Stephanie Yu '22 on Product Management, Double-majoring in CS and PPA, and Faith at the Claremont Colleges
Stephanie Yu, Product Manager I at Disney Streaming, shares in-depth of her journey at Pomona from dabbling with different academic fields, her learning experience during the pandemic, and how she found Product Management as her career fit. As the first Double-Major graduate in Computer Science and Public Policy Analysis (PPA) with a concentration in Chemistry, Stephanie talks about juggling two work-load heavy majors while being involved in 2 student organizations. At Pomona, Stephanie co-founded First Love, the Christian Fellowship at the Claremont Colleges and was the president of hearhere, an annually published journal of Christian thought aimed to spark interfaith dialogue across the Claremont Colleges. Vivian Chen ‘07 on Growth at Pomona, Working with Youth, and Recruiting

Neva and Joseph Novarro ‘96 on Meeting at Pomona, Economics, & Path After College

Neva is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics at Pomona and Joe is the Senior Vice President of Tax at Boardriders. Cathy Corison ‘75 on Winemaking, Biology, & Walking
Cathy Corison ‘75, Winemaker and Partner at Corison Winery in St. Helena, CA, discusses her winemaking journey. During her time at Pomona, Cathy created her own major to avoid Organic Chemistry, competed as a springboard diver, and discovered her passion for winemaking. Sophomore year Cathy took a Wine Appreciation class and she’s never looked back since. Post graduation, Cathy pursued a Master’s in Enology at U.C. Davis and then proceeded to make wine for 7 years before starting her own Winery called Corison Winery. Guy Lohman ‘71 on Dreams of Working for NASA, Projects at IBM, and Enjoyment of the Outdoors

Megan Hunter ‘10 on Mathematics, the Federal Reserve, & Being a Professor
Megan Hunter ‘10 discusses her interest in mathematics at Pomona, her Masters in Statistics at Harvard and her PhD in Marketing at Stanford, and her journey of applying math to different aspects of the world. Following graduation, Megan was undecided on what she wanted to pursue, but had an interest in Statistics due to its applicability to a variety of areas. Before completing her Masters in Statistics at Harvard, she worked for the City of Claremont and tutored students for a year. Following her Masters, she worked as a Research Analyst at the Federal Reserve. During this time, many of her co-workers had PhDs, leading her to consider pursuing a PhD. She went on to obtain a PhD in Quantitative Marketing . Megan received a professor position at Boston College towards the end of her PhD, and she is currently an Assistant Professor at Boston College’s Carroll School of management.

Celia Neustadt ‘12 on Inner Healing, Founding a Non-profit, & Sociology
Celia Neustadt ‘12 talks about finding her path at Pomona, founding a non-profit, and embarking on a healing journey that led her to found the company Sky, Moon & Me. Entering Pomona, Celia was on the pre-med track but found that Sociology was her true interest. After being awarded a project grant for the summer following graduation, she grew her project into founding a Baltimore non-profit called The Inner Harbor Project. Following her work at the non-profit, she traveled to Vietnam and Cambodia to pursue her healing journey, and returned to the U.S. knowing that she wanted to help others with their healing process through her company Sky, Moon & Me.

Julia Sears ‘13 covers her decision process when choosing a major at Pomona and how she considered everything from Geology to Political Science before landing on Public Policy Analysis. After graduation she served as an AmeriCorps Scholar Coach in the Schuler Scholar Program for one year before obtaining her Masters at Illinois State University. Following her Masters, she found work back in her hometown of Missoula, Montana (Shoutout to any Missoulians or Montanans listening!) and currently loves her position as a Senior Consultant at Advanced Technology Group.

Carla Pamila Lopez ‘01 shares her stories ranging from growing up on the move with a father who studies biochemistry and specializes in chocolate, volunteering to educate individuals on HIV, and leading a community engagement program to prevent the spread of Ebola in Liberia. Carla has so many stories to share from the numerous countries she has lived in and worked in. You might hear about her dream job which turned out to be one of her least favorite positions, her experience getting kicked out of a country, and her story on her team members’ encounter with zombies.

Annie Schneberger ‘07 chats about entering Pomona as a pre-med student but then deciding that medicine was not the path for her. As a biology major, she didn’t know what she wanted to pursue after school, but she did enjoy event planning and education. After graduating from Pomona she went on to receive her Masters in Higher Education from Harvard and then work in higher education at Kenyon College and Stanford. But as she felt the need for a change, she made the decision to enter product management and currently works as a Senior Product Manager at Guideline.
