Hello everyone, today we chose to speak about Julian Assange, who is the founder of WikiLeaks. Assange has released more than 10 million confidential documents in the past decades, telling the world at large about the atrocities committed by some of the most powerful regimes in the world. As a result of this, Assange has also faced brutal vilification and incarceration under the most inhuman conditions in the past decade!
Currently lodged at Belmarsh Prison in England, Assange is facing the threat of extradition to the United States, where he might be imprisoned for 175 years or even get the death penalty. For WHAT? For defending democracy, and his right to freedom of press as a journalist?
We take a dive into his legacy, and what the future looks like for him.
