Ep. 245 It Never Was About You: Healing From A Toxic Relationship

When someone takes advantage of you and then discards you it speaks more about them than it does about you. For the first time, I discuss my previous toxic relationship and the long healing process. It was almost like dealing with a death.
I really wanted this relationship to work in spite of all the red flags. Not until I realized that it never has been about me. Something that was never mine to begin with was given to me. I am now grateful to share my story with all my fellow empaths for the first time. It's a big deal to open up! :)

Epi. 239 The Different Perspectives of Love and Survival

Epi. 239 The Different Perspectives of Love and Survival

What does it really mean to put yourself first? Are you able to love yourself truly or stuck on survival mode? It's a typical problem that a lot of individuals encounter. Placing oneself first is frequently linked to good boundaries and self-care, both of which are critical for general wellbeing. But cultural norms and societal expectations can occasionally stigmatize putting one's needs first, which can cause emotions of selfishness or guilt. It's critical to achieve a good balance that fosters compassion for others as well as self-care, as well as self-care by taking into account the needs of others. Tune into this episode!

Epi 227 Why It's So Hard for Empaths to Maintain Friendships?

Epi 227 Why It's So Hard for Empaths to Maintain Friendships?

It's no secret that empaths find it difficult to maintain deep friendships. Many times it has nothing to do with you but rather the other person. Let's face... People do chance and many will let you down in life.
In this episode, we'll go deeper into what's actually happening and how you only need a few genuine friends. Just remember as humans we tend to be more like the people we associate with the most. Many of our friends will leave us while we heal, and that's okay. For many empaths, this can be really uncomfortable, but it's entirely natural. You are not to blame! Don't let the try to convince you otherwise that you've changed! They just want you for their selfish reasons to use you. When your friends choose to part ways, it's a positive indication that you're on the right path to healing! Your energy irritates them especially narcissists.
Remember people change all the time, therefore it's okay to sever relationships that aren't beneficial to you and move on without feeling guilty. Stick around till the end of the podcast and I will give you tips on how to find those friends that add value to your life.

Epi 226 Five Ways to Handle People Who Ignore You

Epi 226 Five Ways to Handle People Who Ignore You

Have you ever wondered why certain people only show up when they are in need? Maybe they never give you interest. Many empaths may find themselves working extra hard to please them in an effort to gain some attention, which can be very trigging. This may be a boss or perhaps a long-term romantic partner. Why do they do this and how it reflects their insecurities is evident. It's not you it's them..... Even if people ignore you, you are still a respectable person. You owe yourself to be around people that can communicate with you. You can focus on improving specific social skills that will lessen the likelihood that people will ignore you in the future by determining why they choose to ignore you. But even then most people are poor communicators especially narcissist. This is part of the game plan to use you and take something of value. In this episode I give you 5 tips that will help deal with these types of people. Tune in!

Ep.224 Can a Narcissist Really Love Someone?

Do you still love the narcissist? There is nothing to be ashamed about if you still have feelings for the narcissist. Then this episode is for you! Love and respect in a relationship are frequently seen as obligations by narcissists. They consequently come across as entitled and forge a totally skewed relationship. Narcissists frequently believe that being in love entails receiving unceasing attention and love from a partner.

Epi. 213 How to Overcome Betrayal Trauma and Take back Your Power

Epi. 213 How to Overcome Betrayal Trauma and Take back Your Power

Have you ever been in a situation where someone abandoned you in the middle of the road left you for dead? Let's be honest: some people are simply evil. Those who swore us that they loved us threw us to the wolves. What they don't realize is that empaths can sometimes come back even stronger and lead the pack. That's exactly what I did when I was dumped in my last relationship with a BPD. I was able to turn my life around after months of healing. I talk about 5 things you can do right away!

Betrayal trauma occurs when the people on whom a person relies for survival significantly violate that person's trust or well-being. In this episode, I discuss how to fully recover from betrayal trauma. Don't miss it!

Epi. 212 Why Motivation Doesn't Work For Empaths

Epi. 212 Why Motivation Doesn't Work For Empaths

In this episode, we'll look at why motivation doesn't work for most empaths. I'll also talk about Mel Robins' "Five Second Rule" and how we can overcome our brain's resistance to doing something we don't want to do. We constantly strive to motivate ourselves but always end up feeling like we fall short. The problem with being motivated is that it is only a temporary solution. The fact is you will never be motivated all the time even if you look at the most influential people on the planet. Avoid criticizing yourself simply because you lack motivation to do something doesn't mean you "lack' something. Even those you believe are motivated are not, I assure you. They simply know how to bypass their brain and do it anyway!

Epi. 200 Make Sense of Your Child's Neurodiversity | Melissa Jackson

My next guest Melissa Jackson comes to this space from a place of empathy and compassion for our neurodiverse kids and their families. Growing up as an undiagnosed dyslexic child with ADHD, Melissa knows firsthand how painful school can be for kids who fall outside of the traditional box we call “normal”.

After spending years as a classroom teacher in both the special education and general education setting, Melissa transitioned to the role of parent advocate as she was given the opportunity to walk this path once again, this time from the lens of a mother. Melissa has her Certificate in Twice-Exceptional (2e) Education and is currently completing her MA in Cognitive Diversity in Education.

Melissa brings her personal journey and experiences as an educator, parent to a neurodivergent child, and neurodivergent individual herself to support others who are walking this same path of feeling unseen and misunderstood in the traditional classroom environment. TUNE IN~

Ep. 199 How to Find Your Self Again After A Loss

Ep. 199 How to Find Your Self Again After A Loss

Finding yourself may appear impossible right now, but there is still hope. In this episode, we'll discuss how to rediscover yourself after a loss. Many of us will shut down and begin to travel down a very dark path. It's similar to the grieving process when you lose a loved one when you've lost your sense of self. Then there's anger and frustration, when you realize you're just going through the motions rather than being who you want to be. Then you bargain with yourself, convinced that something or someone will come along to save us.
Nothing will change because we just don't have the energy anymore. I get it. I talk about finding ourselves first and providing our soul with what it needs in detail. We must go though a healing process and suffer to come out the other side whole again. I also talk about how stop listening to people who are harmful for us including our family and friends. We must learn to keep our boundaries and honor our selves first. Stay tuned until the end to find out what steps you need to take to discover your true authentic self. Tune in!
