Germaine has been in the image making business for over 20 years, starting off as a photographer herself before later starting her own business as an agent. She talks to Lauren about what it takes to be a brilliant photographic agent, how photographers should approach their portfolio, and how a year spent travelling in the Amazon rainforest proved useful in her business many years later.

Anna Jones was the CEO of Hearst magazines in the UK with the glass corner office and a clothes budget before she threw herself headlong into startup life, founding AllBright with serial entrepreneur Debbie Wosskow. AllBright comprises a women’s members’ club, an online academy and a magazine, and was founded to create opportunities for women to grow and flourish. In this episode Anna tells Lauren about people's mixed reactions when she quit as CEO of Hearst, the stories behind launching Grazia magazine, and the need for a sisterhood to support you in your career.
18. Frances Costelloe on building a business while working for a fashion brand
Frances Costelloe is a creator from London selling her instantly recognisable pieces in Liberty, and has worked for fashion designer Bella Freud as Studio Manager, Brand Manager and now as Lifestyle Manager running the interiors side of the business, with stints at other fashion brands along the way. Lauren talks to Frances about the instant nature of feedback on Instagram, her multidisciplinary approach as a creator, as well as bringing designs to life via the medium of scent.

Liv Little is the founder of gal-dem, the magazine for women and non-binary people of colour, which she started while still at university and has grown into a unique publication with huge collaborations. 2018 was a big year for gal-dem, with a takeover of the Guardian Weekend, a pop up bookshop, and somehow Liv is still only 25. She talks to Lauren about freelancing for Elle and the BBC while running gal-dem, thoughts on building brilliant teams, and her advice for creating a magazine.

Madison Marriage is a journalist at the Financial Times, and went undercover in January 2018 to rip the lid off the secretive all-male dinner, the Presidents Club. Lauren talks to Madison about the reality of exposing bad behaviour, and what’s changed for women in the workplace one year on from the scandal. She also provides her top tips for landing a great job in journalism, and futureproofing your writing career.

Simon Dixon & Aporva Baxi are the founders of renowned design and branding agency DixonBaxi, which they started in 2001. Simon and Aporva talk to Lauren about their roots setting up agencies from London to New York, the importance of craft, and their advice for young designers looking to stand out.

Casey is creative lead for branded content at Refinery29, as well as founder of The Freelance Circle, a platform for anonymously giving feedback on working at agencies as a freelancer. Casey talks to Lauren about how she pulls together content at Refinery29, life as a freelancer vs full-timer, and making time for creative side projects.
