Ep 1: Ruchi Sanghi
RUCHI SANGHI is the Founder of RUCHI SANGHI DANCE COMPANY Australia's premier Kathak dance school and performance troupe. Kathak is not just an Indian Classical Dance. Kathak is storytelling ("katha" means STORY in Sanskrit) and a blend of poetry and science... Kathak dancers and choreographers are cultural historians. RSDC creates original productions, familiar stories, some centuries old, told via the communication medium of Kathak (and other dance forms), for an urban MultiCultural audience in Australia.
BIO:
"Ruchi Sanghi started her dance training at 7. Her initial training was at the prestigious Kathak Kendra (the National Institute of Kathak Dance in New Delhi) under famous Jaipur Gharana guru Shri Rajendra Gangani.
She then moved to Mumbai where she studied under the tutelage of the legendary Kathak dancer and Bollywood choreographer (Nritya Samrat; Nataraj) Shri Gopi Krishna. It was here that Ruchi’s talent flourished and she developed the Kathak style popularized by her Guru.
Under her Guru’s guidance, Ruchi got extensive training and experience in performance and choreography in Kathak, Indian Folk and Bollywood dance forms.
Now as a teacher herself, Ruchi is dedicated to making her students realize their maximum potential as dancers."
