Robert, Jordan, and Joe return after a few weeks off to breakdown the latest Phase 4 MCU film, "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, and Xochitl Gomez. Directed by Sam Raimi, and boy oh boy, was it a Sam Raimi film! We give our initial thoughts and discuss Wanda Maximoff's role in this film and her motivations. We talk about the introduction of America Chavez to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Joe continues to get hyped for Young Avengers. We break down the character of Stephen Strange and how he's evolved since his first movie, and praise the horror elements throughout the film. Robert, Jordan, Joe and Paul return to breakdown their thoughts on "The Batman" directed by Matt Reeves, starring Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, Paul Dano, and Colin Farrell. We give our initial thoughts and discuss Robert Pattinson as the "World's Greatest Detective". We discuss the film's portrayal of Gotham City, from the set design to the color palette. Robert, Jordan, and Joe return in our 72nd episode of the podcast to bring you a brand new episode in the S1E1 series. We traveled back to 2001 to watch the very first episode of the hit television series “24” starring Kiefer Sutherland.
We go over our initial thoughts on the pilot episode, covering what worked for us and what didn’t. We discuss the attention to detail and the format of the show, along with the behind-the-scenes production woes as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. We analyze Jack Bauer as the protagonist, discussing whether or not he’d be considered a white savior. We also talk about the first impressions of other characters, including Kim, Terry, Nina and Tony. Joe and Robert theorize on the story threads that were introduced, and we hear if they’re interested enough to continue the show!

Episode 71 | Scream (1996)
“Do you like scary movies?”
Robert, Jordan, and Sarah are back to discuss the 1996 slasher "Scream"! Directed by Wes Craven, Scream would go on to completely revitalize the genre and even got a few sequels out of it. So with the recent release of the fifth installment, the Pop Kannon crew decided it would be a great time to travel back to the mid-90s and talk about the original!
We go over what worked for us, including subverting expectations with the beginning of the film, the acting, the way Ghostface gets his ass kicked, and the meta approach the movie takes. We also cover some things that didn't work for us, including the use of anamorphic lenses affecting the image quality, the music, and the internal logic of the killer and his plan!
