Eric Hill-Tanquist is the pro bono coordinator for the humanitarian organization Al Otro Lado.  Eric is stationed in Tijuana where he aids refugees and those seeking asylum in the United States.  Al Otro Lado provides holistic legal support and impact litigation to protect the rights of immigrants and asylum-seekers.  In this podcast, Eric sheds light on vicarious trauma, or secondary trauma, that can dramatically affect those who repeatedly hear stories of trauma from clients, and discusses solutions to help humanitarian aid workers best deal with secondary trauma and more effectively serve their clients.
