It's important to keep yourself centered while on dating apps. Here are three lessons I learned (and continue to learn and remind myself of). Happy February everyone!

8: Self-Love
I was thinking about what I look for in others, and in particular, reflecting if I have those qualities in myself as well. And I came to the realization that I have some work to do in terms of self-acceptance and self-love too. I like myself. I won't trade any part of me, my consciousness or my life with anyone else. Seriously. At the same time, it's easy to love yourself if you look at the world with optimistic-tinted lenses, believe in your brimming potential, and love the image of who you want to be. And you should. But do you also love yourself for who you are now? Your angst-ridden, never-ending-existential-crisis-acne-filled self? Self-Love is both self-acceptance for who you are now, and self-love is always making an effort to be the person you want to be. It is both. So here's my rambling about it.

7: Choose Your People
People change you. Relationships change you. As someone who considers herself to have a solid self-identity, those statements are difficult to digest and accept. Even as I see it around me and in me!
This reflection is prompted by the so many interactions that this pandemic has encouraged, that led me to question how I show up to others. There is a wonderful tension between letting others see you, others letting themselves be seen, and changing & growing because of that relationship(s).

6: Ourselves Under Stress
Covid-19 stress is real. But that stress is unequal, and our coping capacities differ.
This reflection started when I saw the people around me act out of character, myself included. And the realization that the circumstance is not and should not be an excuse for any wrongdoing --- but perhaps the simplest thing we can do during this time is to extend our patience and try to understand one another.

5: Through His Eyes
Have you ever felt like you haven't lived up to your expectations? Or felt like you are failing at life? It's such a depressing feeling, so how do you overcome that?
This reflection is brought to you by myself always asking, “What have I done with my life?” and the self-imposed timelines and imaginary achievements I’ve set on myself to do; and how I reconciled and found peace about my non-achievement of those.
Warning: I talk about God, again. And my dog.

4: Chasing Anxieties
As I tiptoe between sharing this podcast to the world, I realize that my most growth inducing practice of the decade has been to chase my anxieties.
So I talk about my mental process of how I finally chose to click the publish button. How certain exercises has helped me in chasing anxieties from mindfulness to creating a list, to reflecting on my life choices; and how every day is choice to live, to take courage and chase anxieties.
Other people’s stories always inspire me. Email me at pajamareflections@yahoo.com . I’d love to hear from you. Don’t let anxiety hold you back from clicking send. 😉
3: Whose Voice do You Listen to
How do you see yourself? Whose voice matters the most to you?
I was surprised when I realized how much the opinions of people around me affected my own self- image. And in the continuous discovery and development of your self-identify, I question whose voice matters?
In short, this reflection was brought to you by well meaning relatives who always ask, “Why are you single?”
Email me at pajamareflections@yahoo.com, and share whose voice matters to you.
2: Understanding Yourself through Emotions
Do your emotions control you? Sometimes we let events, situations or people influence us.
In this reflection, I talk about the importance of being mindful of the subtle feelings and movements of our hearts, how I process emotions to understand myself better and the people around me.Somewhere along the way I also talk how we are our most true and authentic selves with the people we love, how they become our safe spaces, and that we should take care and not to take advantage of this.
