Good Coffee Talks with Ris & Ry

By Ris & Ry

Some of our greatest conversations happen over a good cup of coffee with a friendly face across the table. That's what Karisa and I live for, and that's what we want this podcast to feel like - a virtual coffee conversation. This is a safe place where we talk about the realities of life, everything from the really hard moments to the major breakthroughs. So go grab yourself a hot cup of joe and let's get this show on the road!

Having Hope in Hopeless Situations

Having Hope in Hopeless Situations

To dive right into the scripture reading scrub to 9:00.

How do we have hope in hopeless situations? By placing it in something that can never fail us. The truth is we're all going to experience death, loss, pain and despair in this life. That's the inevitable future for all of us. So what is God really saying in Psalm 91? Specifically verses 9-12:

"If you say, 'The Lord is my refuge,' and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone."

We discovered something really interesting about this verse and it reveals a lot about God's intentions and who he is. Our prayer is this can encourage you and give light to a new perspective on God's promise for your life and ours - that although we will face trouble in this world, God has overcome it and will remain faithful through it all. He will always protect what matters most.

How we got our puppy Arthur and Ryan’s testimony.

Our last podcast was in October. A lot has happened over the last three months. We got a puppy and named him Arthur. We finally booked a wedding venue. And Ryan goes into the hard parts of his testimony to ultimately share how he entered into a real relationship with Jesus. We pray this episode will meet you where you are in life and will encourage your tomorrow. Love you guys!

Exploring New York, addressing problems, and using social media for good.

Exploring New York, addressing problems, and using social media for good.

Karisa recently surprised me with a trip to upstate New York to explore the Finger Lakes for my birthday. In this episode, we reveal how we’ve addressed minor problem areas in our relationship and how we’re using them to learn and grow. We segue into our thoughts on social media and how we shouldn’t run away from it as much as we should use it for good.

Wedding planning, prayer, and Karisa’s testimony.

Wedding planning, prayer, and Karisa’s testimony.

We recently got engaged, and now we're doing all of the "fun" and timely things the wedding planning process calls for. We share a little bit about our perspective on what we want our wedding to be, while going off on a tiny tangent about the power of prayer. Karisa shares her testimony and how the Spirit moved her in knowing Jesus. We end the podcast by quickly saying goodbye because we went over our time and This Is Us started at 9pm and we went until 9:02pm lol lol lol. Like and share if you enjoyed and we can't wait to chat with you all again soon! Love you guys!

Who we are, what we’re about, and why we’re on this podcast.

We recently took the giant step in our relationship to get engaged. Now that we're in the mode of forever, we wanted to merge our passions and build a community of people who can be open and honest about their stories and the realities they face every day. This is our story and we hope it can encourage you wherever you're at in life right now.
