our dreams, putting ourselves and our work out there and also can spurs feelings of inadequacy in our relationships. So why do we feel this way? What do we do about it? And can we shift this? Beck and I are here to dissect this fear and help you realise you are enough! This month we’d like to encourage you to share this episode with at least one person in your life. Being Enough is a topic that affects many women (and men) and we’d really like to share this with as many woman (and men) as possible! Help us spread this message. M/M Series: Ep. 3 - Free Your Mind
This conversation with Amir is most powerful. We look at two types of wants: You either want something because you need it or you want something because you love it. This episode highlights the key difference between the two. Amir talks about what stops you from freeing your mind and helps you understand how you place limitations on experiencing the moment for what it is by holding on to your past experiences and future ideas. And, we look at how ‘need’ influences our ability to bring to fruition — or manifest what we’d love. It’s a deep conversation, so sit back and immerse yourself fully. Oh - and find out if I took the Aerobatic flight he challenged me to take.

FCC Series: Ep. 5 - Managing Self Doubt & Imposter Syndrome - Fiercely Courageous Conversations
Welcome to Episode 5 of the Fiercely Courageous Conversations podcast with Dr Rebecca Ray and myself, Monica Kade. In today’s episode we’re tackling the topic of Managing self-doubt & Imposter Syndrome.
Self-doubt is the silent killer of ambition and dreams, and when we dabble with self doubt more often than not this invites thoughts of, “who am I to do this?” and from there we perpetually fuel imposter syndrome and further fearful thoughts.
Today, Beck and I want to shine light on how best to step away from these mindsets and move into ways where we can manage and potentially even absolve ourselves from questioning our self-worth. We’ll also touch on when self-doubt could be a protective mechanism, so you can recognise the difference and act accordingly. Our aim is to provide thoughtful insight around how as women we limit ourselves from truly expressing who we are and how this manifests into our professional and personal lives. fierce |fɪəs| - showing a heartfelt and powerful intensity We’d love to continue this month’s conversation on Instagram under the FCC Episode 5 banner via @MonicaKade’s Instagram page. Both of us will be reading the comments and answering any of your questions, so please get involved - we’d love to hear from you.

M/M Series: Ep. 2 Rising Above Fear
"It doesn’t matter the size of the fear. The size of the fear is big because you’re smaller than it. Still, you must rise." - Amir Zoghi, The Monica Kade podcast Welcome to Episode 2 of the Mind Over Matter 4-part mini-series. Today’s episode is about Rising Above Fear. In this conversation, Amir and I delve into the way fear can govern our life if we allow it. We discuss the ways that fear keeps us small and Amir beautifully shows you how you can bring awareness to the areas fear is driving the bus. We chat about why it’s not about getting rid of the thoughts in our mind, rather bringing stillness to the mind — and how you can do that. This discussion isn’t about changing your beliefs or reprogramming your mind in the way that the self-development and sometimes the spiritual world presents to us. It’s something far greater. So, tune in to learn how you can rise above fear. If you enjoy this episode and what Amir is talking on, then it's not too late to subscribe to his Mind over Matter 4-week challenge for FREE. Ep 66 Kait Rich, Coach - You Can Choose Your Life
“When we step back and look at what our priorities and know that we are choosing, then we have the option to choose something different. Otherwise we spend our whole lives feeling like a victim to our circumstance.” - Kait Rich, The Monica Kade podcast Meet Kait Rich. This delightful woman is a coach, speaker and luxury travel nomad supporting creative female entrepreneurs who want to live flexible lifestyles and experience the ultimate freedom — freedom from limiting beliefs that hold them back from the big game they were born to play. Kait grew up in Canada and started her career like many other ambitious women, climbing the corporate ladder, first as a broadcast journalist and then as a political speech writer and communications advisor. When Kait’s type-A drive pushed her too far, and she was diagnosed with debilitating rheumatoid arthritis, she was faced with a choice: continue burning the candle at both ends for a miserable life she was “supposed” to want and risk not having her health... Or start again. So she quit her job, packed up her life and began travelling the world full-time, working with thousands of professionals in more than 12 countries. Fast forward 7 years later, Kait runs Adventuress Experience, a year-long intensive online and retreat program for female entrepreneurs and professionals in transition, who feel stuck, stagnant and want more for their lives and businesses. In our conversation you’ll learn about : > How Kait came to starting Adventuress Experience. > What she loves about travelling? > What’s been one of her greatest lessons she’s learnt through health problems? > The difference she sees in coaching, consulting and therapy. > What drives her about the work she does today. > Self judgement, perception, perfection and taking action and how these impact your life. > The power of choice and are you aware of what you’re choosing. Try this: When facing a situation or circumstance that brings up fear or discomfort, stop. Take a deep breath, calm yourself first. Then ask yourself: What else can that mean? “Curiosity is communication through questions. Certainty is communicated through statements.” - JP Sears Meet JP Sears. He's an emotional healing coach, international teacher, event speaker, world traveller and curious student of life. His work empowers people to live more meaningful lives. He is very active on his YouTube channel, AwakenWithJP, where he encourages healing and growth through his entertainingly informative, humorous and inspiring videos including his hit Ultra Spiritual comedy series. There are so many golden nuggets to tuck into your pocket within this soundbite. The conversation with JP Sears offers up many insights around business, life and how we can address our biggest critic - that voice in our head. “Use the rules, but don’t follow them. The strategies are not there as a foundation but as structures to what our solid foundation is. Our solid foundation comes from our heart, our creativity; our mind and the inclination we have to serve people.” He reminds us that “if we’re willing to do the humble thing, of moving one step at a time”, we can take action on the projects, ideas and opportunities that to our mind seem scary. It’s never about the “how” rather, focus your attention on the love you have for something and follow that moment-by-moment. And if you think this is a little bit woo-woo or too spiritual, why not jump in anyway and listen to a new perspective. You can only learn something. You will only open your mind. At the end of the day, we each have fears to conquer, this conversation simply offers solutions around how you overcome your limitations and do more than just exist. David Kwong, Hollywood Illusionist - Wired For Wonder + The Moment HQ
“The energy you give off is a very real thing. When you want something too much, you might give off this anxious energy that scares people away because you’re trying too hard to impress somebody.” - David Kwong David Kwong. He is an illusionist and puzzle expert who believes that human beings are driven by the urge to solve problems and “create order out of chaos”. He is also the founder of the Misdirectors Guild, an elite group of magicians that specialise in magic for film and television. He’s spoken at TED and As the head magic consultant, David created illusions for the bank-heist film Now You See Me, teaching magic to Jesse Eisenberg, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Mark Ruffalo and Woody Harrelson. He has also designed magic and puzzles for Ant-Man, The Imitation Game, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, to name a few. When we push ourselves too hard and come from a space of “needing” and “wanting” we send out the message that we cannot have what we desire. That’s when we find ourselves facing roadblocks, burning out, flailing and repelling opportunities and people. Our conversation with David reminds us that it’s about “finding something that you truly love and doing it in an authentic way.” He stresses that “authenticity is the real key”. Whatever it is that inspires you and has your creative juices flowing, follow that. Explore it with tenacity and work your magic. And keep doing working at it even when you find yourself staring obstacles in the face. There's always a way to figure out the puzzle. “Sometimes things fall apart, and you have to pick yourself up and try again. The fancy term is you iterate. You pivot left and right, back and forth until you find the next way to accomplish things.” An honest discussion about creativity, wonder and pursuing what you’re here to accomplish. “Constantly simplify your life to the most important people and things.” - Dandapani Dandapani is a Hindu priest, speaker on self development and an entrepreneur. For 10 years he lived a life of serious personal discipline, training at a monastery in Hawaii. When his vows expired eight years ago He made New York City his new home, determined to live and practice everything he teaches in the most invigorating and challenging city in the world. He works with a variety of individuals, companies and organisations around the world conducting training through workshops, retreats and exclusive coaching circles. Dandapani says, each year we have more people in our lives (and more Facebook friends) yet we don’t have more energy. By being vigilant and mindful of who we give our time and energy to we actually create more space for what we truly love to enter our lives. In this conversation Dandapani explains the difference between concentration, meditation and mindfulness. He gives us an very simple activity to do daily that will support us to become masters in concentration. “If you really look at it, most people are so distracted that they can’t focus and the reason they can’t focus primarily is one is they never learnt to concentrate and second they don’t practice it. So if you never learn it and don’t practice it, you’re never good at it.” A inspiring and insightful discussion around how effortlessly we can change our lives and foster creativity by adopting a concentration and meditation practice. “Quite often when I take my attention off something, the back part of my brain will find a solution for me without me having to pursue and chase it.” - Guy Edmonds With over two decades of combined experience in the entertainment industry, Guy Edmonds and Matt Zeremes are internationally acclaimed actors, producers, directors, writers and inspirational coaches who also run a production company Boomshaka Film. As filmmakers and actors, they understand how people communicate and what makes them tick; by drawing on actor training methods, proven storytelling techniques and even some film history. Guy and Matt provide an entertaining, practical and engaging experience, with learnings that can be implemented immediately. This conversation will hopefully have you laughing at the candid and humorous nature of both Guy and Matt. After I gave them notes to speak in past tense (as the recording was being released after the event)...well, let's just say that was an #EPICFAIL. Regardless, this soundbite takes you behind the scenes to witness what “going with the flow” looks like and how to adapt to your environment without losing your mind or calling cut. They share with us how they foster their own creativity daily and what keeps them wondering. You’ll hear how acting techniques and methods can be adopted and utilised in business (and life) - even if you’re not an actor. “We talk a lot about rehearsal, practice and preparation to give you the ability to come across confident, with your communication skills firing while appearing at ease and engaging people.” - Matt Zeremes You’ll also learn how they teach those they work with to “be” more confident and charismatic. These gents are a hoot, and if you missed them at Wired for Wonder, let them brighten your day now. Want to create a soundbite series for your audience? You can! Ant Williams, Freediver - Wired For Wonder + The Moment HQ
“I used to believe that we are at our happiest when we are content and really comfortable, but that’s not really true. The greatest moment of happiness when we set a significant goal for ourselves; one that has a purpose in our lives and we overcome that challenge. That will always revolve around us sitting in discomfort and dealing with our fears.” - Ant Williams Ant Williams is a freediver who can hold his breath for eight minutes underwater using just one breath and no tanks. He can dive 100 metres down, into the ocean and safely return to the surface. What’s really cool about this is Ant didn’t even begin freediving until he was 30. Ant was working as a Sport Psychologist coaching big wave surfers, race car drivers, rock climbers and other risk takers how to break through mental barriers when he realised, he hadn’t done anything risky in his life himself – an epiphany that led to freediving and overcoming the struggle to equalise the body while it is under extreme pressure. Facing fear, challenging boundaries and exploring our human potential is what our conversation with Ant is about. He takes us under his wing and shares with us the world of freediving, what it is and the realities that accompany this extreme sport. Plus, he shares some great tips to help us all reframe our thinking in our moments of great challenge. These simple steps can be adopted into your life right now, and you don’t have to be in the sports industry for them to be relevant. Ant is a big advocate of learning about oneself through adventure. Join us as we discuss self-awareness, conquering our inner critic and learning to be comfortable with the unknown. So take a deep breath and enjoy the ride of our discussion, which will leave you (hopefully) ready to jump all in to discover your true human potential.
