The Mr. Pole Jangles' Big Disc Show - a podcast celebrating disc golf
By Mr. Pole Jangles
Welcome to the Big Disc Show! This is the basically the Mr. Pole Jangles solo version of the "Slappin' Disc show" when Treesbane is indisposed. Think of it as the “Jamming with Edward” version of "Slappin' Discs." Follow Mr. Pole Jangles on twitter @mrpolejangles and Treesbane @wilhelm4ever
In the time of COVID-19, Mr. Pole Jangles bravely takes the portable basket to a park in Overland Park in order to get in some much needed disc golf practice and conducts a feasibility study on the park's worthiness of having some Pole Holes installed.
Mr. Pole Jangles is joined by Air Scooter as they traverse the jungle on a 9-hole course in Dunedin, Florida. Would they have an encounter with an alligator? Would they play all 9 holes? Would they get attacked by dogs or their walkers? Listen to find out!
Unbeknownst to even himself, Mr. Pole Jangles had left Harmon Park off of the Big Disc Show Podcast (prolly because we had done it several times with Treesbane on Slappin' Discs KC). At any rate. He played it. He solo podcasted it. Enjoy listening to him descend into the depths of disc golf lunacy.
In an apparent effort to inspire some more do-it-yourself disc golf course podcasts, Mr. Pole Jangles re-visits the only Disc Golf Course in Overland Park, Kansas on a crazy windy day. For what it is worth, this area is still considered Stilwell, KS on iPhones.
Mr. Pole Jangles has a safari-style exploration of 8 of the 18 holes at Carrollton DGC before his daughter's rock climbing competition (with a little bonus coverage after and the introduction of "Perfect Putter).
Mr. Pole Jangles takes Emmett Disc-Hume out on his first 18 hole disc golf course in Mesa, Arizona before they head out to a spring training baseball game. Please note: ignore everything that is said about the San Francisco Giants as the 2 were mistaken and were actually headed to see the Dodgers playing the Reds.
Mr. Pole Jangles goes to Bashor-Linwood Middle School to check out a 9 hole course on a cloudy day in November. This was the first day after daylight savings ended so he was desperately trying to squeeze in a round before it got too cold and too dark.
Mr. Pole Jangles heads back out to Prairie Center Disc Golf Course after going to the dentist on a hot Tuesday afternoon in October. The original podcast with Treesbane can be found here: https://anchor.fm/slappindiscskc/episodes/Slapping-Discs-KC-at-Prairie-Center--Olathe-Kansas-e173l5
This is a companion podcast to the podcast from May 8, 2018 on the Slappin' Discs podcast site when Mr. Pole Jangles, Treesbane and Blue Ray could not finish the last 8 holes due to a disc golf tournament getting ready to start.
Mr. Pole Jangles returns in this episode to finish out the remaining holes...and investigate new updates to the course...and play really terrible disc golf...and to complain and rant about nothing really...and to provide bonus hole coverage...and to drink beer...several beers really...
Please Note: This is a mini companion podcast to the original podcast for the De Soto Wildcats DGC from March 27, 2018. To understand some references it may be necessary to go back to that podcast and give it a listen first. I debated on simply adding it to the original podcast, but ultimately just felt it was easiest to have a separate one.
Mr. Pole Jangles returned to Wildcat DGC in De Soto, KS on his way back from Eudora DGC. With wet feet but a cocky disposition he searched to and fro for the elusive hole 6 teepad utilizing new technology. Did he succeed in finding it? Listen in and find out.
Listen to Mr. Pole Jangles struggle with the new version of the UDisc app while trying to do a podcast while trying to play a decent round of Disc Golf and not hold anyone up. All while not drinking a beer...despite desperately wanting/needing one.
