Scottish Agates: In conversation
What is an agate? How are they formed? And what's it like running a Twitter account dedicated to them?
We recorded Emily Brown, our Earth Systems Assistant Curator, and Russell Dornan, our Digital Media Content Manager having a conversation about Emily's new Twitter project: an account solely dedicated to sharing one Scottish agate specimen from our collections every day.
The Declaration of Arbroath
2020 marks the 700th anniversary of the Declaration of Arbroath, one of Scotland's most important historical artefacts. To mark the anniversary we spoke to two experts to understand more about how it was created, and why it still resonates today. In this podcast we are joined by National Museums Scotland's Dr Alice Blackwell, Senior Curator of Medieval Archaeology & History, and Professor Dauvit Broun, Professor of Scottish History at the University of Glasgow.
