We're late again, but we're back!! We're going to start posting more, guys, I promise! We love you very much. This week we talk about insurance problems, the noises cartoon characters make when they sleep, and Natalie wins "My Ex and I Gamer of the Year!"
Episode 139: To Die In Indiana
Welcome back after Thanksgiving, baby!
This episode was recorded a couple weeks ago, but we talk about Michael dog-sitting for Natalie in Chicago for a week, Natalie's trip to North Carolina, Michael almost dying in Indiana, and the great Pokemon v. collecting rocks debate. We love you!!
Episode 138: Gettin' Serious and Takin' House, MD Quizzes
Hey, you lovely people!
We recorded this a couple weeks ago, but it's a ride, man! I was sick because I got my COVID booster, Natalie was having allergies because she lives with an animal to which she is allergic, but we still have a good time! We talk about some series subjects, Natalie flying for the first time in years and quizzes Michael on the wonderful show House, MD, and much more!
Episode 137: We're Back, Baby!
I wish we had some super cool excuse for missing, but honestly life was just busy! We're back, though, and we have multiple episodes ready to go, so don't worry!! We love ya, friend. I hope you're doing well!
Episode 136: A Missing Cat, An Abandoned Barn, & Too Much Disco
I'm so sorry I'm a day late, gang! I've had some bad bleeds recently, and they've totally thrown my schedule off. This is Michael, by the way. This is a big episode! We talk about how I got a hip bleed while looking for someone's lost cat, Natalie talks about her boyfriend moving in with her, we do a Wikipedia speedrun, and so much more!!
Episode 135: A Little Amuse-bouche
That's right...we've done it again. Another episode! This week we talk about what our shared podcast house would look like if it were real, video game emulation (Natalie's idea), Michael's cat being sick (he's better now, don't worry), Natalie's mom visiting and meeting her new boyfriend, Disneyland, Jordan Peterson inspiring some guy with whom Natalie once went on a date to do karate, vibrators, and so much more.
Thank you all for sticking with us! We love you very much. This podcast is so much fun to make, and we hope you're still having fun and being cute!
Episode 134: Michael Cuts His Mouth on a Salad
We're back at it! Michael cuts his mouth eating a salad...Natalie goes to an outlet mall, and we talk about Hot Topic, Michael becoming the poster boy for his hemophilia medication, block parties, Good Will Hunting, and more things!! We love you!
Episode 133: A Good Tool Blames Art
We talk Starfield, we talk Chicago, we talk the imbalance of Mario Party, we talk death pools. You know. Standard stuff. We love you! We're sorry about the inconsistent posting. We've been busy, ya know? We're glad you're here.
Episode 132: You Know Droopy? (ft. Karen "Connie" Bishop!)
Michael's mom did an episode with us! It was very fun and cool! We were all together in Chicago and made beautiful memories!
In this episode, Michael expands the Gumby lore, we express our disapproval for America's Funniest Home videos, and we tell Connie a story about the time we put Fin and Munch (the cats) in a laundry basket. Hope you have a fun time listening!
Episode 131: Michael's Killer Cricket Impression
Hiiiii we're back! Got a nice classic homestyle episode here for you. Michael has a cricket problem! Natalie is going through a major life change! Also, there are some stressed out fish at the aquarium, I'll tell you what.
Episode 130: My Ex & I on Shark Tank (with Alex Brandel!)
Good morning, good morning! We are joined in this episode by one Alex Brandel, of the intro fame! We said his name enough times that he appeared in the studio. And of course, by the studio, we mean Michael's mom's house. Brandel came on and recreated some of our best bits, much like he did on our 50th episode. Brandel is officially the arbiter of our greatest hits. If you thought a bit was funny, but Brandel disagrees, sorry, it wasn't funny. Enjoy!
Episode 129: Wood and Wishes
Greetings and salutations, treasured listener. We've missed ya! You look great today! This is a fun episode. We chit chat a little bit and then dive into some interactive fun. We hope you enjoy!
Episode 128: Little Babies on the Floor
It's an in-person podcast! Recorded on Natalie's living room floor! Which actually created a lot of editing issues for Paige and we are sorry about that! We learned why people do not typically record podcasts while rolling around on the floor! This episode was really fun to record, we had that in-person energy that you just can't beat. We get a little #deep and also a little #silly, call us Hannah Montana cuz it's the best of both worlds.
Episode 127: The Barbie Episode
SPOILERS FOR THE BARBIE MOVIE! Seriously. We had a long talk about if we wanted to do spoilers this episode and decided to go ahead and do it. We never talk abut relevant pop culture things so this is new for us. If you haven't see the Barbie movie yet, may we recommend one of our 126 other episodes to tide you over until you see it? And if you have already listened to the other 126... damn. Thank you.
Episode 126: Rocket League Fan Fiction (with Ryan Chernick!)
Welcome, welcome! Natalie is currently getting a root canal, so you're stuck with me (the other one) to write this. This week Ryan Chernick joins us to talk about Boston, but we also talk about fan fiction, Chicago Hospitals, Taylor Swift, and more things!! It's a hoot and a holler.
Episode 125: The USSR's Miraculous Mission to Put a Probe on the Surface of Venus
First of all, I need you all to know that since we recorded this episode, Michael followed my advice for a haircut and he looks great. 10/10 a handsome fellow. We've got an absolutely SMASHING episode here for you today. It's been like a week since we recorded it though so I kinda forget what we talked about. Let's find out together!
Episode 124: Natalie Loves NASCAR!
We're so sorry we're late, gang! But we're back! We're here with some discussions of NASCAR, some movies we saw this week that we hated, the return of the Volcano Taco menu, and more things!! We love you very much.
Episode 123: The Elegant Episode
Shoulders back, pinky out! This episode requires your best manners. We're donning our fanciest fits and inviting you to an elegant listening experience. We talk about napkin etiquette, a new show Michael is into, and the historic contributions of mice. Enjoy!
Episode 122: Dogs Aren't Allowed at Mt. Rushmore
Listener, did you know that there's a big problem with the flow of traffic at Mt. Rushmore? Fortunately, the good people who write Google reviews have given us a heads-up. This week, we mine for more gold inside of the Google review cavern. And honestly, that's about it, that's the episode. Where do YOU think is the funniest place that has Google reviews? Let us know and maybe we can milk this bit a little more.
Episode 121: The Sci-Fi Episode
This is Michael. I'm writing this while on the phone with Natalie, so this description will be a unique blend of our two creative forces, never before seen in a text-based format. She's giving me the ideas of what to write, but specifically told me to put my own spin on it. Boy, do we have a great episode for you this week. And a great description. We talked about umm...if Natalie sits on her foot too much, anndddd, didn't I talk about Rocket League kind of a lot? We talked about science fiction, how embarrassing it is to be creative and name things, and some other fun things. I will now add a "bow" to the description. Onomatopoeia is a fun word, huh? We love you.
Episode 120: Bang Bang, Not Swish Swish
Choo-choo! A brand new episode is pulling into the station! During this episode, Natalie spends a lot of time detailing a recent cinematic marvel she had the privilege of looking at with her eyeballs. Michael extols the various accomplishments of Ludacris. We both discuss the differences between Space Jam and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. And much more!
Episode 119: My Dogs are Barking!
Backstreet's back (and so are we), alright! Sorry we missed a week and didn't say anything about it. It's been a period of ecstasy (Natalie rode some roller coasters) and agony (Michael went to the hospital) and these two raw human experiences really depleted our respective emotional bandwidths. BUT we're back with a classic, down-home, good ol' fashion episode of the My Ex & I podcast. Enjoy!
Episode 118: In Which Natalie Becomes a Gamer
Hello! This episode is a little bit different, because Natalie got a new gaming laptop and needed some lessons from Michael about it, and that's pretty much the entire episode. Can you believe there is not Fashion category on Steam? Seems ridiculous.
Episode 117: ...I Hate It
Do you think that The Flintstones and The Jetsons took place at the same time? Do you think that a smiley face is too ubiquitous to be a sign of a serial killer? Do you buy way too many tools and materials when starting a new hobby? If you answered "yes" "no" or "huh?" to any of these questions, you will enjoy this episode of the My Ex & I podcast! Natalie discusses Queen Charlotte! Michael talks about all of the very cool discord servers he's on! Let's go!
Episode 116: The Clean Episode
Hey hey hey, it's time to press play, on this podcast episode that is new today! Did you like that little rhyme? I made it for you, just like I made this podcast for you. And I mean, it wasn't just me. Michael helped, and so did Paige. We talked about a lot today, including Natalie's nightmare trip to the doctor, and Michael's nightmare trip to the dentist. We also try out some new sound effects and things don't go to plan, largely because there was not a plan, we heard them for the first time as we were recording.
Episode 115: Howp
Okay, re: the episode title, listen to the episode, hear the sound we're making, and then tell us how YOU would spell it. Obviously it starts with an H. That's not even up for debate. But the rest of the word is a mystery that only you can solve. Paige is team "houm" by the way. This is a fun episode! We answer audience questions! We talk about birds and mermaids and taking communion! We hope you like it!
Episode 114: My Ex & I Go to a Wedding (with Paige!)
Dear listener, I won't try to be modest, this episode absolutely rules. It was recorded in person, in a hotel room, the night before the wedding event of the year! What's more, we have a special appearance from our editor extraordinaire, Paige! Longtime listeners will know that Paige is also our DM aka Dungeon Daddy for our D&D campaign, and she surprised us by having us play a little during this episode! Don't miss it. What are you doing still reading this? Click play!
Episode 113: Slumdog Million Dollar Baby
Listen, if this episode is not as fun as it could be, I blame Zoom. It sometimes made it hard for me (Natalie) to hear Michael's little quips. And listeners of this podcast will know that Michael's little quips are often the best part. But aside from that, it's a nice little episode for ya! We talk about movies, revisit some memories, and Michael tries (and fails, I retained nothing) to teach me about skateboarding. Love you!
Episode 112: Umperee
Extra extra, read all about it! Two people who were very and silly recorded a podcast episode! This one is kinda wacky, and we get to learn a lot about Michael's favorite bird. Hope you like it!
Episode 111: Fun, Whimsical, Lizzie McGuire
Bonjour! Would you like a slice of new episode? We just pulled it out of the oven, it's hot and fresh just for you. This week we talk about some serious stuff and also not-so-serious stuff. We have discussions about topics, and recorded it. You know, like a podcast. Hope you like it!
Episode 110: The Beach Scene
Listeners, there are some episodes where I feel like we just have it, you know? We just got it. This is one of those. It's just here. We done did it. This is it. You know? I know you know. Hope you enjoy!
Episode 109: My Driveway is the Street
Listeners, why did the cucumber need a hairbrush? In this episode, we attempt to uncover the truth. We also talk about art, Natalie's birthday, and how Michael ALWAYS makes Natalie watch scary movies. It's ridiculous. Hope you like it!
Episode 108: Chingy Eat World
Yes! Hello! It is us! Here with another episode to feed your ears! We're got games, we're got Hinge messages, we've got Rocket League, everything you've come to expect from a rousing episode of this podcast. Enjoy!
Episode 107: Go to School!
Howdy! Are you in the mood to hear someone poorly explain the plot to Les Mis for like 45 minutes? If not, I wouldn't recommend this episode to you, because that's mostly what it is. Other talking points include: Michael explains what the phrase "correlation does not equal causation" means, Natalie extolls the joys of Pisces season, and neither of us knows what's up with those British guards with the tall hats who don't talk. Also, we are definitely not vampires (wink).
Episode 106: Thirty Bugs Have Died, Congratulations
Greetings!! We come to you today with this humble offering of an episode, we hope it pleases you. In this hour-long romp, we introduce our new producers Kevin and Rasputin. Natalie describes her new love of friend bananas and Michael brags about donating to Wikipedia. We hope you have a fun time while listening! We love ya!
Episode 105: Dance, Court Jester
Helloooooo! How ya doin? Doin good? Staying hydrated?
This episode takes a second to find itself, but once it does, you're gonna love it. Basically what you need to know is that we do an hour of a normal episode, and then spend the last 30 minutes in an impassioned discussion about which animated characters we would bone. Thanks for listening!! You're cool!!
Episode 104: Do You Feel This?
A new episode has arrived! Welcome one and all! This is a fun one, Natalie gets her nervous energy out by telling some tales and gives Michael some tiktok recommendations. Michael shares some ideas for comedy sketches that are fine. Thanks for listening! We think you're great!
Episode 103: My Ex and I and Lil Wayne
Toodleloo! Is that something you say a a greeting or a goodbye? Looks like that's a mystery you'll have to solve. We've got a great episode for y'all here. Michael starts us off with a dynamite mouse fact and it only goes up from there. Hope you like it!
Episode 102: Out to Pasture
Howdy! In this episode, we talk about healing, and also about what Matty Healy has been up to at his music concerts. I almost called this episode "Matty Healing" but figured that would be a stretch. But that's a pretty good name for a thing, right? Maybe for his eventual solo album? Matty, call me.
We also talk about Michael discovering the concept of heartburn as a child, what trauma means to us, and the song International Harvester by Craig Morgan. It's a very My Ex & I kind of episode, ya know? Anyway, hope you're having a good day!
Episode 101: Furries and Future Plans
Hey! You look great today. Thanks for listening to another episode! It's 101, baby. We're in a new year!
This week we talk about our future plans, therapy, Pete Holmes again, furries, current events, and a bunch of life updates and stuff! It's a good one, and we're happy to be back! I hope you had a wonderful holiday and new year's.
We love ya!
Episode 100: Eat Fruit and Pay Attention
Dear listeners,
Today we are publishing our 100th episode. That is a very wild thing to write. We started podcasting two years ago and had no idea that we'd find ourselves a supportive group of fantastic folks who would want to listen. In this episode we attempt to give back to you by providing you with 100 pieces of advice. Most of it is probably bad, but hey, nothing was going to be Pete Holmes, so we took a swing.
Thank you for listening. It's been a weird end of the year, but we're glad you're here. That rhymed. Fun!
My Friends & I Special #5: Getting Reacquainted (ft. Michael!) (Yes, that Michael!) (He's back, baby!)
My Friends & I Special #4: Various Macarons (ft. Sebo!)
It's the Sebosode! The Sebisode! We never really found a spelling that felt right but if you say it out loud, the mouthfeel is solid! This week, Sebo joins us all the way from Cleveland (ugh)(but it's fine I guess)(honestly, so many people I love live there so I should really come around to it, but UGH)! Sebo takes a stand for his city and discovers his fairy identity. Paige and Sebo reveal GM confessions. I say the word "macarons" more in one sitting more than I ever have in my entire life and still don't know if I pronounced it right.
Big big thank you to Sebo for coming on!! And as always, thank you to Paige, for everything but especially that couch, I truly cannot stress how good it is.
My Friends & I Special #3: Top of the Class (ft. Zach!)
Helloooooo we are back with another My Friends and I Special! This week we are joined by the most Notable Libra in Illinois, Zach! Zach brought the absolute most perfect game for me this week and it involves him reading lines of poetry. Let me tell you, I could listen to this guy read poetry for hours. In retrospect, I should have just had this episode be Zach reading for an hour in a half. That is what this podcast could have become under my regime. But, I didn't do that, and instead we made a super fun episode that I hope you enjoy listening to!
Thank you Zach for spending time with me on Paige's couch! As always, thank you Paige for providing said couch and all the other things you do! And thank you, dear listener, for spending time with us in your ears!
My Friends & I Special #2: I'm a Song & Dance Man (ft. Austin!)
What's up Ride Warriors, I hope you're ready to pull down those lap bars and ride the twists and turns of this episode! This week, Austin drops by the podcast to play some GAMES. This episode is mostly games. Like 90% games. We had a games-based agenda and boy oh boy, did we get through them all. There was even a prize involved. We laugh! We groan! We hear commentary from Paige! Austin performs some truly heinous bad bios and grossly underestimates my dedication to my Doctor Who rewatch. I fail to discern roller coasters from action films. Also, we invent a new rating scale specifically for people who have read a lot of Stephen King novels.
Thank you to Austin for hanging out on Paige's couch with me and letting me record it!! Thank you Paige for providing that couch and also your invaluable friendship!! I love you two and also you who is currently reading this!!
My Friends & I Special #1: Girlie-Adjacent (ft. Paige!)
Hi! It's Natalie. Michael usually writes these, but he can't come to the phone right now. I'll let him explain more when he gets back, but for now, I'll be putting up a series of special episodes I'm calling "My Friends and I" where each week, one of my friends helps me carry the podcasting torch until Michael's return. This is a power move, as I am officially establishing myself as the "My" and Michael as the "Ex" in "My Ex and I." So, ya know, if you were wondering, it's like that.
This week, I am joined by my wonderful bff Paige. I want to apologize in advance because our voices sound exactly the same. We spend several hours a week together, it was bound to happen. Paige discusses having a good sit on her new couch, I am called out for my preferences in Wendy's food items, and we absolutely ruin all of the hard work Michael put into the theme song. Also, I mistakenly say that the Taylor Swift song marjorie is from the folklore album, when it is in fact on evermore. This is very embarrassing and I am sorry.
Episode 99: Whoville Whovians
Hey, duders!
We have a 'sode for you here! We're back in our respective homes, recording virtually once again. We talk about Aaron Carter, of course, Michael potentially getting a knee replacement, seeing people that look like your ex, hotels, traveling, and Natalie introduces a wonderful new segment called "A Doctor A Day," in which she recounts the show Doctor Who. It's very fun and I like it. I hope you do, too!
We love you!!

Episode 98: My Baby Takes the Morning Train
Hey there, sports fans!
We're back. That's right. We're doin' it again! We recorded this one live and in person from Natalie's apartment in Chicago! We talk about Michael's journey to Chicago via train, Catfish (again), the wonderful Amazon Prime movies we watched during Natalie's dog's birthday party, we take a BuzzFeed quiz to see if Michael is as smart as the average 6th grader (he's not), and much more!
Thank you for joining us! We love you very much!
