Jeremy Mateo - Mastering Mindset for Success
One of the things that I find very fulfilling about entrepreneurship is that when it comes to how creative you can get to grow your business, the sky is the limit. When you start a business and grow it from the ground up, it’s 100% up to you to decide how exactly you do that. In order to be successful in the ever-evolving world of business, you must be agile in adapting to changes in industry demands, and you have to be able to see the value of failure in your growth. You have to be a disciplined self-starter, and someone who’s proactive in creating solutions.
This episode's guest definitely has all of these attributes in his back pocket, but that isn't by accident. The mindset that has helped him enjoy the success he has today took deliberate action and consistent practice to challenge himself to step outside of his comfort zone and think outside of the box. In this episode, we talk about mindset and how important it is to build a strong and focused attitude when taking on new challenges.
Popoki + Tea - When Passion & Servitude Meets Hard Work
With a background in marketing and communication, Liberty works full-time at PBS Hawaii. But in her free time, she’s worked hard to build Popoki + Tea- a company that aims to bring the community together through tasty tea and philanthropy.
Driven by her love of animals, she partnered with the local non-profit organization - Kat Charities - to throw monthly pop-up adoption events where customers can show up, drink some tea and support Kat Charities’ efforts to socialize Hawaii’s cats, get them off the streets, and adopted into loving homes. What started as monthly pop-ups is now growing into a full blown cat café in Kaimuki! Tune into this episode to hear how she's grown her business from the bottom, & now she's here!
REAL Social HI - Restoring Empathy and Love
Kendria who is a good friend of mine, is a wax specialist at European Wax Center and her business partner Courtney, is a Certified Public Accountant. Together, they recently decided to explore entrepreneurship and launch REAL Social HI to both connect local singles, as well as create positive experiences for couples, through fun and creative date-night events.
So Kendria and Courtney saw that there was a big need for a genuine and authentic way for singles to meet, other than popular dating apps like Tinder and all that. They see an opportunity to cultivate a culture of connectivity that not only offers a fun way to get together, but also to educate people who are interested in restoring empathy and love back into their dating/relationship life.
In this conversation, we talk about how Kendria and Courtney came together on their idea to launch REAL Social HI. We discuss establishing their brand and being a new business, their hopes for what their business will grow into and what they;d like to accomplish for the people they seek to serve. We share some very personal stories about being vulnerable, being loved, and being authentic & unapologetic about the passion with which you live your life.

Nohea & Ivan - Be Bold About Your Dreams
On a few occasions, I've had the pleasure of dining at Nohea’s Kitchen. Behind the counter of Nohea's Kitchen is a dream team that offers great insight into unapologetically pursuing your passion and fearlessly manifesting your dreams. They've had to overcome unique challenges like learning through language barriers and traversing the dynamic exploration of creative expression through food....But these two individuals are paving their own way towards their dream career in the culinary industry. Rather than accept the limiting ideas of what others thought they should do with their lives, they boldly decided instead to start their own new business. In our discussion we talk about facing doubt and deciding for yourself what your life and what you do with it should look like.
