“ the resurrection of Christ within you”
Defending my mental health
My thoughts change my life
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
My routine is killing me
Have an awesome day on purpose
Christ is the answer for me. Amen
Today I mention were I get my spiritual strength. Out of every thing that I have learned from years of seeking Gods will Christ is the answer. I rely on him with all my heart every day and it gives me a scene of peace that use to be unattainable on a constant path. The only reason that I mention this today is because it is the most important piece of having a great life here on earth. I can not find anything more important than seeking Gods will first. I am enjoying my life more today than ever before.
I continually find purpose by broad casting the message of hope for those that suffer which includes my self at times. Knowledge is key to finding new truths that help me to build myself up when I fall down. That is the joy, I need and not to stay down ,and can spring back up when necessary. I was told that depression is a gift. I talk about this more in my book "Kicking depression in the ass" subtitle "The Rocky road to Recovery" by Scott Coons which is on Amazon. The true gift is that it is a wake up call . When there is a storm brewing in our head its time to take notice on what the real issues that are going on in our lives. That is were the tools given in these episodes come into play. Thank you for listening and God bless

Final episodes of Steps 7-12
this is part of a series of steps 1-12. Here I elaborate on steps 7-12. I have talked about the first 6 on previous videos. Using these 12 steps has created an awesome life for me. There is a workbook coming out in July 23, which can be very helpful. Finding a way of living in my own skin without using drugs and alcohol was crucial to have a happier and more fulfilling life.
These steps originated in AA, but are applied to "Kicking Depression in the Ass" & depression recovery. There's no such thing as perfection in any of these steps, it's about showing up & trying.
My challenge to anyone is to get a good understanding of these steps and try to focus on them for the next 30 days. We can create or break a habit in 30 days. Opening the door to a new understanding and applying them to my life was the starting point for a new life. I also find it very helpful to journal about your journey as you go along.
You're not alone, & it is possible to find a way out of the darkness - We're in this together!

Taking the 5th step
In my previous episodes
I have gone over the first 4 steps. This is a part of a series of going over the 12 steps that are used in a program of recovery. I share my own experience strength and hope with you. These are available on youtube as well. For me growing in the understanding of these steps and implementing them into my life has helped me with overcoming depression and other debilitating illnesses such as alcoholism. I talk about in other episodes about other topics but felt it was important to spend these 12 weeks going over them in more detail and the right order for me. These steps have been produced in AA literature
and further study is available through AA. It is only the first step in that refer to alcohol. The remaining 11 are for creating a conscious contact with a higher power of your own understanding. If you are agnostic or atheist you can google the 12 steps for that as well. So these steps are good for everyone. The material in my podcast are only of my own experiences of dealing with depression. If you would like to learn more you can purchase my book "Kicking depression in the Ass subtitle; The Rocky road to recovery by Scott Coons" on Amazon or go to my facebook page. This is part of a series of steps 1-12. Each week I cover a step and todays is, STEP 4. "Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves."These steps originated
in AA but are applied to "kicking depression in the Ass" My challenge to anyone is to get a good understanding of these steps try focusing on them for the next 30 days. We can create or break a habit in 30 days. Opening the door to a new understanding and by applying them to my life was the starting point for a new life. I find it very helpful to journal about your journey as you go along.
Step 3 ,making a decision
I have been working on creating episodes for each of the 12 steps for recovery of depression as we know it. Making a decision to turn our lives over to the care of God of our own understanding. was one of the best decisions I have ever made. All that is required is making a decision today to open the door to asking for guidance . Keep it simple.
You can check out my book "kicking depression in the ass/the rocky road to recovery" on Amazon. I encourage you to listen to all of the steps 1-12 on the podcast in order. Journaling your progress is a very effective tool. For myself writing helps to pull the thoughts out of my head and makes them more solid on paper. Creating new habits can be accomplished in 30 days if you so desire. Good luck on your journey of defeating depression. My experience of using these steps along with other key components that I share in other episodes has changed my life forever. I have a new lease on life to be more creative and having more purpose in my life. Buying the book helps with operating expenses and would be appreciated. I want to say thank you to those that have all ready purchased a copy. Have an awesome day on purpose.
Step 2 : of the 12steps of recovery from Depression.
This is step two of the 12 steps to recovery from Depression. "Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity" These steps were created through Dr Bob and Bill Wilson for a step by step recovery from alcoholism. In these episodes I relate them too recovery from depression. The first step is the only one relating to what the vise is. All the remaining 12 are for creating a spiritual path of our own understanding to be recovered. Depression is the topic I use to teach about and not from AA approved literature . I hope you follow along with these steps. Having a journal to make notes is very helpful. After creating my own understanding it is easy for me too relate back to any one of these when I need to depending on what is going on with my life today. To learn more about my own story you can purchase on Amazon my book "Kicking depression in the ass"the rocky road to recovery by Scott Coons. Working the steps,Step One
I am talking about or referring
to step one from the 12 steps of alcoholics anonymous. These steps
were created by Dr.Bob and Bill Wilson for AA. Some of which were were taken from the Oxford group to help Christians
on their walk with Christ. So these steps are helpful
for everyone. I want to discuss
each one separately
1-12 to the best of my own understanding after years of reflecting on them through out my own life.My recommendation
is to grab a note book and write each one down and write a paragraph on what they mean to you. If you would like to hear more about my own journey you can purchase my book on Amazon "Kicking depression in the Ass and the rocky road to Recovery"by Scott Coons Thank you,Have an awesome day on purpose.
