Noob Heavy Radio

Welcome to a goofy new series that's like other radio shows except I do dumb ass segments that I hope people can appreciate. I play and talk about five brand new tracks from February, some of which come out on Friday the 19th. I interview Dr. Martin who HATES METAL and other things happen I guess.

Special label interview episode that will be the start of an ongoing series between the regular episode, this time I spoke with Peter from Brilliant Emperor Records, an awesome underground Australian metal label run by the guitarist of Sumeru. We chatted about running a label, cassette, vinyl, playing shows in Australia and why cunts in the metal scene don't know how to email properly. We hear a track from four great new releases, all Australian death, doom and black metal bands.

You never know what you'll get with Noob Heavy Radio. This episode is dedication to folk and symphonic metal. Leaves Eyes recently released their new album The Last Viking. Alex and I talk all about it as well as Vikings, did you know he is a legit sword fighter? Well you will after this episode. Right after that interview is another fun one with Victoria from Victoria K, a new Australian symphonic metal band. Victoria and I covered a lot of subjects, from making music videos to watching PewDiePie play Dark Souls. An overall upbeat episode with plenty of laughs.

Carcassbomb is joined by Steven from Aeons Abyss (Aus death metal) and we got to talk to Schmier from the legendary German thrash band Destruction. We talked about the recent live album Born To Thrash released through Nuclear Blast, touring experiences big and small as well as a chunky political/religious discussion that gets quite personal. At some point it becomes Schmier and I yelling about the world.  This is my favorite podcast conversation yet.

This was recorded prior to the Black Lives Matter movement, quite a bit before actually, so nothing here represents that but I just want to say that it is a very important movement that I hope does not lose momentum until the demands are met by the state. ACAB.

On this episode I tried something a little different. I had a solo creator themed episode but instead of separately doing the calls I add in a new guests until we were all in the call together. We find out the new Hellripper album won't be until October and much more. Hear a song from each person and enjoy the banter.

It's the mathcore episode! I've been very excited for this one as a huge fan of the genre and it's metalcore relatives. I got to talk to one of the most pivotal bands in the genre for me, I first got real into them when I was 17 around the time Grandfather was really making the rounds on Youtube and from there I went on a wonderful journey all the way to actually having them on my show! Cohosting with me is Mike from Seek Nothing, an awesome Metallic Hardcore band based in Berlin and the third call is with The Motion Mosaic, one of the hottest mathy bands right now.
