Where have I been loca? Well, busy getting older!
I have returned from Wrestlemania 40 and I am here to (kinda) tell the tale. I talk about Wrestlecon, whether staying in an airbnb or Hotel is a better choice, WWE World, Walemania, The WWE Hall of Fame, Joe’s Tailgate, and Wrestlemania 40 in Philadelphia. I have more to say about it and I may touch on it later but I wanted to chat about the positive experiences I had.
I have also been captivated by Kristin Cavallari and Mark from the Montana Boyz relationship. So, I chat about that for a bit.

Episode 72 - "Ghosts of the Wilderness: An Everyday Guy’s Search for America’s Rare and Elusive Wildlife" with Daniel Toujours
It is the first episode of 2024 and it is an interview with Daniel Toujours, the author of “Ghosts of the Wilderness: An Everyday Guy’s Search for America’s Rare and Elusive Wildlife”. This episode took me a while to release as I wanted to finish his book prior to release (and editing is always a long game for me). I really enjoyed the book and recording this episode! I learned so much!
Daniel gives us many nuggets of information from how he started his hiking adventures, the different types of rock art (petroglyph and pictograph), animals he found in nature, acclimatization, the TMZ/30 mile zone, and finding ticks after hikes.

Episode 70 - Reclaiming my Hacked Instagram Account
I got my highschool made Instagram account hacked. I am one of the fortunate people who was able to get my Instagram account back after a hacking and it was exhausting, challenging, and quite depressing. It is almost like a legal case and if you are willing to do the work and have the correct information, you can also get through this slow and tedious process of getting an instagram account back.
In this episode, I tell the story of how I got my deactivated Instagram account hacked, the process of getting my Instagram account back, important information that you should know in the event that this ever happens to you, and conclusion of where I am at today.

Bonus Episode 8 - After Everything (A Movie Recap)
IT IS THE END OF AN ERA! I am so sad and emotional. Hardin and Tessa are end game and we get to see Hardin’s journey to the end. Thank you Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin for an amazing run.
While this may be a controversial take, I did quite enjoy this film. While it kind of strayed from the original story line, I thought it was well executed, the cinematography was good, and its lead up to the conclusion was effective.
In this episode, I give my thoughts about the final After movie, as well as a recap of the film.
I rarely cry but I did cry at the end of this film and this podcast recording. I also forgot to discuss Tessa’s awful bangs at the end but thats for someone else to take on.
I used my live recording of James Bay’s live version of “Us”, the Hessa official song, as the intro to this episode because it was fitting.
Tell me what you think about the film! I will miss the fandom, despite the issues we had towards the end. All good things must come to an end.
P.S. Anna Todd has teased the writing of another Hessa novel, so maybe it isn’t so over for us all, AFTER ALL!

Episode 68 - The White Tent Obstruction, Featuring Nickelback. A Free Film by TIFF!
This episode starts with a critique of the efforts made by the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) to execute a Nickelback concert. It was giving FREE. Also, why are all of the film premieres during the day? How can us working peeps attend? Corrections must be made and this isn’t about the strike. We have a few days left and I think that things may turn around for the festival. The film selections are great though!

Bonus Episode 6 - Sex/Life (Season 2): A Netflix Show Review
I WILL NEVER LIKE COOPER! If you are #TeamCooper, this is not the episode for you!
In this recap of Season 2 of the Netflix show, “Sex/Life” or “SexLife”. I will discuss episodes 1-6, my thoughts on all of the characters, and the happily ever after finale (which leads me to believe that there will be no season 3). As you know, this show is mainly sex scenes and it did not fail to deliver on those! We discuss the couples: Cooper and Bille, Cooper and Francesca, Billie and Majid, Brad and Billie, Brad and Gigi, and Sasha and Kam.
Also, lets not forget the iconic and hilarious moment in Episode 6, 17 minutes and 41 seconds in (thank me later).
This season had a better storyline than the first but it was not as well acted. I do love the ending and how everything came full circle. It was a good look into the nuances of marriage, first loves, happy endings, and second chances.
Overall, I would rate season 2 a 3.5/5 (similar to my rating for season 1)

Episode 49 - The Cost of Being a Wedding Guest
ITS WEDDING SEASON!
My Mom and I had a heated debate. I believe that it is $100-200 per plate at a wedding, while my mom believes that it's $300-400 per plate (invite her to your weddings y’all). On my personal Instagram, I asked my followers how much a guest should pay per plate at a wedding. This spawned a productive and interesting conversation that lasted a day. I discovered many findings about what people prefer to pay, how much the couple prefers to receive, cultural and regional considerations, and how to calculate your cost per plate. Someone asked me to make a tiktok about this, but because I am not good at TikTok, I have decided to make a podcast episode with my findings.

Episode 48 - A Master’s Degree but No More Bessie
This is a bit of a somber episode. My dog, Bessie, has passed away! But she lived an epic life and we are happy to have provided it. I got my Master’s Degree. Big Whoop!
On the same weekend, I completed my Masters Degree and my dog died. My dog was literally with me throughout two degrees! Lets shout out to her for all of the support during those all nighters.
Starting a new chapter in life, without university or a dog, is a bit of a huge transition. I am trying to figure life out and hopefully you continue to listen while I do.

Bonus Episode 4 - My Experience with the Filter Off Dating App
Filter Off is a free, online speed dating app where you sign up to attend a speed dating session and you get matched with people based on your preferences. You then get to go on a 2 minute and 30 second “facetime” like date with them. If you like them after that, then you can match with them and continue talking.
In this bonus episode, I give you my thoughts on the app and also let you listen to two of the dates that I went on. I removed any personal information about the men so don’t worry!

Episode 46 - Love is Blind…or is it Blurry? (Season 2 Recap)
I am back! Life is super busy and I rarely have a down moment these days but I felt like an episode on Season 2 of Netflix’s Love Is Blind was super necessary! I have so many thoughts. I am back with a recap of Episode 3, 4, and 5 of the Bachelor. This season has been entertaining so far and I cannot say that I am yet disappointed. However, we need to discuss the Shrimp situation and the craziness that is this season’s villain, Shanae. Also, no Clayton - contrary to your beliefs, Toronto is NOT a great place to fall in love.
We need to take time in this episode to discuss Kanye West’s new love for Instagram, his posts about Kim Kardashian, the apologies he wants from Billie Elish, and his relationship with Julia Fox. We also touch on the Jamie Lynn interview with Call Her Daddy. Wow, I am behind here!

This is an episode from the vault! I recorded this episode with Michael back in mid 2021 and never released it because it took me a long time to edit. I am so glad to be able to release it as my first interview of 2022!
In this interview, Michael tells me all about his youth, how he ended up living in China, what its like to live in China as a Canadian, his time teaching Film Studies at a University in China, the amazing places that he has travelled to, and what life in North Korea is really like based on films he has seen and literature he has read.
This is one of my favourite interviews and I learned so much about Chinese culture and lifestyles. This was not the topic that Michael actually came on the podcast to originally discuss but I had the best time chatting with him either way! I know that you will all enjoy this episode too.

Episode 39 - Emily In Paris, Season 2 (A Netflix Series Recap)
I am only recapping this because I want to not because I need to. Season 2 of Emily in Paris is significantly better than Season 1, however, there are still nuances that need to be addressed. I do a high level recap of this #1 Netflix show but not in chronological order.
This season didn’t do anything to make me like Emily or Gabriel more but it was still a good light show to watch. I didn’t say that it was good, but it was an easy watch.

Episode 38 - Everything is Gonna Be, Okay? (Insecure HBO Series Finale Recap)
Recapping this season has been a passion project of mine for a long time and you are just essentially joining me along for the ride. In this episode, I recap the final 4 episodes of HBO Insecure at a high level and then give my thoughts on the Birthday themed, fast forwarded series finale.
Overall, the last 5 minutes of the series were the most emotional for me. Yes, Molly marrying Taurean was a beautiful moment, but seeing Issa drive down memory lane past the Dunes 709, We Got Y’all and Frieda, and Rite Aid with a new Best Buy Lawrence is what broke me down.
Beautiful conclusion to a very culture changing series.

Episode 36 - Coming Out Colton (A Netflix Series Recap)
I had to do this recap of Netflix's "Coming Out Colton" because I recap everything Bachelor Nation here! I knew the whole entire time that Colton Underwood was gay. From his first Bachelor promo. No one had to convince me otherwise. I am absolutely not shocked by this reveal. I am shocked by the way he treated Cassie at the end though!
This whole series was a whole mess and frankly, quite boring. But I still was intent on recapping it for you all. I touch on my thoughts on Colton and the series as a whole. I also give stories from my friends and my life relating to the topics discussed in the show.
Trigger Warning: Around the 21:00 mark, we talk about Episode 3 of the show which is about religious trauma. Please note that I use sarcasm to get through parts of this episode as it was a tough one. But also it was a good conversation.
Lastly, I would rate this series 2.5 out of 5 stars if possible. The intent was good, but the execution was poor.

Episode 34 - My Eye Strain Story, Kim and Pete, and Insecure HBO S5, E4 & 5 Recap
This week, I discuss my issues with eye strain, caused by too much screen time. I get anxious about my health care and become an expert in self diagnosis via WebMD all the time. My doctor did reassure me but you know how these things go! I also give an update on my Astroworld episode and what's to come next. Also, I was charting in Jamaica apparently! Welcome to the Charts PAIF!!!
Then we obviously have to discuss the fly on the wall, Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson.
And then I will only spend the last few minutes discussing the last two episodes of HBO Insecure, which in my honest opinion, only had 4 minutes of quality content.

Episode 33 - “Everyone I Know Is Thriving, In Abundance, Limitless” (HBO Insecure Recap and My Thoughts About the Astroworld Tragedy)
No, not everyone I know is Thriving ATM. That just happened to be the best quote from the episode and this is supposed to be a HBO Insecure Recap Episode. Recap starts at 18:45.
This episode is a bit somber to start. I spend the first 20 minutes of the episode discussing the tragedy that is the Astroworld Festival. Travis Scott and others are currently being thrown lawsuit after lawsuit. This is such a sad situation and it has actually impacted me this week. I do give my perspective on both sides and my personal/professional opinion on the crowd surge issue. Please note that these are my thoughts and opinions. There are a lot of ideas going around and I am not a perfect source. Some of my views/statements may be controversial. Don't come for me.
Then, I give my thoughts on Episode 3 of HBO’s Insecure. Episode 3 was a masterpiece. The contrast between Motherhood and Fatherhood was really shown well here. Also, will Condola and Lawrence ever see eye to eye? Lastly, Kelli is the best character on the show and a National Treasure. Let’s protect her.

Episode 32 - I Rework Trap Songs for the Lord (Insecure HBO Season 5, Ep 1 and 2 Recap)
Hello! I am back! And as promised, I have the recap of HBO’s Insecure with me. It is season 5, the final season and we are just starting. With 8 episodes left, aka 4 hours left, we know what could happen but we don’t know what will. So far, the episodes have been lacking a bit but I think that they will all come together to make a great ending. So, while we are sad about this great masterpiece of a show ending, lets be glad that we got it. Here is my recap of episodes 1 and 2 of Season 5 of HBO’s Insecure (poorly done if I may say so but…).

Episode 30 - Getting ‘Inked’ with Michelle Coley
On this week's episode, I sit down with my childhood friend and Author Michelle Coley to chat about her upcoming novel, “Inked”.
Michelle started writing ‘Inked’ while in university and drew inspiration for her main character during her bus rides to class. She began posting chapters of her novel to the famous platform, Wattpad, and her story took off from there! With over 415,000 views on Wattpad, Michelle became inspired to publish her novel.
