The story of the Five Pound orange
In todays episode we explore the reasons behind the printing of the Queen Victoria £5 orange. Starting with the price of telegrams in the Victorian era and then the changes in the system that lead to the £5 postage stamp, we go on to look at the temptations involved when dealing with a stamp selling at the equivalent of a months wages.
The process of designing stamps
In this episode we find out what is involved in the design of new stamps for the British Postal Service. We look at the issues of 2021 and discuss in detail one particular set which has caught my attention. We also find out how you can spend more than £200 on items from the new issues.

Dorothy Wilding Stamps
In todays podcast we find out who Dorothy Wilding was and how she helped create one of the most iconic images on British stamps. From her early beginnings in Bond Street, to her receipt of the Royal warrant, and on to her photographs of Queen Elizabeth which were to be used on stamps for more than 15 years. We also talk about the changes taking place in the British postal system during the life of the "Wildings" definitives.

A look at the early years of stamp production and we find out who were the first countries or regions to use prepaid stamps for their postal service. Starting with Greig's Post in New York we also look at the bullseyes of Brazil, the Epaulettes of Belgium and the first multicoloured stamp.
