In the third episode of the POCUS Journal podcast, Dr. Galen brings on Dr. David DiBardino and Dr. Cameron Baston of the University of Pennsylvania. In this podcast, Drs. DiBardino and Baston discuss their study entitled “The Use of Thoracic Ultrasound to Predict Transudative and Exudative Pleural Effusion”. Their work aimed to determine if the imaging characteristics of thoracic ultrasound effectively differentiate between transudative and exudative pleural fluid.

In the newest May 2021 episode of the POCUS Journal podcast, Dr. Johri and Dr. Galen bring on Dr. Robert Jones and medical student Emily Hoffberg of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. In this podcast, Dr. Jones and Emily discuss their paper entitled "The PEGASUS Games: Physical Exam, Gross Anatomy, phySiology and UltraSound Games for Preclinical Medical Education". This paper examines the effectiveness of adding "gamification" to medical school curricula as a novel way to educate medical students in ultrasonography.
