As one of the members of CASART, Christina explains what her role as a nurse is and how this team has come together to make a positive impact on the community it serves. She discusses the importance of nursing roles in patient care after a traumatic event how CASART has impacted her patients in dealing with trauma for long after it has happened. CASART is fueled by the ability to make meaningful connections with the people that utilize it and revolves around the nursing role as a patient advocate - something that is crucial to positive health outcomes in patient care.

Ep. #6 - Rebekkah - The Role of a Doula and Interprofessional Collaboration
Have you ever wondered what the role of a Doula is? Rebekkah talks to us today about her training, role as a doula, how she supports her clients, and works alongside the nurses in the hospital setting. She discusses her experiences with diverse families, explains how she handles unexpected events within the labor/birth setting, and what a "dilation station" is.
We discuss the importance of interprofessional collaboration and how it can benefit patient outcomes, specifically within the topic of role clarification. Rebekkah outlines where her role ends and the nurses role begins, as well as how ego can be the most detrimental factor in communicating with the interdisciplinary team.
