Conversations with Mudia Imasuen

By Mudia Imasuen

Discovering the art of unpolarized conversations. Here we talk about anything, from trending topics to personal ideas that we'd love to discuss out loud to theories we think can improve the lives of those we share it with.

Let's have a chill (or heated) conversation. This should be fun.
I am back!
I am back!
So I know it has been a while, life has been a rollercoaster of events these past few months and I am learning to navigate new emotions. Then again it is not a good enough excuse to stop creating yeah? So I plan to upload the rest of my recorded episodes and also work on a new long-form style of podcast similar to what we have on Hidden Brain's podcast. I really missed you guys.  LFG!!!

Wonder woman building the metaverse
Wonder woman building the metaverse
Bio 1.0: In this series, I basically have conversations with my friends about the journey so far, we are connecting the dots in hindsight. I get to also connect with them on a deeper level. Listen in and enjoy. On this episode, I speak with Mercy Markus, who started out with the community in Colab and has worked as a data scientist in PayLater (now carbon) and is now a software engineer at Microsoft working with the mixed reality team as a software engineer, building the Metaverse for work.

We are all we have
We are all we have
Opeyemi and I get together to have a podcast about some of the things we care deeply about. Family, community, relationships and society. I'd love to write a lengthy description of this, but I think you'd get more value just listening to it. One thing is evident, his guiding principle and life philosophy is deeply rooted in this saying—"We are all we have".

Major Tech Bro
Major Tech Bro
Bio 1.0: In this series, I basically have conversations with my friends about the journey so far, we are connecting the dots in hindsight. I get to also connect with them on a deeper level. Listen in and enjoy. I have known Atti for a few years, my first introduction to him was to help out in building an edu-tech startup for him (Tertfinder). We jumped on a few calls and I and a dev started some work on the product, a few weeks down the line we are having a conversation and he casually mentions that he is in the airforce. I honestly found it had to believe it completely until I had drinks with him and a few of his air force friends at the base.  He is a retired major now, and is giving his full and undivided attention to the world of tech—oh I should mention that he is also a front end developer, lol.  Well, listen in and hear about his journey so far.

Connecting the dots in retrospect
Connecting the dots in retrospect
Bio 1.0: In this series, I basically have conversations with my friends about the journey so far, we are connecting the dots in hindsight. I get to also connect with them on a deeper level. Listen in and enjoy. Olusegun Aribido is one of the people I love to call learning machines, the man upskills like crazy and studies a lot so he can advance his craft and have a better understanding of the world, he is a super-focused soul (a little too focused), but also extremely playful and kind. He also happens to be a pretty good tailor and an amazing product designer, hear his journey from the world of fashion into digital product design. Eavesdrop and enjoy.

If Ole Solskjaer could do it, anybody can.
If Ole Solskjaer could do it, anybody can.
Bio 1.0: In this series, I basically have conversations with my friends about the journey so far, we are connecting the dots in hindsight. I get to also connect with them on a deeper level. Listen in and enjoy. Oselu Irabor is a hilarious fellow, my friend, brother and flatmate. You would always see him watching weird series, sleeping, listening to a podcast or album or breaking down everyday life issues with football analogies. He also happens to be a freaking amazing product illustrator.  Listen to him talk about his learning journey and development so far.  😇

Great Artists — Copy
Great Artists — Copy
This is the first episode of my monologue series, I would be doing a lot of this (fingers crossed) here I am talking about copying as way to learn design. Enjoy.

Kaizen — 改善, かいぜん, grow and improve daily.
Kaizen — 改善, かいぜん, grow and improve daily.
Kaizen is a Japanese word and principle that is heavy on the concept of improvement, while commonly used in management and assembly lines, it can also be taken as a personal life principle, my friend Kola Ojo is one of the few people I have met who live by this principle. In this episode, he would be talking about how he improved on himself over time. Listen in and answer the question below. 😇😇

Marvel fans discuss spidy and the MCU
Marvel fans discuss spidy and the MCU
I looooooooove movies a whole lot. A few weeks ago when the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer dropped I was mind blown and excited. So I sent out a tweet asking if a fellow movie and comic lover like myself would love to geek out for half an hour. On this episode Miebaka Joshua and I would talk about Spiderman, Doctor Strange, What If...? and our introduction to comics and the MCU.

Working Multiple Jobs As a Nigerian
Working Multiple Jobs As a Nigerian
One of the effects of the pandemic was making the talent market become global. Now people have the opportunity to work multiple jobs remotely if they can manage their time effectively. Then again working multiple jobs pre-dates the talent boom, even when people did not have the luxury of working remotely. We want to talk about it and see if we can figure out why. Charles Isidi or as I fondly call him (Erah Zee) is an amazing Brand Storyteller and a Growth Marketer.  Listen In. 😇 It would have been great if we touched on burnout in this episode but we did not, I have that planned out for a separate episode.

Design Hiring is Broken in Nigeria
Design Hiring is Broken in Nigeria
Where do great designers come from? They fall from the sky of course. Angels who are sent to earth to create such beautiful products. Well assuming that is not the case, how do we ensure that we keep producing great designers (developers also) to work with the companies at home as well as global companies?  Caleb, popularly known as abstract onion is a product designer at Convertkit and also the founder of the fast-growing design community Àșà Coterie. Get your headset (or loudspeakers) and eavesdrop on this interesting conversation.

The Pilot 🚀
The Pilot 🚀
I love having conversations, I am intrigued with the thought process of people and how they can vary on the same topic. I am a Product Designer but I do not plan to make this podcast all about design, we are going to talk about a ton of things. Tech, design(duh), marriage, movies, learning and societal issues.  The best way to enjoy the episodes would simply be to listen to them while carrying out your daily activities like driving, washing the dishes, designing a product etc. If you enjoy the conversations, share with the people you know. Cheers. ❤️
