The video caused a divisive conversation between fans about the party's seriousness, players' responsibility, and kids being kids.  The discussion led healthily in recognizing that while kids need the opportunity of a college experience, especially after a Duke win, the seriousness of a pandemic has to outweigh instant gratification.

The duo also discusses Carolina Basketball's remaining season and Rick Fox in a see through shirt? Sit back, choose your side, and enjoy the dialogue!

Welcome to Season 4:Episode 3 of 'The Player And The Fan' featuring David Noel III and Quierra Luck.

They are excited to bring you an official podcast highlighting equally important sporting elements, the player and the fan. They will declare their viewpoints weekly, featuring various sporting topics and games around the ACC, specifically North Carolina Tar Heels.

As we try and navigate our way through elections, racial injustice, and political division, the duo hopes to provide you with a short escape full of laughs, David's dramatic storytelling, and of course, analysis of college and professional basketball.

In the third episode of the new season, David and Quierra breakdown North Carolina's win against Syracuse in Chapel Hill. Success was expected since UNC has mastered defeating the zone defense, but with a young and inexperienced team, a loss wouldn't have been a shocker. Luckily, RJ Davis, Day'ron Sharpe, and Garrison Brooks lifted the team with double figures; Brooks and Sharpe finished with double-doubles. North Carolina looked confident, eager, and competitive against the Orange, all of which attributed to one of their best games. Importantly, freshman Caleb Love looked to be finally enjoying his collegiate career as he knocked down a few early shots and defensively stepped up.

Additionally, the duo discuss the ACC's lack of excitement; Are inexperienced teams a contributing factor?

It's All About The Bag...

Welcome to Season 4:Episode 1 of 'The Player And The Fan' featuring David Noel III and Quierra Luck.

They are excited to bring you an official podcast highlighting both, equally important, sporting elements, the player and the Fan. They will declare their viewpoints weekly, featuring various sporting topics and games around the ACC, specifically North Carolina. Welcome to the new season! David and Quierra are happy to welcome you back with more hot topics, debates, and of course, featuring special guests.

This year has been incredibly difficult for all of us. As we try and navigate our way through elections, racial injustice, and political division, the duo hopes to provide you with a short escape full of laughs, David's dramatic storytelling, and of course, analysis of the upcoming college basketball season.

New Year, New Us!!! New season alert!! As David and Quierra transition into a new year, the two also thought it was time to start a new season. Season three was exceptional and deserved to be capped off with the new year podcast as intentions were set for bigger and better in 2021. This podcast was created between two friends who enjoy nothing more than talking sports and providing fans the answers they need about the sport they love, and they couldn't have done it without you!

In the first episode of the new season, David breaks down North Carolina's win against Notre Dame; The Heels defeated the Fighting Irish, 66-65 with a 9 second shot by Leaky Black. David highlights the benefit of two post players and the noticeable selfishness on defense with freshman Kerwin Walton. Walton has made 10 threes in the previous four games. Though his defense IQ seems to be lacking, his ability to pull-up and shoot and create spacing below has helped. Spacing and team awareness has been a rising concern for the Heels, especially after the loss to N.C. State.

As you listen throughout the podcast, please join in the conversation of the rush for players to the NBA. Why do players rush for the league without growing through the necessary steps to achieve high maturity and basketball IQ?

This year has been incredibly difficult for all of us. As we try and navigate our way through elections, racial injustice, and political division, the duo hopes to provide you with a short escape full of laughs, David's dramatic storytelling, and of course, analysis of the upcoming college basketball season.

In episode twelve, David is exhausted, and well, Quierra is still trying to look at the bright side (though it's becoming bleak). What else can Coach Williams and the staff do to uplift and produce a team that looks phenomenal on paper? What is missing? Where is the leadership? The questions for this young North Carolina seem daunting, but there has to be an answer somewhere because fans, and noticeably the team, are starting to come up empty with excuses. Where does the blame fall, and who needs to be held accountable? All of these questions and more are brought up in the last podcast of the year.

Quierra and David also reflect on the incredible year the podcast had, and it's because of you! The duo cannot thank fans enough for their time, commentary, and sharing of "The Player and The Fan." This podcast was created between two friends who enjoy nothing more than talking sports and providing fans the answers they need about the sport they love.

We will be bringing you our viewpoints weekly, featuring various sporting topics and games around the ACC.

On this episode, Quierra takes the back seat and allows the guest-fan, Michael Mckay, to take over the show. Over the last few weeks, 'The Player and The Fan' held a contest looking for the ultimate fan, a fan who will go head to head with former Tar Heel, 2005 National Champion, former NBA player, professional player and now G-League coach, David Noel III. Michael's ability to capture David's leadership, confidence, and responsibility during his tenure at North Carolina was spot-on. David glowed with flattery, but he was diligent in making sure Michael's questions were answered thoroughly detailed and passionate.

This episode allowed David and Quierra to thank their fans for listening, but to let them know without them, this podcast wouldn't exist; you are the foundation of this show.

To Michael and every other fan who spends their time listening, engaging, and sharing, thank you. We strive to make this podcast something all fans, especially Carolina, can enjoy.

Black in America

Black in America

Welcome to Season 2:Episode 7 of 'The Player And The Fan' featuring David Noel III and Quierra Luck. We are excited to bring you an official podcast highlighting both sports elements, the player and the fan. We will be bringing you our viewpoints weekly, featuring various sporting topics and games around the ACC.

This week's episode is tough - even trying to muster up the words to describe it is impossible. This week's episode features Jawad Williams, who we now see as the third entity of this podcast.

If you're black in America, it's daunting for you now, and we more than understand. Living while black can be scary and powerful simultaneously - to explain, you're proud of who you are and the history behind your skin color. Still, there is a place inside of you that understands that there are people in the world who don't deem you as a person, and it's that right there that can break your heart. This world can be taxing; we're fighting everything from politics to a pandemic, the last thing a person should be worried about is whether they will make it home safe - that's the reality for people who look like David, Jawad, and Quierra.

As you listen to this podcast, you will probably be angry and taken aback by the accounts you hear from David and Jawad - they bring reality to who they are when they're not being cheered for on the basketball court, two black men in America. Please take this episode with love. The frustration you hear is not geared towards cops or caucasian people in totality; it's directed to the way our society has deemed us a threat and the energy it takes to prove it wrong.

Thank you for listening.

B-there or B-Squared

B-there or B-Squared

Welcome to season 2:episode 6 of 'The Player And The Fan' featuring David Noel III and Quierra Luck. We are excited to bring you an official podcast that highlights both elements of sports, the player and the fan. We will be bringing you our viewpoints weekly, featuring various sporting topics and games around the ACC.

On this week's episode, we have one of the most favored Tar Heel mascots to ever unofficially represent UNC, Brian McLaughlin, or as you may affectionally know him, BDaht.

BDaht is one of the hardest working men in show business. His man gig is hosting a morning show in Greensboro, NC, 102Jams from 6 am-10 am Monday through Friday. In addition to radio, he's the PA for his alma mater, Winston Salem State University, hosts countless shows on his Instagram page, and lastly, multiple appearances on MTV's WildnOut... whew! What hasn't he done?!

Being Carolina's biggest fan stems from his childhood and has only grown deeper the older he got. Crediting his step-father, BDaht recalls middle school memories and childhood bets that are anchored to friends that have grown from adolescence to adulthood. He's the fan you see cheering on tv and the voice you hear immediately after games on social media. Win or loss, he exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated fan.

Before we jumped into the interview, David and Quierra discussed the sensitive topic of former Tar Heel and 2009 National Champion, Ty Lawson. On Memorial Day, Lawson revealed on his Instagram Stories his feelings toward his former coach, Roy Williams. The post has since been removed, but it wasn't before countless screenshots and news reporting. Stories ran rapidly without any context or explanation; a situation Quierra believes was done irresponsibly. Discussed at length were fans calling Lawson out his name and berating his character and past. Understandably, it's not squeaky clean, but nor does it deserve to be thrown back in his face.

Laugh, reminisce, and cheer during one of our most comical interviews.

As usual, are you with the player or the fan?

Oh You Cappin'!!

Oh You Cappin'!!

Welcome to season 2:episode 5 of 'The Player And The Fan' featuring David Noel III and Quierra Luck. We are excited to bring you an official podcast that highlights both elements of sports, the player and the fan. We will be bringing you our viewpoints weekly, featuring various sporting topics and games around the ACC.

On this week's episode, we have one of the most favored Tar Heels as a guest, Joel Berry II. This interview will not disappoint you; it will go down as one of our best yet!

During this interview, you will see a side of Joel that even surprised Noel. Berry was candid, transparent, and comical as he discussed his time at UNC and his future endeavors.

His jersey went to the Smith Center rafters after being named Most Outstanding Player in the 2017 Final Four, where he led Carolina to its sixth NCAA championship. A championship that he feels was one of the best in Carolina basketball history.

His senior year, Berry averaged 17.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and led the team in three-pointers with 93, the fourth most in UNC history. The Florida native was First-team All-ACC and is considered one of the most decorated players in Carolina Basketball history.

This episode will be sure to make you laugh, reminisce, and it wouldn't be a Carolina episode if you didn't hold a conversation on which championship team is the best.

This season is incredibly unique because the duo is now featuring guests to join the conversation! In this episode of 'The Player and The Fan,' we're honored to have two former Tar Heels, Tracey Pennywell, and NCAA National Champion, George Lynch, who are aiming to change the world. The duo has co-founded HBCUHeroes, a non-profit seeking to raise funding to level the playing field for HBCU sports programs by assisting with scholarships and resources to meet their athletic objectives. This podcast highlights the work they're doing, especially to help student-athletes during a pandemic; most of them don't have the technology to sustain their education at home. These Tar Heels help fill the void.

As always, enjoy the episode!

The Birds Are Chirpin'!

The Birds Are Chirpin'!

This episode is incredibly special, The Player and The Fan welcomes McDonald's All-American, All ACC Freshman Team, ACC Rookie of the Year, and NCAA National Champion, Marvin Williams! It's not often that Williams does interviews, so we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to speak with him at length about his decision to be a 'one and done,' how difficult it was leaving UNC, making NC his home and so much more.

We also hit on topics such as Michael Jordan, UNC's upcoming season, and of course, the struggles coach Williams faced during the 2019-2020 season.

So, sit back, choose your side, and enjoy the dialogue! And make sure you let your voice be heard, are you with the player or the fan?!

Ya'll aint forgive R. Kelly, yet?

Ya'll aint forgive R. Kelly, yet?

Besides scrubbing David Noel's playlist of all things, R. Kelly, the Player, and the Fan dives into the hot topics of sports. Has Jalen Green changed the trajectory of high school students? With his recent one-year development deal for the NBA G-League and $500k signing bonus, Green's recent decision has started the conversation of whether HS athletes will now look to head straight to the league and forgo their college experience. Over the next few years, will we see a decline of elite players in the NCAA? Noel and Luck also discuss UNC Basketball news with Cole Anthony heading to the 2020 NBA Draft, Brandon Huffman transferring, and what does the ideal lineup look like for an incoming star-studded freshman class.

*We attempted a new way to record due to social distancing; we apologize for any raised noise levels. They will be corrected in the next episode.
