Amplify Us - With Naomi Dennie

By Naomi Dennie

The goal of the podcast is to amplify Black voices, and create awareness opportunties for non-Black people to listen to our stories and lived-experiences in relation to education. This will be carried out through progressive culturally responsive strategies for change so that all of our Black lives matter. Our hope is that all Black students will be taught by educators who are informed and actively anti-racist and for our listeners to intentionally and respectfully listen, learn and challenge racism in our Educational system.

The Meaning

The Meaning

In this first episode I detail the meaning behind this podcast series and some of my own experience with anti-Black racism within the Educational system. Please understand that some of the content in which I speak of in this episode is difficult to hear, yet important to speak about. We are challenging systematic approaches to Education which means we need to start being comfortable with the uncomfortable in order to move ahead.

Take the time to also note the Black scholars, authors and educators from this episode.

May you be still, listen, learn and move forward to Amplify Us.
