Dr. Candow supervises the Aging Muscle and Bone Health Laboratory, and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Aging and Physical Activity, Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, and Biogerontology. Dr. Candow has published 100 research articles, reports and abstracts. Dr. Candow's research program involves the development of effective resistance training and nutritional intervention strategies for improving properties of aging muscle and bone health. BIO All throughout school Josh was extremely active as well as doing well in his studies. Josh represented his school on a national level in multiple sports, and consistently carried out in strength and conditioning to help and aid him in his chosen sports whether it was speed, power or just pure strength, he found the gym had so many different applications. Once Josh finished school he lost that competitive outlet of team sports so he decided to take up Natural Bodybuilding to satisfy his drive for competition. Quite early on in his lifting career (6 months) he was approached and convinced to compete at the 2012 INBA Qld State Titles by the gym owner he was training at. Ever since then Josh has been hooked and is beyond passionate about everything to do with Natural Bodybuilding and continually strives to educate himself and others on the most up to date studies relating to strength training, progression/periodization and nutrition. Josh is a very strong believer in researched information, studies and data to back the decisions he makes leading to a very analytical approach to training and nutrition. This might come from the fact that he has also completed a degree in Chemical and Food Engineering… Ever since Josh’s first season in 2012 he has continually been learning and applying different training and nutrition strategy’s so he is able to accompany the data he finds with anecdotal evidence based on himself. He has also along the way accrued numerous Natural Bodybuilding titles, the most recent one being crowned the 2015 Junior Natural Olympia Winner as well as becoming the youngest ever to win the Overall Mr. Queensland title and obtaining his Pro Card in the sport of Natural Bodybuilding. Dr. Campbell is an Associate Professor of Exercise Science and the Director of the Performance & Physique Enhancement Laboratory at the University of South Florida. His master’s and doctoral degrees were earned at Baylor University while serving as the Coordinator of the Exercise and Biochemical Nutrition Laboratory. He joined the faculty at USF in the Fall of 2007. As a researcher and author, Dr. Campbell has published more than 150 scientific papers and abstracts (in academic journals) related to sports nutrition and physique enhancement. In addition, he is a paid consultant to professional sport team organizations, sport entertainment corporations, and also is a litigation consultant and expert witness related to dietary supplementation. Dr. Campbell has published three books on sports nutrition, including the NSCA's Guide to Sport and Exercise Nutrition and Sports Nutrition: Enhancing Athletic Performance. His research is focused on improving exercise performance and enhancing physique through the synergism of resistance exercise, nutrition, and dietary supplements. Dr. Campbell is a fellow of the International Society of Sports Nutrition where he also currently serves as the organization’s President. Teaching responsibilities include both the undergraduate and graduate levels at the University of South Florida. Undergraduate courses include: Nutrition for Fitness and Sport, Biomechanics, and Strength & Conditioning. Laurin Conlin, Owner and Head Coach Laurin started Team LoCoFit with the mission to redefine healthy within the fitness industry. Laurin’s interest of nutrition started from a very disordered place; as she was anorexic for many years growing up. She competed for several years as an NPC Figure competitor before making the switch to the Bikini division. In 2014, she won the overall at NPC Nationals in Bikini, earning her professional status. Laurin has competed for several years as an IFBB Bikini pro since. She attended the Florida State University for her undergraduate degree, pursuing a Bachelors in Exercise Science. She then went on to complete her Masters in Exercise Science from University of South Florida in Dr. Bill Campbell’s lab. Laurin’s Masters research focused on how different dieting strategies effect weight loss and weight regain. Particularly, looking at a ‘flexible’ diet where no foods are excluded versus a meal plan, where foods were excluded. Her research was the first study to directly examine this relationship between these two diets. Laurin travels to give lectures and seminars on a variety of topics including nutrition, training, psychological aspects of dieting, running a business and more. Kori is one of a few athletes who have earned professional status in all three divisions of Bodybuilding, Figure, and Fit Body within the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation. She has also been a runner-up at the WNBF World Championships twice, and has earned pro titles at the Mid-America Pro-Am and the Pro-Cup in Sacramento. Now an avid road cyclist Kori can be found among the hills of North San Diego county. Published in the Journal of Nutrition and various community magazines, Kori serves on the advisory board for Oxygen Women’s Fitness magazine, is a contributing writer for UltraFitness magazine, is an avid blog writer, teaches at national camps and retreats, and provides international webinars. Kori coauthored 50 Days to Your Best Life with The Diet Doc founder, Dr. Joe Klemczewski in 2014 and has a new book in the works about the threats to self-determination of individuals pursuing nutrition goals.
