Ep. 64 Finding Peace In Our Pace
Quick Disclaimer: My mic kind of conked out on me for the 2nd part of this episode so the audio quality midway through the episode might not sound so great. My mic is fixed now though so the next episode will sound better. Thank you so much to Podcast Network Asia for helping fix this technical issue.  When we find ourselves in between transitions, we find ourselves overwhelmed with finding what our pace really is. Should we stand still? Should we sprint? Should we just casually run? And when we decide on what pace we go for, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. IN this episode, Mara talks about what being at peace with the pace you are currently at can feel like and how can it be one of the most compassionate and loving things you can do for yourself.  Join us this episode in an all-new season.  A new episode drops every Thursday.  Follow us on Instagram: @sageconversationspodcast and let us know your comments, suggestions, and other thoughts. Ep. 57 Looking Back At The Season That Was
Have you ever read your old journals and realized how much you've changed? Have you ever encountered an old social media post where you wrote down pretty good advice for yourself that you have now started to live by? Looking at our experiences in retrospect helps us recognize how much we've grown. For the last episode of Season 4, Mara looks back at the stories behind each episode that made up this season and how they've reflected personal and collective human experiences.  Thank you so much for being with me this entire season. You have made this experience very worthwhile and memorable. While I prepare for Season 5, feel free to contact me via my IG @movementandmyriads about anything and everything. Maybe there's a topic you want to talk about or a reflection you want to expound on. Let me know!  Special thanks to @podcastnetworkasia for being so patient and giving.  SEASON 5 PREMIERES MAY 9, 2022

Ep. 54 Living with Childlike Wonder with KCo Pt. 1
After last week's episode that deals with grief, loss and how everything in this world is temporary, we lighten things up by talking about how we can make the most out of this life by being present. One of the best ways to do so is by cultivating this childlike wonder, or nurturing this Inner Child. In this episode, they talk about the courage and authenticity of children, and how they are great examples of what it means to live in the present moment.  Follow KCo on her Instagram @cosmicbloom108 for all things Magikal and Educational.  Join us this episode in an all new season.  A new episode drops every Wednesday.  Follow us on Instagram: @sageconversationspodcast and let us know your comments, suggestions and other thoughts. Ep. 52 On Wearing Many Hats
Being conditioned the moment we are born, it becomes difficult to carry out what we believe our purpose is while still being fully aware of the roles we need to play in our various communities. In the search of the fulfillment of this purpose, we need to change our roles and labels to adapt and to grow. But there are times when these roles don't seem to suit or fit us. There are also times when we feel like we question if we still deserve to label ourselves with certain roles. In this episode, Mara talks about deserving and labeling, how they can feel both limiting and empowering, and how we can embrace the circumstances we are in and make them work not against us but for us.  Join us this episode in an all new season.  A new episode drops every Wednesday.  Follow us on Instagram: @sageconversationspodcast and let us know your comments, suggestions and other thoughts. Ep. 50 The Courage in Creativity (Pt. 1) with Maria Mison
Creativity is an art, but it oftentimes seen as something that needs a physical tangible output like a painting, a film, a song or anything kind of medium we consume. But creativity is more than that. It is intuition personified. It is an extension of ourselves that we can place into everything and anything we do. In this episode, I am joined by Maria Mison (@mariasantisimaa), a magical artist who dabbles into so many art forms, and we talk about how creativity is innate in all of us.  Join us this episode in an all new season.  A new episode drops every Wednesday.  Follow us on Instagram: @sageconversationspodcast and let us know your comments, suggestions and other thoughts. Ep. 48 Finding Humility in Learning and Teaching
"One cannot reach the real point of factual knowledge without being helped by the right person who is already established in that knowledge." This quote from the Bhagavad Gita was what inspired Mara to come up with this week's episode. Every waking day that we experience is a journey of learning and teaching, but there are times that we resist the call to do so. In this episode, Mara shares what held her back and what gave her the courage to move forward and open herself up to being guided and mentored as she continues to walk the spiritual and mindfulness path.  Join us this episode in an all new season.  A new episode drops every Wednesday.  Follow us on Instagram: @sageconversationspodcast and let us know your comments, suggestions and other thoughts. We continue the discussion with Michiko Soriano who shares her pregnancy story with us thus far on her 30th week. On her 26th week, she found that she had developed gestational diabetes after taking her second Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT). Fortunately she simply has to monitor her blood sugar after meals (no insulin needed), she has learned a lot about listening more to her body and what it needs at a given time. Ep34 Michiko Soriano on Womanhood Beliefs
Sage Conversations Co-Founder Michiko Soriano rejoins Roanna and Mara for the first time this third season from her hiatus for a two-part episode to share her pregnancy journey and the beliefs and programs she has acquired or released to manifest this (and a smooth one!) in her life. Recognizing that “womanhood” is a common recurring theme in her life - with her passion for women empowerment with her various involvements, there have also been physical and spiritual struggles that she goes through with her being a woman (i.e. intense dysmenorrhea, PCOS, etc). She recalls how she had previously carried fear of not being a mother (which she wanted to be) and also shares the more recent work on herself about having to release the thinking that “life is a struggle.” Wearing her ThetaHealing® practitioner hat, in this episode she also gives positive downloads for those who may want to receive them.

Ep33 Yummy & RJ Jalijali on their COVID-19 Experience
A year and a half since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, we are honored to have RJ and Yummy Jalijali, husband and wife and parents to two children who bravely share about their first-hand experience of the said virus (and in the context of the Philippines) as cases continue to rise. Despite being extra precautionary, and with almost their whole household being vaccinated, they were 32 weeks pregnant with their second child when they contracted COVID and Yummy had to go through an emergency C-section. We found their story to be very relevant at a time when there have been doubts and uncertainty about the efficacy of the vaccines, especially also for pregnant and lactating women. With this episode, we keep an honest intention to help others make a decision about this matter and to still stay safe and not be complacent thereafter even with it.  RJ and Yummy are most grateful for the medical workers who helped them get through this ordeal and for the prayers (and food!) that friends and family have offered them. This episode is dedicated to all frontliners and to those who have dedicated their days fighting against COVID-19.

Ep32 On Ivy Pangilinan’s Neurodivergence Superpower
Multi-faceted creative and ever-evolving artist Ivy Pangilinan openly shares for the first time publicly about her mental health and being treated for ADHD. Though still going through the process, she feels more empowered to talk about it in hopes to help others who may be struggling with the same thing to remind them that they are not alone. Neurodivergence, a term coined in late 1990s used to describe conditions like ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, in hopes to “shift the focus of discourse about ways of thinking and learning away from the usual litany of deficits, disorders, and impairments.” Ivy says how her hyperactive-impulsive ADHD can be her superpower - the ability to see so many possibilities and connect things, to be drawn to taking risks - and it is true that with the treatment of it is how one can reach one’s full potential. For her, she continues to find her own full potential in also doing the simplest things, and thus even finding inner peace: “in listening to her own instincts and beliefs and not giving in to what she should be doing.” In being able to accept herself, she’s able to accept others, in being able to integrate more and to anchor in the dream of just being happy. www.instagram.com/ivypangs

Ep31 Miel Abong on Turning Stages to Safe Spaces
Theatre and commercial actress Miel Abong shares the stage and holds space for us in this episode, with a focus on her passion for entertainment arts and her advocacies specifically around mental health. Her current work on this is being able to marry the two, and being a “resource person for her past self” and tackling it creatively utilizing fundamental techniques learned as well in acting. She founded 31mm studios as a hub and community for this and to be able to share her experience with whoever would resonate with it. The workshops are rooted in authentic work, like developing empathy as an actor and as a person, bringing out skills and characteristics from the stage out “in the real world” that can better equip the person (how to overcome stage fright or shyness are some examples). As she celebrates her 30th birthday next month, she continues to share her learnings and advocacies as an actress and as a curious learner, now pursuing becoming a practitioner for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Ep29 Embracing our Authentic Selves with Michelle Calasanz
Michelle Calasanz, a practitioner of ThetaHealing®, Sacred Activations, Reiki, and Millennium Method, and whose healing style continues to evolve, focuses on her advocacy of empowering her clients and “giving them their voices and power back.” Our Sage Conversations episode with her tackles on her passion to be authentic, sharing one’s truth, and that means saying “what you need to say, crying and cursing if you have to” as all that are part of the healing process. It’s about embracing who we are and our flaws, our fats and our weirdness. She reminds us that we should sit with the emotions and to go through the process, that means cherishing our human-ness and ot wearing our “love and light hat” all the time. “When we are our true selves - we attract happiness. Bring that love in by being you. Bleep everyone else.” Instagram: https://instagram.com/unicorncultleader Website: https://theunicorncultleader.wordpress.com

She shares that it’s a lot to do with being really present in one’s body and where one is physically. We have the tendency to “not inhibit this 3D reality” or even feel flighty - don’t you have those moments when you don’t even recall what you had for lunch of the same day?  Jenny defines “grounding” even further as “being aware of what’s happening, aware of our thoughts, what we’re doing, what we need to do, and what we did.” When we are grounded or have a sense of balance, we are unshakeable, she says. Listen in on our conversation about our different ways or techniques to ground  - may it be through sitting, listening to sound, cooking, or even taking up a language - at the end of the day it can be our own safe space or what feels like home to us. And yet, we also learn that when we do find ourselves in unchartered territories or what makes us feel ungrounded, it is to be welcomed with open arms as it may be the opportunity when we actually find ourselves in an area of growth or expansion.

Ep27 Unexpected Expectations with Noella Medalla
Many of us can relate when it comes to life taking an unexpected turn. Sage Conversations Season 2 Finale is with Noella Medalla, or Elle, founder of Unexpected Expectations, and is joined (unexpectedly but pleasantly) by her son Luciano! She bravely walks us through the time she got pregnant in 2019 - something she had initially felt ashamed about given her background and “social norms” that were ingrained in her back then. She shares her internal mindset and belief shift, recognizing that it was also through faith and God’s love that had helped her. Unexpectedly still, she got moral support around her through her parents and her boyfriend-now-husband. Deep down she knew, as she was opening up to her new calling to motherhood, that she had to also be more aware of these negative feelings that no longer served her knowing the baby would feel these, too. Now having been through this, and how happy she  is and has been with her child, she’s founded Unexpected Expectations to help unexpected expectant mothers in their own journey. She points out that while there is a big mother tribe for mothers-to-be, there is a need for this space for those who had not planned this or may still have feelings of shame about their pregnancy. She is currently building a program for new moms to build confidence and certainty in embracing their role as a stay-at-home boss mom. www.instagram.com/unexpectedexpectations www.facebook.com/unexpectedexpectations

Ep26 The Use of Astrology in Understanding Trauma and Purpose with Jeremy Tan
Jeremy Tan has always been into Astrology as a child and has taken the leap to become a full-time Astrologer and Purpose Coach since the start of the year. His process starts off with reading one’s natal chart and connects this with ongoing patterns in one’s life. Should trauma show up, he conducts a trauma release session or a Trauma-Informed Perspective (e.g. where did the feeling of being unloved come from?) What’s different from just this process is his philosophy of also replacing it with purpose. He shares that he was inspired by his own experience from his own trauma, that now he has found newfound direction in helping others as well to letting go, learning from it, and even anchoring on purpose. He reminds us that there we are a work-in-progress, constantly healing, and that “the middle ground is life.” We can always regulate and center ourselves in order to stay the course of our purpose. When we share our stories, we make it a safe space to be more open about their own stories as well and we find healing when we start to acknowledge it too. Ep25 Roanna Medina on Autoimmune Disease and Living the Life She Wants
Sage Conversations co-host, Functional Medicine Health Coach Roanna Medina shares her experience on being diagnosed with a toxic thyroid and Hashimoto's Autoimmune Disease in the years of 2013 and 2016, respectively. She went through medication as prescribed by her doctor, but deep down she was convinced that she could not live a life being too dependent on these for the rest of her life. She was determined to “break free” and to fully control her body after years of not being able to. Roanna tells us that we all have the ability to create better health by vision-setting and taking small aligned actions, and encourages us to get to the root of our challenges to be best equipped in dealing with them. Finally, she reminds that there’s always hope. Through her example, she shows us that we can all break-free and heal from stress, discomfort and dis-ease, and live the life that we want for ourselves. www.instagram.com/roannamedina www.thehealthyrow.com

Ep24 Celebrating Trans Identity with Mela Franco Habijan
Mela Habijan, or popularly known as Miss Mela, aims to fulfill her mission to always “live life with a purpose.” She joins us on this episode as she shares her journey of embracing being a Filipino transgender woman, fully celebrating her identiy and all of the LGTBQIA community as well. She acknowledges being empowered by other trans sisters, which she finds herself doing so now too in a place of having a powerful voice in her different advocacies and now being the first ever Miss Trans Global for the year 2020. We learn that while hers was a 3-year identity crisis where she was wrapped up in fear of not being able to fulfil her dreams, in hindsight she feels that with this fear came belittling and denying her identity (listen in on how this ended!). It may be shorter or longer for others, but she wisely encourages that “it is okay to go through that crisis, that pain, because it is part of the process.” In time, one would regain the journey and come out of it even stronger. Today, she is able to truly say that “her being trans is right, her being trans is a gift.” She is whole. Ep23 Dispelling Bipolar Disorder with Dani de Castro
Dani de Castro was 27 years old when she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and felt how being put in a psych ward for some days was a humbling experience for her. Today, six years later, she shares with us her experience from finally naming what “it” was that was “wrong” with her to being able to live a more balanced life now, and even finding love during the pandemic and with a partner who understands and supports her. It is admirable how she approached this time in her life with so much love and courage, also seeing it as a curious challenge rather than a pure setback. She has been very open about her disorder and she finds that this is her way of helping others to seek out for help, too. In this episode, we also hear about how it is best to deal with it as someone who may be going through mental illness, or as a loved one or close circle who may know someone who is: They just need to feel supported, understood, seen, and heard. https://www.facebook.com/purplephishfood https://www.instagram.com/purplephishfood/ https://www.youtube.com/user/purplephishfood

Ep22 Wake Up with Gratitude with Julie Boyer
We often hear about the attitude of gratitude - perhaps you’re already well on your way in this practice, or you have yet to open up to it. Nonetheless, this episode gives a fresh take to it! Julie Boyer, host of the podcast Wake Up with Gratitude, a three-time Amazon Best-Selling Author, four-time entrepreneur and three-time Ironman finisher, joins us and shares more about the story behind the podcast, her books and brand. She shares with us the practice, and even teaches us the secret sauce of having gratitude with intention. We learn from her that we can be grateful for things that are also not working, and that gratitude and grief can live at the same time. It’s far from toxic positivity, but one can go through grief during a challenging time and still find something that one can be grateful for. Her advice is to start practicing TODAY, when things are going great or not great, and build the practice over time. Her own traumatic experiences and how she coped with them truly show the power of being grateful, everyday, even or more so when it hurts. Ep21 Taking Tiny Steps For Animals and the Earth with Brandy Montague
When they say we all have a purpose, it is quite true, and Brandy Montague’s story is no exception. In her particular case, she found it earlier (at the age of three!) and stayed on this path where she continues to strive to make a difference. She says that having grown up in a rural farm community definitely had “a huge influence on her to help animals for the rest of her life.” In this episode, she shares the different points in her life that have led to founding For Animals. For Earth., a platform for animal and environmental activism. Animal lovers are also in for a treat as Brandy shares a technique of Animal Reiki for communicating with animals! Not only that, we thought this could be helpful for anyone who’s just started or in the middle or finding a new purpose, to hear from someone like Brandy who encourages us to “take a tiny step, one little thing at a time” and we’ll see how everything snowballs from there. Ep20 How Small Actions Could Save the World
Phaiy Supersuntorn is a Sustainability and Climate Change consultant and passion worker. On her day to day for over a decade now, she helps companies big and small alike on how they can lessen their carbon footprint. She says that she’s seen changes in the way big corporations think or consider these issues, but of course there is still much more to be done. Through Phaiy we learn about the importance of localizing an issue and not always settling for “what works in one place” would work or be what’s prioritized in another. All in all what’s important is how each one of us is doing something, even just a little thing, to make our planet a better place. As always, our own little actions can and will go a long way. Her podcasts dedicated to Thai people have now more than a year’s worth of episodes, putting out educational content or anything she’s learned or picked up with her job. She trusts that one day, it would be a good source of information for them. Phaiy's Podcast & Blog - www.sossustainability101.com

Ep19 Celine Veloso on Reiki Principles for Coping During Uncertain Times
“By being generous, compassionate, kind, - [it] is the highest form of frequency that we can give to the Universe. If we want to resonate with the highest levels of frequencies, we start with Love.” Reiki Master Celine Veloso shares on this episode the Five Reiki Principles - spiritual ideals that can help us cope with difficult times or even have as a very good daily meditative practice: “Just for today, I will not be angry.” Not that we cannot be angry, but called to not hold on to anger. “Just for today I will not worry.” It reminds us to give space to trust and surrender to source, going back to faith. “Just for today, I will be grateful.” It allows us to shift perspective when there is chaos and uncertainty. Hold on to something good. There are endless things to be grateful for. “Just for today, do what you are meant to do.” Just take action and do work earnestly. Or just show up. “Just for today, I will be kind to others.” The principle of love - do what to others what you want them to do unto you. “JUST FOR TODAY” is also where we can be more forgiving of ourselves, where we can focus on the next 24 hours. If for some reason we were not able to do any or all, tomorrow is another day and we can try again. Stay tuned til the end for a wonderful Reiki meditation from Celine. Ep18 Valerie Fischer on How Losing Her Dream Job Led to Her Purpose
Valerie Fischer shares with us how she lost her dream job during the pandemic, but believing that “rejection is a redirection,” it’s also what led her to finding her life purpose: “inspire courage to create change.” As a Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner, she combines this tool in helping her clients have a growth mindset and to apply what she has coined the Brain Science Selling. In this path she is able to combine the techniques of NLP, her 20 years of advertising and marketing, and background in ecommerce, to bring value to her clients and their customers. In finding her path, she touches on how she’s picked up books and also looked inward. What helped her was knowing her own skills and strengths and that it’s something we all can do and evaluate. “There’s always something in you that you’d just have to sit still and listen and it goes back to what you really wanted as a child.” We invite you to listen in on this conversation that could bring you to listen to your inner child as well! Valerie reminds us that [our] story is our best strategy, it’s the only way we’ll be able to stand out in the crowd. So use that heartbreak, that rejection, and of course the triumphs to bounce back - it’s all part of the story. https://valeriepfischer.kartra.com/page/ebook  https://www.facebook.com/valeriepfischer https://valeriefischer.net

Ep17 Nick Daez on Being a Teacher and a Student of Kundalini Yoga
At Sage Conversations, we’re always curious about how people land on their chosen paths and modalities. Oftentimes, we find that it’s really the path finding us. For Nick Daez, it is Kundalini Yoga. He has had an enriching experience with it as he immersed in it as a practice years ago, and found it as his purpose to also share with other people what he has found. He feels that while it is difficult, it is also where he reaps the most benefit, physically and mentally. “There’s a palpable shift of energy,” and how it has helped him get through tough times. In this episode, we learn from Nick that Kundalini as a “househoulder’s practice” -  one that’s “not meant to be recluse.” It’s meant to get through the day-to-day things, to be able to face stress, with the main goal being to align you with one’s life’s purpose. Nick shares how for him, he feels that there’s always something bigger and beyond himself. Web: nickdaez.com IG: @nickdaez Podcast: @paliwanagph

Ep16 Jamie Ong on the Four Pillars of Manifestation Pt 2
We’ve heard about the first two Pillars of Manifestation in our 15th episode: Feelings and Actions. In this second part with Mindset and Manifestation Coach and The White Walls Podcaster Jamie Ong, we talk about the other two: Releasing, and Resting and Having Gratitude. When we manifest, it’s not about holding on to “what we want,” but a huge part is actually about letting it go, “releasing the attachment” and trusting that what will happen is for the highest and best. Jamie says not to be too “tunnel-visioned” because it could come in another form that we had initially thought it would. Resting and gratitude are often most missed when we manifest, especially coming from a place of lack. Jamie points out that “Our energy does what our actions cannot, and our energy can help us amplify what actions we’ve already taken.” It actually often happens when we’re resting! It is when we can create space for our desires to just come. The key thing to help create that energy of being a magnet or space to attract is instead of thinking of the worst case scenario, we could instead ask “what might be the best case scenario for me at this moment.” Join Jamie's FREE Masterclass: https://www.thewhitewallsglobal.com/the-manifestation-equation www.thewhitewallsglobal.com https://www.instagram.com/the.whitewalls/

Ep15 Jamie Ong on the Four Pillars of Manifestation Pt 1
Mindset and Manifestation Coach and The White Walls Podcaster Jamie Ong graces us in this episode, joining from Singapore. She shares about her shift from realizing that she had a limiting belief of “not being good enough,” that prompted her to start her inner work journey and shift to where she is today: helping other clients also find their path and helping them how to use manifestation as a tool. And what IS manifestation? Rediscover it here in this episode and know more about it - it’s not as “woo” as we perceive it as - it’s actually a lot more about mindset and perception! In this first part, we tackle a lot of real stories or examples around negative/limiting beliefs around money, worthiness issues, that would block what we really want in life. We then dive into the four pillars of manifestation 1) Feelings 2) Actions 3) Releasing and 4) Resting and Having Gratitude. Jamie shares a lot of digestible examples that could get us going into our own manifestation practice. Ep14 Cy Sazon on Being Her Best Self One Day at a Time
We start the second season with a good friend and mompreneur, Cy Sazon, who shares her postpartum depression/experience after her most recent pregnancy in 2020 during the COVID19 pandemic. She recalls reaching the point of being unable to look at herself in the mirror and feeling “disgusted.” But all it took was an inner shift (and of course, huge support from her husband and family) to choose a positive mindset telling herself that “her kids deserved a happy, strong mom.” Having identified at an early age that being a good mother and wife was how she wanted to be remembered and already a dream in itself, this urged her to get up in the morning and dedicate time for herself, to commit to being her best self one day at a time. She advises to listen to our bodies - what to eat, when to rest - and to be more intentional with what we do. Most importantly, she emphasizes how it’s definitely okay for us to ask for help and never to be ashamed or afraid of it. She gives quite a unique and easy-to-understand definition of it as well, tapping the different phases: our search for success, for life balance, and for a higher purpose or meaning.  She shares about her own feeling of “meaninglessness” at some point that prompted her on her own search - this psychospiritual condition that her mentor Master Del Pe calls the Dark Night of the Soul syndrome which is most often felt when our soul tries to send a message to prompt us to take the next step or leap in our own Divine Timing towards development and enlightenment.  We explore finding the balance between yearning for growth and contentment, the practice of detachment, and always asking “what lesson am I supposed to learn here?” Lesley gives us a few tools and guidance through a Synchronized Breathing Meditation that we can use anytime of the day to keep our centers in check! facebook.com/BEinshape.lesley wilgaglobal.com masterdelpe.com

Ep7 Questions for Increasing Closeness
With the intention to build a Sage Conversations community and a level of closeness with our listeners, hosts Michiko and Roanna wanted to explore a different format where they get to share more about themselves. Inspired by the study of psychologists, Drs. Arthur and Elaine Aron, they go through a set of the 36 Questions for Increasing Closeness (also known as the “Questions that Lead to Love”). They recognize how this exercise has brought certain things out to light that they might not have thought of or said out loud had they not been posed these questions. We hope that this episode inspires you to sit down and take time as well to get to know yourself, a loved one, or a total stranger and let yourself be open and vulnerable.

Ep1 Unpack your Brief-Case: The Wellness Journey with Gisa Paredes & April Ong Vaño
For this first episode of Sage Conversations, we reached out to psychologist and Healing Minds Founder Gisa Paredes and Collabox founder April Ong Vaño, having a similar mission as our podcast and with their recent project My Soul Brief-Case that aims to empower the inner healer within.  Gisa and April share with us what led them to this tool - a brief-case - as it is meant to be utilized even in our daily encounters whether internal or external, as individuals or even used in groups - in order to help us dig and dig deep. We learn from them that the step to wellness is self-awareness - which can especially be daunting, but they remind us that we can attain this by taking time to connect and listen - to our body, our mind, and our soul.  Where do we start? How do we start? How do we avoid spiraling down? Their collaboration in a physical box contains cards with images and sentence stems which are meant to help discover ourselves.  It’s a must for all of us to develop our self-awareness, so that we may understand our changing values, our strengths and weaknesses, what makes us tick, and where we would focus our energy on. Having high self-awareness enables us to build on our positive qualities and let go of traits and beliefs that no longer serve us.
