My ADHD Moment Live is about distracting people from the stress of everyday life by sharing humorous stories that only a person with adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) could possibly experience. Each episode is about what can happen
with a little dopamine deprivation, some intense stress, and general lack of focus that comes free inside with ADHD. Join me each week when I share my most hilarious ADHD moments.

I'd like to welcome listeners on four new platforms. Those are Amazon, iHeartRadio, Spotify, and Podcast Addict. Welcome to all of you.

There are also listeners from many countries that Julie would like to welcome to the show. Those countries include, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Ireland, India, Israel, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Turkey, Saint Lucia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and of course my home country, the United States of America.  There is a widely diverse audience and that just goes to show that ADHD knows no geographical boundaries unless of course you are just here for the laughs and don't have ADHD. ADHD is not a requirement. Julie appreciates all of you and thank you for listening.

Julie talks about the pitfalls of caring for her terminally ill husband while waiting for the doctors to order hospice services. If you think something simple like a hospital bed would be simple to operate, listen to this episode to hear the frustrations that Julie had just trying to operate the control for the bed.

In previous episodes, Julie has mentioned some of her wardrobe malfunctions but does it stop there? Not a chance. She victimized her husband with some of her fashion failures while caring for him.

You won't want to miss Julie's laughable view on how helpful the comfort meds that the Hospice team provided for her husband could be in other circumstances.

Season 2 - Episode 1 - ADHD Day at the Beach

In this episode, Julie talks about how she's having problems with some of the new policies like one way aisles at the grocery store as businesses reopen to the public. She did enjoy the way she was escorted into the electronics store so she didn't get lost though.

Then Julie talks about a town that opened beaches exclusively for those with Autism or ADHD and shares her idea about how that may have gone.

Julie also wonders if there's a special identification on a driver's license in the UK where those who have been diagnosed with ADHD must disclose the diagnosis to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency-DVLA.

Season 1 - Episode 8 - Advice From The Non-ADHD Crowd

In this episode I talk about all the crazy things that people who do not understand me or adult ADHD ask and the advice they give me.

They tell me that a routine will help things go real smooth and they think I should try meditation. Then they ask me things like, "Why can't you just retrace your steps when you lose something?" If only it were that simple.

One woman even asked, “What are you like in real life?”

What? I’m living my real life! I didn’t just create some alter ego and play some fictional role in life. My dynamic personality is who I am and it I’m telling you, nobody makes this stuff up.

Surprising Way Your Neanderthal Genes May Affect You

The DRD4 7R gene makes you think like a Neanderthal. If you've got this Neanderthal gene activated, you become sensation-seeking, risk-taking, impulsive, and highly creative. You don't think like modern humans, you "think differently." Welcome to the tribe. We're ADHD, bipolar, addictive personalities. One might wonder are these people mad or genius? And the answer is yes. We are. We are mad and genius. We love to ride that fine line between genius and insanity. We bring that double-edged sword to the table.

The Curious Personality of the DRD4-7r Allele Gyrification, risk taking, and greater attention to negativity by Jack Pemment MA, MS

In recent years, the DRD4 gene has remained the target of attention for its association with a number of the key staples of common behavioral disorders and illnesses – ADHD, Schizophrenia, and excessive gambling to name a few. The use of dopamine within the brain typically facilitates executive functioning and decision making, reward and feel-good systems, and motor functioning, and for these reasons, dopamine-related dysfunction is often associated with problematic behavior.
