In the Diyari language, South Australia, yawarra means 'language' and mithanhi means 'in the land', so Language Landscape. In this podcast we discuss how signs can be used to make a local language a regular part of the landscape that people see every day, and present some signs in the Diyari language. Kararru ya Mathari
This episode discusses the two Dieri classes of Kararru and Mathari, which people inherit from their mothers. It also covers the mardu of each class -- this is the animal, plant or natural feature which people have a special relationship with. There are different mardu for each of the Mathari and Kararru classes.

Ngapa ngakayi kudnarranhi
This episode is about a song composed by Chris E. Dodd called "The Cooper's Coming Down" and how we created a Dieri (Diyari) song expressing the spirit of the chorus of Chris' song at a workshop in Adelaide on 2nd and 3rd February 2013. The episode ends with the Dieri group singing this new song.

Word of the day: yawa
There is a plant called yawa in Dieri that is referred to in English as 'wild onion' or 'bush onion'. This podcast describes how Dieri people dig for yawa and prepare them to eat. Tyaputyapu
Dieri people traditionally cooked food in earth ovens using clay balls (called tyaputyapu in Dieri) as heat retainers. In December on a trip to Killalpaninna in Dieri country, Michelle Warren and her daughter and niece revived this method of cooking and cooked some lovely damper.
