Nia is the owner and founder of Butter & Filth, a gender inclusive pole dance studio in Richmond, VA.

She is also a university professor and an artist with degrees in sculpture, digital arts, and history, plus has an MFA in video.

She describes herself as a passion alchemist who Worked as a stripper for years with the intention of becoming a full time university professor and gave it up to pursue full time art making and grew her personal income over 20x in doing so.

Nia's business grew 200% in the first 11 months, and in 2020, her business grew 38% despite being fully closed for 3 months and then operating at less than full capacity.
