The Peyote Lorax
By The Peyote Lorax
Discussions, thoughts, and pathways forward regarding conservation of the sacred peyote. Our focus is toward education, conservation, and inspiration for those who care about the future of peyote and its culture. An intersection of conservation and spirituality, botany and philosophy, culture and tradition. This being said, I’m planning on also laughing and enjoying life with each and all.

Botany Prays But Crime Doesn’t
Celebrating life in the Sonoran Desert with Joey Santore and Curtis Robinson. Three sleep deprived plant dorks talk about applied ethnobotany, plant adaptations to divergent geographic circumstances, the importance of canine companions, and how plants speak to us. In spite of our need for sleep, we had a fairly intelligible discussion and quite a bit of fun. Enjoy!

On Our Way Back Home
Episodes with music are only available on Spotify.
What do you get when you combine a sleep deprived Peyote Lorax, lots of coffee, and a thousand mile all night drive? Stories. On the last leg of a 14 hour drive I decided to stay awake by jabbering. While escorting medicine across the desert the stories tell themselves because I’m too tired to tell them myself. The mysterious and remarkable crested saguaro, and wild animals finding sanctuary with two surprised humans. We’ll see if it still makes sense after I wake up. Until then read about magnificent crested saguaro here- www.livescience.com/58520-crested-saguaro-cactus-photos.html Also, cultivating saguaros to replant in damaged habitat- www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/arizona-environment/2022/09/20/arizona-nonprofit-plans-plant-14-k-saguaros-wildfire-burned-areas/10361682002/ Thanks for listening. Love’s Special Force- An Interview With A Warrior Of The Heart
A special interview with a Green Beret. Many years ago a young US Army infantryman came to his first tipi ceremony at my home. From that first meeting with the medicine he was inspired to apply himself towards his aspirations to serve in special forces. I’ve come to appreciate the quality of his character, and the strength of his mind and heart, such that I consider him to be my little brother, and a warrior of the heart. This interview was done in spite of lots of audio glitches, but I’ve decided to upload the episode because the high quality of conscience communicated is far more important than the poor quality of the sound. I think you’ll enjoy the spirit of service and honesty, both of which the world needs more of. Thanks for listening.

Healing With Medicine
In this episode we talk with Daniel Edmondson, a man who was literally run over by a freight train. Following this incident, which he was fortunate to have survived, he was invited to a peyote ceremony. In this interview Daniel shares the inspiring story of how the medicine helped him overcome phantom limb pain and begin his healing journey through the connection of medicine, community, and Creator. Daniel’s story is one of faith, patience, and perseverance. Many thanks to him for sharing on such a deeply personal level. I hope this interview can be helpful to anybody facing physical or emotional challenges. You can read the article that first brought his story to my attention here- livingwithamplitude.com/limb-loss-psychedelics-amputees-healing-ceremony-peyote/

Unseasonably Cool
Episodes with music are only available on Spotify.
Peyote Sunday music from The Lorax porch on an unseasonably cool Sunday. A listening, with peyote songs at the heart, and a diverse mix of sound on the outside. This is my way of sharing music with The Mrs Lorax that she’d never otherwise hear, much less listen to. But it’s all good stuff. With feeling. I hope she likes it and other peoples too. And please, use some decent speakers.
