The Ox and The Rat

In this week's episode, we discuss the moral, "Do not stop to argue with temptation." This one was a bit harder to figure out but I think we go there, maybe. We discuss possible arguments (I think) but I know for sure we talk about our trip to the Philippines and Kai the once-famous Youtube star. This will be the last episode for a little while, while we contemplate doing more. In this week's episode, we discuss the moral "Do not sacrifice your freedom for the sake of pomp and show." We talk about a hiatus in the coming episodes to let the Ox finish up his school and let the Rat do some travels. In this week's episode, we discuss the moral "Always stop to think whether your fun may not be the cause of another's unhappiness." This moral allows us to think about times when we had fun at the expense of others during university or in part-time jobs, or in a career. Of course the Ox also relates it to a fresh new lockdown. 

In this week's episode, we discuss the moral "In a pinch a good use of our wits may help us out." The Ox and the Rat get into such topics as whether governments are able to use ingenuity to solve problems and the potential issues that may arise when a solution is put forward. 

In this episode we discuss the moral, "It is easy to be brave when there is no danger." This led the Ox and the Rat into a discussion about Covid-19 and people's ability to withstand the pandemic by working at home and those that are not, among other related topics. 

In this week's episode, we discuss the moral "Deeds count, not boasting words." aka actions speak louder than words. The Ox and The Rat discuss how cancer made the Ox more focused on what is important in life and how the Rat has trouble with saying he will do something but fails to turn it into any meaningful action. 

In this week's episode, we discuss the moral "A resemblance to the great in some things does not make us great." We get into a bit about the Rat's exciting weekend and intersperse some beer talk throughout this episode. Also, we discuss reflecting on one's abilities, getting rid of old stuff, and beer again.

In this episode, we discuss the moral "Be sure you can better your condition before you seek to change." We jump into this one by discussing what it's like living in a non-democratic country vs. a democratic country, which leads us into other government talk. 

In this week's episode, we will be discussing the moral, "A change of habits will not alter nature." We get into the Rat's problem with eating, societal roles and we try to determine if changing one's habits actually alter one's nature. 

In this week's episode, we will be discussing the moral, "It is very foolish to be greedy."  This week is a little short, as the Ox is busy with work. We first define the meaning of greed and drift off into topics about teachers and unionization, as well as, government spending. I hope you enjoyed it, if you did consider giving us a review. In this episode we will be discussing the moral, "We cannot expect anyone to share our misfortunes unless we are willing to share our good fortune also." We talk about the qualities of an Ox, and then we attempt to get into some fortuitous luck we have had over the years which includes the Ox's lost cellphone and giving back unearned money. 

In this week's episode, we are discussing the moral "Look before you leap." We dive into such topics as pointless education and jumping into relationships. We also cap off the Year of the Rat by discussing some of the events of Rat's past. 

In this week's episode, we discuss the moral "In unity is strength." As well, in updates, the Ox has moved into his new townhouse. Besides that, the Rat struggles to relate to this one due to the nature of his past jobs. However, we do come upon some examples from current events in USA and also come up with a new way to govern. 

In this episode, we discuss the moral "Do not tell others how to act unless you can set a good example." This episode starts off with us reminiscing about our travels to Brunei and leads into discussions about relationships, veganism,  and the Ox's ongoing tablet problems. 

In this week's episode, we will be discussing the moral, "Self-help is the best help. / Heaven helps those who help themselves." We start off with an unrelated topic of new tech, but we eventually get into things like an idea for Trump's retirement, social media, education, "Bean's Dad," and bettering oneself. 

In this week's episode, the Ox has covid! Well, maybe he does. Besides that, we discuss the moral "Do not attempt too much at once." We talk about good and bad technology, the cost of doing too much, and wasting time on social media. 

This week on The Ox and The Rat we decided to recap some of the previous fables and let you know where we are on some of the plans we talked about during the first 20 episodes. As well, we talk about the goings-on in the US.

In this week's episode, we discuss the moral "Do not let anything turn you from your purpose."  Both the Ox and the Rat discuss their plans for the future and what's going on in their lives currently. Have you still stuck to the goals you set on Jan. 1st? It's time to get back on it, if not. 

In this week's episode, we are looking at the moral "The man who talks for both sides is not to be trusted by either."  We discuss whether or not we should trust people that talk from both sides. Is it that bad to take both sides of the coin?

In this week's episode, we are discussing the moral "Do not give your enemies the slightest reason to attack your reputation. Your enemies will seize any excuse to attack you." We talk about work and keeping a low profile, as well as being open to criticism and not taking things too personally. Have an open mind, why don't yah.

In this episode, we discuss the moral "Do not let your fancy make you forget realities."  We talk about confidence and potential overconfidence leading to one's downfall or success. Some of the topics brought up in this episode revolve around starting a new venture or job and shaping one's own reality by being confident. 

In this week's episode, we are discussing the moral "A kindness is never wasted." Do we really appreciate the kindnesses that are afforded to us and do we repay the favour? Take a listen to find out! We talk about kindness within relationships and in business transactions. 

In this episode, we discuss the moral "The evil-doer often comes to harm through his own deceit." Do "evil people" get what's coming to them? We discuss politics and corporations and come to an interesting conclusion, or not.

In this week's episode of TO&TR we are talking about self-importance, narrow-mindedness, and the usefulness of educators, medical professionals, and even the US election.

This week's episode has us talking about the moral "However unfortunate we may think we are there is always someone worse off than ourselves." We discuss the benefits of travel and go off on some semi-related tangents.

A small gain is worth more than a large promise. What do you think? A good idea when trying to get to a large goal. "I promise I will get in shape next month." Making small gains, eating a little less junk food, or going for walks or pushing it a little further every time... are the little things that can get you toward that big goal. Are we right, or nah?

The Ox and The Rat are here to discuss one of #Aesop's fables, The Two Goats. In this episode, we will be determining whether or not this fable stands the test of time.
