I love the movies series The Terminator. At the time of its release it was wildly implausible but with technology today, it seems much likely to become reality. Predicting the future is very difficult and fraught with many twists and turns that make it virtually impossible. Much has made about AI and what it holds for our future. I think I can say with great confidence, that AI will be a huge driver of our productivity and standard of living in the future, but there are potential risks that AI develops in a way that it carries out its own goals irrespective of what the human race desire. This is potentially a very dangerous blind spot that we have and will need address sooner rather than later.

Anyone with eyes could see that President Joe Biden was suffering with some sort of mental decline. We were assured that he was healthy, had comprehensive physical examinations by doctors, and was cleared for active duty time and time again. We also know that a special council refused to prosecute him for corruption crimes because he is, "Well-meaning elderly man with a poor memory." These facts point to a cabal of staffers that were purposefully concealing his declining health from the public, likely criminally so. I know the title of this episode seems like an exaggeration and there will be much more testing but it's really difficult to be surprised by this news given what we knew about the mRNA technology. I feel like I have been fighting against climate change narrative forever and I really thought it would just run out of steam. Geoengineering, however, really has me worried because there are only bad outcomes that could come from it. The people of the United States were locked into a trajectory that would ultimately collapse in failure, why? The answer could explained this way. If not, the people won't support it and it wouldn't last long enough to pass on to future generation to carry on the deception. But these schemes always collapse in failure because they are man's attempt to evade reality. To escape the discipline that life naturally imposes on human beings. As Bastiat said, the LAW is perverted so that the few can plunder the many. The problem is that we ended up promoting democracy where everybody votes and now everybody plunders everybody. It's all an attempt to escape the inevitable. There is no free lunch and man must provide for himself and his family. WE have let collectivism and guilt get the best of us and it is coming to a rapid end.

From an economic point of view, there is no good that could come from actually implementing protective tariffs. The key word being PROTECTIVE. Simply put tariffs increased the cost of goods to those who are purchasing them. If the cost of purchasing something increases, you are left with fewer resources to purchase additional goods. Trump, however, has figured out a way to get Mexico to put 10,000 of it's troops on our southern border to stop the flow of illegal immigration. So, from an immigration perspective, tariffs seems to work. We are living in crazy times!!!!!

There is a Chinese proverb that says, "May you live in interesting times." Well, we are certainly living in interesting times. Maybe not since FDR have we been on a path where such sweeping changes seem to be on the horizon. Birthright citizenship has been the law of the land since 1898, but could it be that the court was wrong in its understanding of the 14th Amendment? The short answer is yes but we'll have to wait and see. This could be a situation where the court overturns a longstanding, landmark ruling where it essentially the clause "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" applied only to sovereigns and diplomats. I think, however, today's court will say that this ruling is absurd and leads to nonsensical immigration policy. It's going to make the liberal pundits heads explode! I can't wait to see it!
