SC Association of Black Leaders Panel Discussion
If you missed the SC Association of Black Leaders (SCABL) meeting on September 21, 2023, you missed out on a lot of great information!

iBUG Today
The president and vice president of iBUG Today, Michael McCulloch and Sandhya Rao, joined us about iBUG and all that they offer!
We are a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the individual independence, social integration, and educational development of the blind through accessible technology training. iBUG has been serving the blind community since May 2011.
In April 2021, iBUG was featured in the nationally renowned technology podcast Blind Abilities, https://blindabilities.com/?p=6624. We were also awarded the Dr. Jacob Bolotin Award on July 8, 2018, at the National Federation of the Blind National Convention in Orlando, Florida. The Dr. Jacob Bolotin Award honors individuals and organizations that are a positive force in the lives of blind people and whose work advances the goal of helping transform their dreams into reality.
We provide technology training for the blind through virtual and in-person meetings. All of our training sessions are recorded and provided on our website, ibugtoday.org, as well as on YouTube, smart devices, and podcast apps. iBUG offers twelve group training sessions on iOS, Mac, and Android devices per month. We also have a one-on-one mentoring program for new iPhone users. All of these services and training are provided free to the blind community.
Additionally, we host nine social events each month including a book club, Star Trek discussion group, independent living skills discussion group, social situations discussion group, and audio-described movie nights. All of our training and social events are accessible on the Zoom platform.

ReVision Fitness with Tyler Merren
The Computer Science & Technology Division of the NFB of SC recently hosted a training session with Tyler Merren, the creator of the fully accessible fitness app called ReVision Fitness! Tyler received one of the five Jacob Bolotin awards at the national convention of the National Federation of the Blind in New Orleans this summer. During the CSTD training session, Tyler thoroughly explained the app, its features, and futureplans. We have permission from Tyler to add this to the National Federation of the Blind of South Carolinas podcast using your favorite podcast platform. .

Good Maps Presentation
First off , thank you to everyone that joined our Good Maps Presentation on Saturday, June 18, 2022, hosted by the Computer Science & Technology Division of the NFB of SC! Amelia Johnson from Good Maps gave a great presentation on the Good Maps app and how it will assist people at the NFB Convention in New Orleans navigate the hotels and surrounding areas!

Libra Robinson Still I Rise Event
Libra Robinson is the owner and CEO of N'Sight VIP Services, an organization that provides training and instruction for the JAWS screen-reader program as well as instruction in Braille and smartphone usage.
Libra is committed to ensuring that proper training is provided to all within the blind and low-vision community, and to motivating her students to succeed and live a fuller more independent life.
One supporter stated, "[Libra] instills in all of the blind consumers the term you can live the life you want, blindness is not what holds you back."
Libra currently serves as president of the National Federation of the Blind Greater Washington DC chapter and the first vice president of the NFB DC affiliate.
Libra Robinson was presented with a Dr. Jacob Bolotin Award July 12, 2019.
