How to Overcome Roadblocks to Great Sex - with Dan Purcell
Another dream guest on the podcast today!
Dan Purcell is a "sexpert", software developer, and dad of six, married to the amazing Emily Purcell. Together, Dan & Emily created the "Get Your Marriage On!" blog, where they share what they've learned in their own marriage about sex, to help couples have more fulfilling relationships. Dan hosts a podcast of his own ("Get Your Marriage On!") AND created an incredible app called "Intimately Us" chockfull of resources, games, articles, and tips for improving your sex life with a clean & fun, but informative lens.
Today, Joe and I ask Dan all of our questions about sex, including how to juggle sex with young kids, how to create more intimacy with your spouse, how to learn about sex together in a safe environment, and how to increase desire for sex when things like pregnancy, pain with sex, chronic illness, or desire discrepancy get in the way.
Trust me when I say, you will want to take notes!
Visit our Show Notes @ progressprompts.com for the tips that stood out to me, plus links to a load of helpful, free, & fun advice from Dan and his team, and find Dan @ getyourmarriageon.com .

How Do You Let Go of What You Can't Control?
If letting go of what you can't control brings so much peace, then why is it so hard to do?! Today I asked Joe to share the secret of his easy-going nature. We chat about focusing your energy where it matters most, being busy for the wrong reasons, and what "control" really means to us.
We'd love your tips for letting go, too!

How Do You Stay Rooted in Your Faith During Challenging Times?
Today Joe and I wax religious! We chat about how we stay rooted in our personal relationships with God rather than tuning into the external chatter - which there seems to be a lot of these days. I don't know if you've felt this one as much as we have, but if so, we'd love to hear your thoughts.

What Do You Wish People Knew About Divorce?
Sheri Gali is a Latter Day Saint mom of four kids, and a full-time nurse with a Bachelor's degree from Weber State University. She has been through 2 divorces, 8 miscarriages, and many other trials besides.
I also know she isn't the only one who has gone through this often lonely, and life-changing experience. One of my goals with the podcast has always been transparency, and I think this topic could use a little more of just that.

How Do You Shop for the Men in Your Life?
As a general rule of thumb, when the woman in your life needs a gift - a good default is chocolate, flowers/plants, or lotion (does anyone else love Bath & Body Works as much as I do?). But I struggle when it comes to the men in my life... because there is no default! In honor of Father's Day coming up this month, I am accepting your best and brightest ideas ;) And Joe is sharing some of his favorite gift ideas, too, so tune in.

Habits vs. Addiction || Practice Makes Progress

How have you changed over the years, and what would you want people from your past to know about the person you are today?
Surprisingly, this one was tough for me, you guys! I learned a lot about the way I look at my own growth and identity - and it reminded me it's not a bad idea to stop and take stock once in a while :)

What Is A Parent's Job?
#1: Is your answer actually within your circle of control? Often as parents we assume our job is to ensure our kids turn out a certain way... Well, we CAN control the tools we equip them with, the values we share, and how often we choose to connect with our children; but we CAN'T control who they turn out to be, what they do with the principles we teach them, or how they feel about us when push comes to shove.
#2: Our answers are just that - our thoughts, specific to us and our situation. They don't negate yours, and we'd love to hear them!

Parents, How Do You Handle Burnout?!!

How Do You Know When to Raise the Bar?
When I heard that remark earlier this week I thought, that's absolutely true! Is that a good thing? How do we know when to raise the bar and challenge ourselves, versus when to find contentment and gratitude with what we've accomplished? Can we do both?
Listen in for our thoughts and let us know yours @progressprompts on Instagram and @ progressprompts.com/ . Thank you for being here!

What Single Action Would Make the World a Better Place?
If you could speak to a large, diverse group of people (varying religious, cultural, and political affiliations, etc...) for 10 minutes and persuade them to bring about change, what one topic would you address, and what action would you encourage to help make the world a better place? Listen in for our thoughts and let us know yours @progressprompts on Instagram and @ https://progressprompts.com/ . Thank you for being here!

How Do You Handle Unsolicited Advice?
If I'm gonna be honest, Joe is nicer than I would be about this one (haha!) - but I need to know... How do you handle unsolicited advice? Listen for our thoughts and let us know yours @progressprompts on Instagram and @ https://progressprompts.com/ . Thank you for being here!

Helpful vs. Unhelpful Positivity
Today's progress prompt: What is the difference between helpful vs. unhelpful positivity? I love a bright future as much as anyone, but I also need to be understood and loved where I'm at.
We'd love to know what you think. What is the difference between a positive outlook versus someone invalidating your hard or not hearing you? How can we be more empathetic toward each other and yet still help lift each other up?
Listen in, and let us know your thoughts over at https://progressprompts.com/ or @progressprompts on Instagram.

Am I Saying "No" Too Much? Or Not Enough?

Owning Unexpected Paths & How to Love the Single Life - with Allie Barnes
You guys! Another episode I literally couldn't wait to air. In fact, I'm dropping this early so that you can have it for Valentine's Day slash #singleawarenessday . Whether you're in a relationship or not, listen in for 10 Ways to Own the Unexpected and Love the Life You Have.
Allie Barnes is an author, Latter-day Saint, and people person. She is a masters student studying leadership, and previously graduated with a bachelor's degree in Family Studies. I read her book “Not According to Plan” and absolutely loved her thoughts on relationships and faith, and I also had the privilege to have a conversation with her in person about some of those things. She branded her website “Looks Like Wandering” and I can't get enough of that premise - how our paths in life are not always linear. That perspective is so refreshing, and so honest.

Do you ever struggle with trusting yourself and your body? Or just need to know that your feelings are totally normal? Our guest today opens up about some of those moments in her life and how we can choose to show up with vulnerability - even when we don't have all of the answers.
Amy Geis Lorsch is an amazing singer/songwriter that I came across while podcast bingeing, and I’m so glad I did. She writes this raw, vulnerable music that so many people connect with. She attended Brigham Young University and participated in their music group: BYU Noteworthy. She’s a Utah native, but has also spent time in the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica. She talks about songwriting with so much passion, and as a way to be there for each other, which is something we all need right now!
