Part 3 of our Math extended podcast features Dr. Susan Gerofsky, Dr. Cynthia Nicol, and Dr. Lorrie Miller giving their perspectives on interdisciplinary Learning and teaching in math
You can find examples of creative and aesthetic experiences, involving building and design, to provide openings for students to engage with complex mathematical concepts such as the hyperbolic plane, fractals, and patterns. You will also listen to disruptive ideas regarding re-designing math classrooms, decolonizing the curriculum, and critically thinking of the “why´s” and “how´s” when applying math.

In this episode, we feature Dr. Lorrie Miller and Dr. Kerry Renwick explaining and providing examples on how to work with students around topics like the sourcing of fibers, string making, and fabrics, followed by exploring the process of dyeing, transporting, manufacturing and wearing.

Learning about and through Food
