Stephen is a BC4 boccia player with a collection of accolades to match. After discovering the sport Stephen was thrown right in the deep end and attended competitions to represent his country from the get go. The excitement was also enough to attract attention from his brother Peter who would go on to join Stephen in doubles, a partnership that would later bring success for them both.

In today’s episode we will be speaking to Robyn Love. Robyn is a 3.5 wheelchair basketball player who has represented GB at a Paralympic level. After discovering the sport through a friend at university Robyn started her journey of discovery and success. We’ll be discussing everything from Robyn’s time growing up in a main stream school, how a post pandemic recovery could help the sports popularity moving forward and everything in between.

In today’s episode we will be speaking to Stephen Clegg. Stephen is a S12 Swimmer who performs in Freestyle, Backstroke and most notably Butterfly events. Stephen has had a visual impairment from a young age which resulted in him discovering his passion of swimming through after class events at the Edinburgh Royal Blind School. This pared with his families past successes in disabled sports through his brother James and Sister Libby lined him up for success of his own.

We will be discussing everything from the rehabilitation process that preceded her operation and how her life changed for the better, to her switch in sports from swimming to kayaking and her ambitions in the future.

In today’s episode we will be speaking to Hope Gordon. Hope is a KL3 200m Kayaker who had a selective above knee amputation in 2016. Hope grew up in Rogart in a remote area of the highlands and after being diagnosed with CRPS at the age of 12 she has undergone an incredible journey which included her crowd funded amputation, learning how to live with her new lease of life after the operation and her switch from swimming to kayaking in the more recent years.

Since the age of 14 when she got classified and was able to compete she has been right at the forefront of Scottish parasports and over the years she has swooped medals at every event she's attended. We talk about her experiences with travelling abroad at young ages, breaking world records at 14 and her struggle with mental health. All that and more on this episode of PARACAST.
