Despite the premature end to the King's season and the sour feelings that may be associated with them, the Kings were able to win 46 games. And of course, there were some really impressive and dominant wins in there.

"Finish the story." That's what Kings fans should hope the Kings do next year because they simply cannot beat the Pelicans this NBA season as they lose to them for the 6th and final time to end their roller coaster of a season.

The Pelicans as they've done 5 times before this season, just overwhelmed the Kings with their size, length and physicality. The Kings did their best to stay in it, but it felt inevitable that the Pels would just big boy the Kings and that's what they did.

The Kings will now head into an offseason with a lot of uncertainty, will they be able to resign Malik Monk? Will they make a big trade? What will they do in the draft and free agency? It may have just been one game, but the Kings may have just ended the Warriors as we know it. They dominated the Warriors in the G1C in the 9/10 Play-in game on Tuesday night, ending their season, avenging the loss in Game 7 from last year, and possibly ended the Warriors dynasty as we know it. It was a dominant defense performance by the Kings, who absolutely crushed the Warriors with their defensive pressure all night. Add to that they shot 46% from 3, they simply overwhelmed the Warriors. The roller coaster that has been this Kings regular season comes to an end, as the Kings absolutely crush the Blazers to close the season. The Blazers didn't have many of their regular rotation players so it only made sense that the Kings absolutely dominate this game. And they did.

After the chaos of all the games played around the NBA settled, the Kings are now set to play the Golden State Warriors in the 9/10 Play-In game on Tuesday.

Not the most ideal situation, but it's the position the Kings have put themselves in and they'll need to rise bring it. The Warriors and Kings have played 4 times this year and all the games were absolutely spectacular. Chances are the game on Tuesday will be as well but it's going to likely be a stressful one for all parties involved.

The Kings can't buy a beam. It's been rough for the Kings as they have lost 5 out of their last 6 and now, their last 3 in a row, with the last 2 being the most devastating.

First it was New Orleans, who sweep the season series with the Kings 5-0, something that hasn't done in 20 years. New Orleans was simply the better team, they were bigger, stronger and were the more talented team. The Kings fought valiantly, but the Pelicans proved that they are simply a better team than the Kings.

Then on the next night, the Kings were held the Suns for 3 quarters. But in what has become a theme for the Kings, they seemingly run out of gas by the time the 4th quarter arrives and struggle to score. That was the case again in this game where they outscored 30-22 by the Suns in the period. Making matters worse, the Kings still had the game in hand but inexcusable mistakes down the stretch cost them the game, really highlighting the struggles they've had closing games.

These 2 losses guaranteed that they will be in the West Play-in, an unfavorable spot to be in and one that is the culmination of all the self-inflicted wounds this season.

Another game where the Kings go up big against a tough team early, and another game whether they gas out on offense in the 2nd half and lose a big game against a tough opponent.

The Kings shot a total of 58 threes and made 20 of them, a very good number, but they were only able to make 13 shots inside the arc. This is going to be a problem for the Kings going forward, without Malik they lack the amount of creators that can actually get into the paint consistently. So this is the reality that the Kings are going to deal with the rest of the season until Malik can hopefully make it back.

Their newfound defense will keep them in games like it did this game, but the Kings need to find more ways to get buckets late in order to close them out.

After 2 consecutive Beamless nights (shoutout Deuce and Mo), the Kings get back in the win column by blowing out the Nets in Brooklyn. It wasn't the prettiest by any means, but the Kings did a good job of limiting Brooklyn with their defense and holding them to only 77 points.

With the playoff race in the West so tight, with seeds 5-9 being separated by only 3.5 games with only a handful of games left, it's still anyone's spot to take.

The Kings hope to keep pace in the race by taking on the Thunder on Tuesday.

The Kings have now put themselves in a huge hole. They get blown out in New York in deflating fashion by losing a 21 point lead, and come up short on a miraculous comeback in Boston.

By losing these 2 games, they are in danger of possibly dropping to the 9 seed before the season is over.

One saving grace however is that the 6th seed isn't out of reach. But it's going to be tough and the Kings will really need to pull a rabbit out of their hat.

Another saving grace is that in both losses, they have shown the capacity to really compete and overtake an opponent when they are fully locked in. Let's just hope they can summon more of that in the final 5 games of the season.

Another day, another game where the Kings win by dominating on the defensive end. After going back and forth in a close game midway through the 3rd quarter, the Kings turned up the dial on defense and completely shut the water off on the Clipper offense. That plus the offensive rebounding party the Kings were putting on, what was a 4 point game about 4 minutes into the 3rd was now a 21 point game in favor of the Kings.

It's another game where the Kings demonstrated once again their new defensive identity that they have adopted since the All-Star Break. It's no secret that Mike Brown is a defensive minded coach and has always preached the importance of defense in the playoffs.

This win, where the Kings won despite not shoot well has to make Mike a very happy man. The Kings now have the ability to win ugly, and those are the kinds of games that playoff basketball is made off.

The Kings get a much needed win after the twin losses to the Mavs earlier in the week. The win was also needed as it comes on the heels of the news that Malik Monk will be out for 4-6 weeks with an MCL sprain in his right knee. So getting this win against a depleted Jazz team was not only needed for the Kings in the standings, but also for much needed positive vibes after a rough week.

While this game was sketchy for the 1st half, where the Kings couldn't build a substantial lead on the Jazz, the Kings exploded in the 3rd quarter after an early timeout by Mike Brown. The Kings would build a huge lead that the Jazz would never threaten the rest of the game.

To add to vibes, the Kings got much needed reinforcements with the return of Trey Lyles and Sasha Vezenkov, both of whom played well.

The Kings have a tough road the rest of the way and the players will have to do their best to fill the Monk void. But for at least one game, the Kings seem very capable of doing just that.

The Kings definitely took the Tuesday loss to the Mavs to heart. And they channeled that energy and came out absolute gangbusters. They played with incredible energy and intensity throughout the game and the Mavs seemed to be rattled for 3 quarters, unable to match the King's speed and physicality.

But then the 4th quarter started, the Mavs turned it up on offense, particularly their 2 stars, Luka and Kyrie. They hit shot after shot and a 10 point lead was tied in a blink of an eye. The Kings seemed to run out of gas as they struggled to score down the stretch.

Dante Exum would hit a 3 to give the Mavs the lead with 28 seconds to go. The Kings miss on the other end and a costly turnover after an offensive rebound basically ended the game.

It's a huge loss but an encouraging one. The Kings fought hard and suffered a huge loss with Malik Monk going down in the first quarter. Yet they played great and had a great chance to win this game. This will be the level of play they need in order to succeed in the postseason, and while this loss was a huge gut punch, the best way to learn is through adversity.

Now this loss likely puts the Kings out of the 6th seed barring some sort of meltdown from one of the 4-6 seed teams. So that means the Kings will more than likely be Play-in bound, adding an extra level of uncertainty to their season.

And also, all this growth from adversity talk could be for naught if they lose to the Jazz. Let's hope that's not going to be the case come Sunday night.

The Kings returned home after their east coast trip and split a pair of huge games.

First, they were able to dismantle the shorthanded Sixers by limiting Tyrese Maxey and letting that trickle to the rest of the Sixers not being able to get easy shots. It was another impressive showing on defense for the Kings and it allowed Kings fans to breathe a sigh of relief as it's usually these kinds of game where a shorthanded and lesser team that give the Kings the biggest issues.

Unfortunately, on the next night the Mavericks came into Golden 1 Center and absolutely lit up the Kings from the 3 point line. It was just another one of those nights where a team that is mediocre from 3 just doesn't miss from 3 for whatever reason. On the other side, the Kings offense abandoned them as they couldn't hit their 3s, and they also were able to generate enough good looks going to the basket, especially in the 2nd half.

It's a big loss for the Kings as they are fighting tooth and nail with Mavs for that 6 seed and this will set them back in that battle. The hope is that they bounce back the next game as they will have another chance on Friday to avenge this ugly loss and get right back in the battle to avoid the play-in.

After the stinker in Washington, the Kings bounce back against a very good Orlando Magic team sitting in the upper tier of the Eastern Conference.

The Kings played their game, they played at a frenetic pace all game and got up and down the court. Mixed in with some really good defense throughout the night, the Kings threw the Magic for a loop.

The Kings now end their 3 game road trip 2-1, and they head back to the G1C to face the 76ers on Monday and the Mavericks on Tuesday in a huge back to back that could be the deciding factor of whether the Kings will be in the play-in or a top-6 seed in the West.

Fresh off surviving the Grizzly bear attack in the G1C, the Kings headed across the border to the North to play the Raptors in Toronto. And ... they took care of business and demolished the skeleton crew Raptors. The Kings were simply too big and too talented for this Raps team to handle and they got the easy win with some extra rest for the starters.

The next night however, was a different story. Just when it looked like the Kings had figured things out and took a huge step forward, they take a huge step back and lose to the Wizards, who are by record, the worst team in the league.

It was a game where the Kings couldn't hit from 3, De'Aaron Fox was uncharacteristically off, and the defense was substandard. Hard to win games when all 3 of those things happen.

In a vacuum, this can be chalked up as another head-scratching loss against a bad team that the Kings have no business losing to. But in a tight Western Conference playoff race, this loss could come back to haunt them and it's another example where this year's Kings just can't get out of their own way.

It was a disgusting game, and a gross win. The Kings did everything in the book to try and lose this game, and it was a miracle they actually managed to pull it out.

We all hoped the Kings had turned a corner after the impressive back to back win against the Bucks and Lakers. And even though they lost to the Knicks, the Kings held tough and matched the Knicks physicality. But then there's a stinker like this where the Kings just about lose to a team missing over half of its roster and had no business being remotely competitive.

At this point, it's just going to be who the Kings are, they'll rise to the level of higher competition, and sink to the level of lower competition.

They get this win against the Grizzlies, but this is nothing the Kings should be proud of.

Do you like physical basketball? Are you tired of foul calls every other possession? Are you tired of the ridiculously high scoring games of today's NBA? Well then the Kings vs Knicks in the G1C on Saturday night was for you!

This game was as old school and physical as a game could get. Insane amounts of contact, very few whistles, just letting the players play and may the tougher team win. Judging from the result of the game, you may say the Kings got punked but that was not the case. The Kings very much matched the Knick's physicality and played them incredibly tough and were very much in position to win this game.

But they simply couldn't hit enough shots this game and Jalen Brunson damn near hit all of his in a masterpiece of a performance from him.

While the loss hurts, this is a great lesson for the Kings as the playoffs have plenty of teams that are going to turn games into rock fights like this. The Kings did well to match the Knicks, and they'll need to do this more if they are to find success in the playoffs.

After a confounding loss to the Rockets last Sunday, the Kings continue to confuse their fans by pulling off 2 equally confounding wins in back to back nights.

The Kings, against the Bucks and the Lakers, played inspired defense and held their opponents to subpar performances on the offensive end. Their own offense as well, seems to have discovered new life as well and as a result, they've had 2 very impressive wins against 2 very tough opponents. Turns out, when you make shots and make your opponents miss shots, you tend win a lot of those games.

It's still hard to get a grip on this year's Kings, but at least for now, the Kings have shown that they can hang with the elite teams of the league. Now it's time for them to build on this momentum and establish themselves in the tight race for playoff seeding in the west.

Well, the Kings keep doing this to us. We thought they conquered their below .500 demons with the improbable win against the Spurs 3 days ago. But alas, they lose another weird one at home to the under .500 Rockets.

The game was a tale of 2 halves, in the 1st half the Kings forced the Rockets to play their style of basketball, which involves a lot playing fast and in transition. In the 2nd half, the Rockets slowed the game down and turned it into a grind it out physical game. The Kings weren't able to shake out of the chains the Rocket put on them despite a late rally and the Kings lose another weird one in front of their home fans.

It keeps happening, and at this point this is what this team is. They play down to the level of bad teams and sometimes they play up to the level of superior teams. Let's see if this characterization is true when they match up against the Bucks on Tuesday and Lakers on Wednesday. Because that might be the only thing the optimists can hang on to in order to think this team has any chance in the playoffs.

It started out horribly for the Kings in LA, they went down 21 early and look absolutely hopeless. And then, the Kings completely turned it around. By halftime, what was a 21 point deficit for the Kings turned into a 15 point lead as the Kings completely flipped the script on the shell shocked Lakers. The Kings would control the game from then on and they get the much needed win over the Lakers who were hot on their tails in the standings.

Well the Kings got a great win over a formidable opponent, now they come back to Sac to face a shorthanded middling Spurs team without their rising phenom, Victor Wembenyama. Easy money right? They'll be able to finish the job ... right?

Well, if you've been watching the Kings, you know how it goes. They're going to somehow blow this game, and they just about did. They were down 5 with under a minute to go with De'Aaron Fox fouling out, it was bleak.

But the Kings pulled off a miracle, they scored 7 straight points to take the lead with a Sabonis pick-6 dunk to somehow win this game. It wasn't pretty, but you'll take a win however you can get them.

The Kings had a great weekend, they had the tough win against the Wolves on the road, and teams around them in the standing all took Ls while the Kings had 2 days off.

All the Kings had to do was to finish the job and beat the Bulls to create some separation between the teams around them. Well ... about that ...

The Kings just don't want to make things easy on themselves, they lose to the Bulls at home after leading by 14 in the 1st half and 22 in the 2nd half. It was a comedy of errors with turnovers, fouling too much, and subpar defense that doomed them.

But it really just speaks to the bigger issue with the Kings, they're just an inconsistent team. They can win against the best teams in the league and lose to worse teams in the league on any given night. And there's no answer in sight, this is just kind of who they are.

As the season winds down and the battle for playoff seeding continues, it will be really interesting where the Kings end up, and which Kings team is going to show up on any given night. Say what you will about the Kings, they keep things interesting.

Off the heels of getting pummeled by the Nuggets 2 days ago, the Kings get a little bit of retribution by beating the #1 seed in the West. A feat even more impressive because they were once again without De'Aaron Fox.

Now it has to be mentioned that the Wolves were without the services of their best player Anthony Edwards for the 2nd half.

Nevertheless, it's an impressive win by the Kings who fought through missed 3s, free throws, and Sabonis fouling out in overtime to snag the win on the road. With the 5-10 spots in the Western Conference standings being so jumbled, every win matters.

Also, with how close all 3 of these meetings between these 2 teams have been thus far, this could prove to be a very interesting matchup in the playoffs if it were to happen ...

The Kings had a chance to go 4-0 against the defending champs tonight, but it was not to be.

It started out well with the Kings who got a 15 point lead with 8:00 to go in the 2nd quarter and looked to have all the momentum despite not having their star point guard. Then the Nugget decided to turn on Uber mode. They proceed to pummel the Kings on the inside with Aaron Gordon and Nikola Jokic and the rest of the team follow suit to go on a 33-8 run to end the 1st half and that was the game.

The Kings crumpled under the heightened Denver defense and they didn't have a prayer of stopping the Nuggets on the other end either.

While it's understandable the Kings would lose to the Nuggets without De'Aaron Fox, they need every win they can get with the tight race for the last playoff and play-in spots. It also hurts that the Nuggets showed that they are leagues above the Kings when they are completely locked in and that they have a long way to go before they are a championship level team.

Mike Brown had been preaching the need to be a good defensive team all season. To say the Kings have been hit or miss when it comes to executing that plan would be an understatement. But against the Clippers on Sunday night in LA, the Kings pulled off their best defensive performance of the season.

De'Aaron Fox brought the intensity on that end from the start and the rest of the team followed suit, they flew around the court getting deflections, stops and run outs to win against the Clippers going away.

That defensive intensity unfortunately, would not carry over on the next night against a depleted Miami Heat team in the G1C. The Heat got whatever they wanted, they bullied the Kings inside and passed out to shooters for open 3s.

The Kings would trail 20 going into the 4th looking absolutely gassed and lifeless. But then, the Kings, who had been struggling against the vaunted Miami zone all night, decided to run a zone of their own and mounted a furious comeback to make it a game. They would ultimately fall short and lose another "gimme" game against a Heat missing nearly half of their entire roster for the game.

It wasn't easy, but after making their fans sweat they were able to pull out the game against the Spurs. The Kings looked refreshed coming out of All-Star Break and guys looked like they had a little more pep in their step on offense.

But the defense was their achilles heel all night as they couldn't stop the Spurs from inside or outside the arc. They finally turned up their defense in the final possessions to pull the game out but it's going to be something they need to fix as they will be facing teams better than the Spurs who are really going target these defensive weaknesses the Kings have.

That being said, the Kings got the win they needed coming out of All-Star Break and they'll need to keep this up in the final stretch of the season.

All Star Break is upon us! But before the Kings could partake (Or not) they had a tough back to back on the road to go through.

The first game was against the Suns in Phoenix, where it was a ballad of shot-making brilliance by both teams. The Kings would ultimately lose due to untimely mistakes and maybe some questionable officiating. But the Kings showed a lot of heart and fight in the game and it seemed like a step in the right direction to get some momentum before All Star Break.

That momentum however was non-existent for much of the next game in Denver the next night. The Kings looked gassed and simply didn't have it on either end of the floor and looked like they were gonna lay a turd and call it a night. But instead, they hung in there, and slowly clawed their way back. They took advantage of an similarly checked out Nuggets team and outplayed them down the stretch to steal the game in stunning fashion. It wasn't pretty, and I mean it was an ugly game, but the Kings continue to prove that while they can be a turd sandwich at times, they have an extra gear that they can tap into when they need it.

The philosophy of winning a basketball game is simple, you make shots and force the other team to miss shots, you will likely win the game. The Kings last year were really good at making shots but not great at making the other team miss. This years team has tried to focus more on making the other team miss and taken a step back when it comes to making shots.

The result unfortunately a lot of the time this year with this approach is that they end up doing neither, and we get some really ugly losses. The Kings missed a bunch of shots early, and couldn't keep the Thunder from making theirs. Even though the Kings got hot later in the game, they couldn't get stops and they were never able to truly cut into the cushion the Thunder had built earlier in the game.

Even though we are through 2/3 of the season, the Kings are still trying to work on becoming a complete team that can score and get stops. So far, the process and results can still be very inconsistent. We likely won't have a great reading on them until the end of the year and for the time being, we just won't know which version of the Kings we'll be getting from night to night.

After the Kings vs Thunder, we got the Superbowl with the Niners taking on the Chiefs with the Niners losing in a heartbreaker. Fong returns to give his thought.

The Kings get a palate cleanser game after losing to the Pistons on Wednesday with a dominant victory over a shorthanded Nuggets team on the 2nd night of a back to back.

The Kings were just … better than they were last game, they hit more shots and played terrific defense for stretches. And by doing that, they went from losing against the worst teams in NBA history to beating the defending champs. Sometimes basketball is just a simple game.

The trade deadline came and went with the Kings not doing anything besides trading for Robin Lopez and then waiving him. Did the front office do the right thing?

And finally, the WWE press conference in Las Vegas was eventful to say the least, and seemingly, the Cody-Roman-Rock saga has now taken an interesting turn, seemingly for the better.

It was the trappiest game that has ever trapped. And as the day went on it only got even trappier. The Pistons, who had won only 6 games all season, traded away 2 rotation players and were going to be playing without Cade Cunningham and Bojan Bogdonavic. Logic would dictate that a good Kings team would wipe the floor with this team right?

Well, lemme introduce you to the Sacramento Kings as they lose in embarrassing fashion to the aforementioned depleted Detroit Pistons at home.

The most simple explanation for this game is that Detroit was hot in this game, and the Kings were not. But it's a pattern for the Kings where they seem to keep losing to teams that they have no business losing to.

And now this game gets to join that pantheon of crap games the Kings have blown this season.

Kings will face Denver in the G1C on Friday before going on another road trip before All-Star Break.

Cavs get the Kings back for their loss against the Kings earlier this season where they couldn’t miss in G1C. Instead, the script flipped and this time the Cavs couldn’t miss from 3. And that was what the game boiled down to, the Cav were lights out from 3, and the Kings couldn't keep up.

The Kings in all honestly didn’t play bad, but on this night they needed something special in order to match what the Cavs were giving.

In wrestling news, The Rock's return has been met with a lot of backlash that it will be at the expense of Cody. The reaction from fans online have led WWE to seemingly take a very interesting direction in their response to address the situation.

Kings started their back to back in Indiana and get an impressive win by taking advantage of a shorthanded Pacers team on the 2nd night of a back to back, and might I say, imposed their will on them.

They played the Pacers really well on defense, where they were active and constantly creating TOs which led to plenty of transition offense which was pretty much the difference in the game. A good bounce back game for the Kings after a rough showing in Miami and in addition, they avenge their loss to the Pacers at home from a few weeks back.

The Kings then went into Chicago and again, came out strong. They dominating the Bulls in the first half and jumping to a 30 point lead early in the 3rd. The Kings were running good offense but terrific on defense getting tons of steals, deflections and runouts which sucked the life out of the Bulls and the fans in the United Center.

But then they started to cool down from the outside and the Bulls upped their defensive intensity and made it into a game. The 2 teams traded baskets in crunch time with the Kings eventually pulling out the victory that should have been a lot easier than it was.

That being said, the Kings with these 2 victory are now 5-1 on this 7 game road trip with their last game being in Cleveland. They are now 10 games over .500 and is creating some separation between them and the lower half of the playoff bracket.

In other Kings news, both Fox and Sabonis were controversially left off the 2024 All Star team despite their stellar numbers and team success, which created a firestorm not only amongst Kings fans but also the national media.

It was always a trap game. Heat came into this game having lost their last 7 games were going to be motivated to break out of their slump against a Kings team that is always very sus in these kinds of games.

Well the result was what a lot of us feared, but the reason is a bit more complicated than what meets the eye.

The Kings played the Heat very tough for about 2 and a half quarters, but in the 3rd quarter the Heat went into their infamous zone, and the Kings really struggled against it. They couldn’t get any good shots for a long stretch. They did find success later in the game by getting open 3s, but they struggled all night to hit them.

The King’s 4 game winning streak comes to an end in a pretty flat manner, let’s hope they find their offensive mojo these next games.

It was tight one, and it never should have been. Had the Kings lost this one, we would’ve had another worst loss of the year contender. The Kings played a skeleton crew of not the Memphis Grizzlies, but the skeleton crew of the Memphis Hustle, their G-League Affiliate. This team, with a bunch of G-Leaguers and Jaren Jackson, played the Kings almost dead even and got dangerously close to beating the Kings.

How? Well, the Kings played like absolute garbage. And it wasn’t just regular garbage, it was a masterclass of how to blow a game against an severely shorthanded opponent on the 2nd night of a back to back.

They couldn’t hit shots, they turned it over 19 times and were just straight dumb, had they just played regular bad, they would’ve won by 20 going away. But instead, they squeaked by with so big shot down the stretch.

It was awful to watch, and really just highlights how the Kings are such a weird team on a night to night basis. Sure, good teams can sometimes lose to bad teams, OKC with a healthy roster just lost to the Pistons over the weekend.

But ultimately, the Kings did pull it out to extend their win streak to 3 going into Miami on Wednesday. Miami has lost their 7 games, but the Kings better go in with their A game, because if they come out the way they did against the Grizzlies tonight, the Heat will absolutely terrorize them.

The Kings had a tough task ahead of them, they had to contain Luka Doncic after he scored 73 points against the Hawks the night before. Would the Kings defense be able to contain Luka or is he going to feast like he has against so many other teams?

Well, the good news for the Kings is that it was the former, they made it very difficult on Luka to get off any easy looks and made his teammates make plays, which wasn't pretty a lot of the time. The Kings also sliced up the Mavs defense all night, maintaining control of the game for much of its duration.

It did get too close for comfort at the end but they took care of business and closed it out. Now they head to Memphis to face the Grizzlies again on Monday to continue their longest road trip of the season.

The Kings and Warriors just cannot a boring game. Pretty much every game they've played these past 2 season have been thrillers, and this one was no different.

It was an offensive focused game, both teams ran beautiful offense and displayed remarkable shot making. Both defense did what they could to limit the other's offense but most of the efforts were futile. On the King's side, Harrison Barnes once again did most of the heavy lifting, following up his 32 point performance against the Hawks with am extraordinary 39 point game. Fox came alive as well with some big shots to end the night with 29 points of his own.

The Kings look to be rounding into form once again after losing 4 straight and now look to keep building their momentum on this 7 game road trip. It's unclear if this is the team that will be coming back to the G1C after the trip as the trade deadline looms, but with guys stepping up in big in this game, Kings might find it hard to let go of these guys.

In other news, a lot has happened around the league as well the past few days, the Bucks fired Adrian Griffin and hired Doc Rivers. And then Wes Unseld was, well promoted I guess to the front office but will no longer coach the Wizards.

It has been 10 days since the Kings have won a game, but it has felt like years. And it wasn't easy, the Kings held the Hawks to 24% FG in the first half, but they heated up in the 2nd half with multiple barrages to make the game competitive. But the Kings answered each run from the Hawks with one of their own, and held strong with their good defense to eventually win going away.

Harrison Barnes was the standout for the Kings, scoring 32 points in a game no other King scored more than 14 to give the Kings some much needed firepower. But it was the stellar defense the Kings played that put the brakes on any comeback the Hawks tried to pull.

This game shows that even when the Kings are their lowest, their spirit still remained strong and they were able to battle through adversity that could have doomed a weaker willed team when the opponent went on a run. But they stayed focused and made the plays necessary to get a gutsy win and break out of their slump.

In other news we talk about the Niners grinding out a win in a truly gutsy performance against the Packers in the NFC Divisional Round.

The Pacers came into G1C without Haliburton, Nesmith, Nembhard and the newly acquired Pascal Siakam and still found a way to torch the Kings. The Kings defense was bad all night, they let the Pacer destroy them in the paint and their rotations to the perimeter were way too slow.

Even then, they battled down 16 with 2:20 to go and somehow were only trailing by 3 with 32 seconds to go. They get a stop and after some chaos, Malik Monk is fouled for 2 free throws, which he subsequently misses both.

And that is the other reason why they lost this game, their free throw shooting, they shot 18-32 this game, and it was also the reason they were in position to lose via a 3 pointer from Damian Lillard 2 games ago.

This loss stings, as it is the 2nd time they've lost 4 in a row since the start of last season, but it stings that much more because the Kings easily could be 5-1 in their last 6 but are now instead 2-4 because of self-inflicted mistakes.

The Kings need to find their spirit and get it together because with how tough things are in the West, it won't be long before they're completely out of the playoff picture if this losing goes on any longer.

Coming off a heartbreaking loss against Milwaukee, we were expecting the Kings to come out strong to wash away that memory. And come out strong they did, their offense was running on all cylinders, their defense had the Suns all out of sorts, and they completely controlled the game for 42 minutes.

But then the last 6 minutes happened, up 22 with 8:22 to go, the Kings got a little too cute and played loose with the ball, they stopped running what had been working with them all game and resorted to isolation which resulted in a turnover or a blocked shot for what felt like every possession.

The Suns to their credit took full advantage and went on a 25-5 run in the last 6 minutes to steal the game from the Kings.

This now tops the worst loss of the season for the Kings, it really boils down to they fucked around and found out. They were feeling themselves after 42 minutes of dominating the Suns and thought they could sleepwalk to the win.

This could be the last straw for the team before they make changes of some kind, a collapse like this is inexcusable.

This is also hopefully a turning point because a loss like this would break a team with a weak resolve, let's see if the King's spirit can maintain after this loss.

After a stinker in Philly where the Kings couldn't hit a shot, the Kings came out in Milwaukee guns blazing against the Bucks. The problem was the Bucks were also red hot shooting the ball and the Kings found themselves down by 10 in the 4th quarter.

The Kings would continue fighting however and force OT. In OT they went up 6 early and were up 4 with less than 20 seconds to go and the Bucks had to foul. Malik would miss his 2 FTs, Brook hits a 3 on the other end. Fox would then get fouled, go 1-2 at the line, and then ... it was Dame time as Damian Lillard hits the game winning 3 with the Kings up 2 to steal this game from the Kings on the road.

Despite the heartbreaking ending, the Kings played very well and withstood multiple barrages from the Bucks high powered offense. Hopefully this is a spot for optimism for the Kings and they can build upon it.

Mike Brown (who was ejected this game) and the coaching staff really tightened the rotation in this game (2 guys over 43 minutes and 6 players played over 32 minutes). Let's see if this is something to monitor going forward.

The Kings just couldn't find the net on this night. They lose to a shorthanded Sixers missing Joel Embiid, Kelly Oubre and Robert Covington. It's another deflating loss for the Kings, but perhaps not as dire as it seems.

The Kings overall process was very solid on the offense end. They got open 3s all night but shot only 8-39 on them, it's tough to win when you can't knock down shots even though you actually run good offense.

Hopefully tonight was just a really bad off night and not part of a trend going forward for the Kings as they hope to bounce back against the Bucks on Sunday.

The Kings made their fans sweat, they gave up 47 points to the worst team in the league in the first quarter. They looked like they did in a lot of their losses, slow, lethargic and just unfocused. But lucky for the Kings, they are playing the Pistons, who proceeded to go cold and basically gave a red carpet down into the paint for the Kings. The Kings would take the lead going into halftime and they would never relinquish it.

It wasn’t pretty, at all, but the Kings did what they needed to do and didn’t lose to one of the worst teams in NBA history.

The Kings win the NBA Team of the Year Award as well as the NBA Team Innovation Award for their business growth and best fan engagement and experience in the 2022-23 season. There was also a lot of love and acknowledgement given to The Beam, and rightfully so.

In wrestling news, Tony Khan took a shot at Jinder Mahal facing Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship next Monday on X/Twitter. Is that something the owner of a wrestling company should be doing? Owen gives his thoughts as well as a wrestling hot take that could make him genius madman … or an absolute idiot.

On the next night, the Kings went against an even more depleted Hornets team than the one they faced in the G1C a week ago, would they blow another game to the Hornets? The answer was no, they went into Charlotte and simply took care of business and proved that they are indeed a better team than the Hornets.

These 2 games are a nice sigh of relief for Kings fans who have been taken through a roller coaster of emotions the past week and needed reassurance that this team was indeed ok. And the team themselves may have needed as well after so much erratic play.

Hopefully this is a sign of the Kings figuring something out, and that they are ready to take that next step as a unit. Because they'll need it, as they face the 76ers and Bucks next. Let's see if they're ready for primetime.

Well, just when we thought there won't be another horrible loss for the Kings this season, they seem to top the latest one with an even more horrible one. This time, the Kings lose by 33 on a Sunday afternoon to the New Orleans Pelicans. And don't let that score fool you, it was much worse than 33.

The Pelicans are a bad match up for the Kings as they have long, athletic and mobile wings that put insane pressure on the Kings and make it hard for them to make any kind of shot. However, the main culprit of the King's struggles is that they couldn't defend the Pelicans on the other end, where they were lit up from both the inside and the outside. Tough to win when you have trouble scoring on one end and the opponent is cruising to easy bucket on the other end.

The Kings will need to figure something out to deal with the Pelicans or a team like the Pelicans, because ultimately, this is the kind of team the Kings will run into in the playoffs, where teams in the later rounds will be stacked with long athletic wings that can score and defend at a high level.

It was chaotic day for the Kings on social media. According to Jake Fischer earlier in the day, Kevin Huerter, Harrison Barnes and Davion Mitchell have been brought up in trade talks. And then later in the day, Shams Charania comes out and breaks the news that the Kings are in serious discussions with the Raptors on Siakam. And then about 50 minutes before the game between the 2 teams, Shams reports that Kings had pull out of trade talks ... So yea, chaotic.

And oh yea, there was a game between the 2 teams that happened. All parties rumored to be involved in trade talks all played well in their own way. But the game basically boiled down to the King's hot 3 point shooting and offensive rebounding overcame the Raptor's parade to the free throw line and bullying of the Kings inside with their size.

The 2 teams could come back to the trade table at a later date but on this day the Kings at least win the game on court in Sacramento, the first time they've beaten the Raps in G1C since opening the arena in 2016.

The Kings have not been good on back to backs. But this was an opportunity for the Kings to buck that trend by beating 2 depleted teams both of whom were coming into the G1C on 2nd nights of back to backs.

They unfortunately, began by crapping the bed by losing to the Hornets who flew in from Denver the night before and with 4 of their starters out injured. The Kings were simply off on offense all night and blew the game in crunch time with a series of just terrible plays. It was most likely the worst loss of the season considering all the circumstances that favored the Kings and they absolutely blew it.

They do make up for it somewhat the next night by beating an equally depleted Magic team on a 2nd night of a back to back. The Kings managed to survive a shooting performance that saw the Magic break their franchise record for made 3s by knocking down 25 of them. The Kings did so by dominating the paint and the boards and also just played with a urgency and intensity of a team that wanted to make a statement.

The Kings have been all over the place this season, and here's to hoping that they find some more consistency in their play from game to game going forward.

The Kings go into Memphis and just take the Grizzlies lunch money. The Kings put on a clinic on the offensive end, moving the ball around for open 3s and slicing the Grizzlies in the paint. But more importantly, they shut down the Memphis offense who couldn't get anything going on the inside or outside the arc.

This game was a preview of what the Kings can be at their best, and it's a great game to close out 2023 and build momentum going 2024.

It's started out really ugly again, it looked like the Kings were still suffering the effects of losing to the Blazers. Their defense was again putting up little to no resistance, they were missing shots from 3, and the Hawks jumped to a 31-8 lead. It looked like it was going to be a long night ...

But the Kings didn't give up, they slowly clawed their way back throughout the game. Despite some really bad turnovers along the way and 18 offensive rebounds by the Hawks, the Kings were able to take the lead in the 4th and went up 3 with a Chris Duarte 3 pointer in the corner to go up for good with 3:27 to go.

It's been a rough transition from the Kings team of last year where they went balls to the wall on offense last year every game. This year they've been less potent on offense but have shown more flashes on the defensive end and this is the kind of game they most likely lose last year. This game will help push the point that sometimes when shots aren't falling you need to be able to lean more on your defense to get you back into it and that's what this game was.

The Kings are looking for more of these kinds of games to take the next step and there's no doubt that this game will be a nice confidence booster for the team and what they're trying to reach.

Every year, there's always losses to team that make you say "how the hell did you lose to this team?!" It happens to all good and bad teams, there's just losses where there really isn't a logical reason why our favorite teams played so bad against an opponent they should have easily dispatched.

Well, the Kings looked to have had one of this game as they give us this turd sandwich of a loss to the shorthanded and tanking Blazers team in Portland.

How did they lose? Well, it's the cavalcade of crap that has plaqued the Kings in many of their losses, not being able to hit shots from 3, bad defense, bad rebounding, just bad energy, you name it, it was all bad.

What it all boils down to is that the Kings seemed to not take the Blazers seriously, who came out and played hard all game and just outplayed and outhustled the Kings.

It's a terrible look for the Kings, who will need to do a lot of soul searching in order to regroup for the next game. But it is important to keep in mind that these losses happen occasionally even to the best of teams. The thing that separates the good from the truly bad teams is how they respond, so let's hope that's what the Kings do on Friday against the Hawks in Atlanta.

Another back to back for the Kings and another 1-1 split. On the first night in G1C, the Kings simply outplayed a short handed Suns team who had even more injuries than usual. The Suns simply couldn't match the King's speed on offense and the game was never in doubt after halftime.

On the 2nd night however against the Wolves in the same building, the #1 defense in the NBA held the Kings to 98 points and under 44% shooting from the field. The Kings were outscored in the paint, from 3, and on fastbreak points but were in it late in the game but ultimately fell short.

It's another loss on the 2nd night of a back to back but the spirit and resilience of the Kings was encouraging and the hope is they build on this for the next set of back to backs.
