In episode 240 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about the improvements in Principal propgation.
Almost 2 years ago, in 2023, Microsoft kicked off the Secure Future Initiative. This meant that litterally all the services within Microsoft went through a security review and were hardend. While this certainly improved security, it also made a lot of scenario much more complicated. Where in the past you could connect to a service using basic authentication or with a simple certificate, that is no longer possible. Martin -- always looking at the positive side -- recently talked about how the "Secure Future Initiative" blocker became a differentiator for SAP with Microsoft -- and I love this. With the work that Martin and the team did we now have a really cool, secure and much easier to maintain solution to do principal propagation.
I am glad that we have Martin back on our show to explain a little more about the magic that he did.

Last week we heard from CJ about a cool usage for the office of the CFO, combining Semantic Kernel, Azure AI Agents and Code Interpreter. This time we have also a known guest with us: Amit Lal. In episode 235 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about DSAG TechXChange 2025. We are recording this session on Tuesday. Next Friday (so actually one day before we publish this video), we have 5 different hands-on labs at the DSAG TechXChange 2025 event. You might ask: well, why do I care? I am not even attending? In episode 215 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about Azure NetApp Files. WIth the new Extension 1, ANF supports availability zone volume placement as the new default method for placement. This upgrade mitigates the need for AVset pinning and eliminates the need for proximity placement groups. Using availability zone volume placement aligns with the Microsoft recommendation on how to deploy SAP HANA infrastructures to achieve best performance with high-availability, maximum flexibility, and simplified deployment. In episode 210 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about 32 TB Virtual machines on Azure!
Recently we talked about the release of virtual machines with 32 TB of memory on Azure. This allows you to run the most high demanding SAP workload on Azure. With some innovations it takes some time to be adopoted, but apparently with the 32 TB system, that was not the case.

Sentinel for SAP has been around for quite some time now. It is even certified for RISE with SAP and we see a lot of interest by customers in the additional protection that Sentinel can provide for their SAP system.
Speaking of SAP Systems - a lot of customers are using the SAP Business Technology Platform, to leverage Integration Suite, SAP Fiori or SAP Build services and of course also AI core services. Just a few weeks back the Microsoft Sentinel for SAP BTP solution went also General Availability, which means that now you can also detect attacks on BTP with Sentinel.

In episode 205 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we take a look behind the scene of the Copilot Studio and SAP integration we showed in previous episodes.
This session is special for me on multiple fronts: for one our guest, Noopur Vaishnav has been on the show the first time about a year ago. At that time she was a new intern at Microsoft. In the meantime, quite a few things have changed. Noopur is now working as a full time employee at Microsoft and we were lucky to get her back in our team. The other cool thing is that Noopur has continued to work on Copilots and SAP. In episode 203 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about  SAP IDM and Entra ID.
A few months ago SAP had announced the End-of-Maintenance of the SAP Identity Management (SAP IDM) solution in 2027 or 2030 with Extended maintenance. This announcement resulted in a lot of feedback from customer and Michael Friedrich from SAP stated in a blogpost that Microsoft and SAP are actively collaborating to develop guidance that enables customers to migrate their identity management scenarios from SAP Identity Management to Microsoft Entra ID.
Since then we have been very busy. We not only worked closely together, but we also reached out to DSAG and ask the IDM community for help and advice.
To tell you a little about what we have been doing, where we are and what's going to happen in the next months I am gload to have Jannis Rondorf, the head of the SAP IDM working group at DSAG, Chris Radkowski from SAP and two Microsoft colleagues Mark Wahl and Martin Raepple with us.

In episode 202 of our SAP on Azure video podcast we talk about  Copilot and SAP.
In our last episode we talked about the native integration of Microsoft Copilot in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition and how SAP is shipping out of the box content that customers can use right away. We had also talked about the SAP Joule and Microsoft Copilot integration that Christian Klein announced during Sapphire. Both of these scenarios are fantastic and help customers to immediately get started.
However, we also know that customer often need very specific, very unique integration -- obviously also with Copilot. That's where you might want to develop your own scenarios. With the Copilot SDK for Visual Studio Code or even better with Copilot Studio creating your own Copilot integration is easier than ever.
To give us an overview of the different options how customers and partners can leverage Copilot in the context of SAP, I am really glad to have Robert Hernandez with us today.
