Dave's been busy on the interview front ahead of this weekend's women's Scottish Cup semi finals at Hampden between Celtic and Rangers, and Hearts and Spartans. Although none of our guests are directly involved in the semis, each of them give their thoughts on what could happen and who might be back at Hampden for the final next month.

First up we have Clare Docherty, Head of Ayr United's woman's and girl's academy, on the club's SWPL2 aspirations and ambitions following their securing of a playoff spot in the SW Championship earlier this month.

Next we have Craig Joyce, Head Coach of the newly crowned SWPL2 champions Queen's Park, on what that achievement means and what the club might be able to achieve in SWPL1 next season.

Finally we have Robert Watson, manager of Hamilton Accies, ahead of their chance to play Dundee United at Tannadice this weekend. He also gives us his thoughts on the inspiration of Megan Quinn, who hit 200 appearances the club recently.

John, Charlie, Erin and Laurie are joined by returning guest Graeme as we reflect on the Scottish Cup semis that took place over the weekend.

We kick off by looking at the game on Saturday where Aberdeen took Celtic all the way in an enthralling contest that could have gone either way. They key moments are discussed with there being plenty of them to digest.

Graeme gives us his view on the other semi which took place with his thoughts on team selection, missed chances and more.

Anyway, enough about these losers, John B talks to Scotland Cerebral Palsy head coach Billy McAdam after they won the World Championship by beating Northern Ireland 4-0. Congratulations again on a tremendous achievement.

Now that the top six and bottom six has been decided in the Premiership we discuss fixtures, predictions for the rest of the season and put together a best eleven from both where the criteria is maximum of two players from each club.

Our latest podcast focuses on the Scottish Cup semi finals due to take place this upcoming weekend.

John hosts with regulars Erin and Charlie joining him along with guests Andy, Graeme and Michael.

We kick off by getting Charlie's view on the Edinburgh derby that took place on Friday night. This leads in to our very own Chas and Dave segment which features interviews with Hearts head coach Eva Olid and goalscorer Megan Bell who is on loan at Hearts from Rangers.

Erin and Michael give their thoughts on Saturday's semi between Aberdeen and Celtic with some thoughts on selection issues plus we have our first draft of the night.

Moving on to Sunday, Andy and Graeme give their thoughts on how the game will go and there is another draft to enjoy.

Nick Montgomery's future at Hibs has come under scrutiny recently so Charlie gives his own thoughts on what might be the best way forward.

Good luck to Scotland's cerebral palsy team on Thursday in the World Championship final.

John is joined by Katie, Heather, Ali, Andy, Adam and Robert for out latest Championship special as the we edge closer to the end of the season.

We kick off with discussion around whether there is still a title race after Dundee United beat Raith at the weekend. This leads on to some discussion around who everyone would fancy if they are to reach the Premiership Playoff final.

There is chat around who will make the playoffs with a good few teams being in the fix. Adam gives us an insight in to why Dunfermline's recent form has been so good.

After Rangers 4-1 victory over Partick Thistle at Tynecastle to pick up the first silverware of the women's season in the Sky Sports Cup final, Dave is joined by Eva Murray to review how the game went.

Some great goals, some great saves (despite what some on social media might think), and another new record crowd for the SWPL Cup final enjoying all the action in the sunshine.

Following Dave's chat with Eva, he's joined by John for a quick interview at Tynecastle with vlogger Sam North, before we finish up with the post-match press conference featuring Rangers manager Jo Potter, Partick Thistle manager Brian Graham, Partick Thistle player Cara Henderson, and Rangers players Mia Macaulay and Rio Hardy.

An absolute treat in store for our latest episode as author and broadcaster Billy Kay joins some of the regulars on the podcast. 

John, Charlie, Josh, Krys and Scott J are on as we reflect on Scotland's friendly against Netherlands and look ahead to our friendly against Northern Ireland. There is chat about selection issues as we get close to Euro 2024 and our recent form.

Billy shares with us some stories of going to World Cups in the past watching Scotland with him being lucky enough to go to three tournaments in the 70s and 80s. He talks about his first Scotland game and being fortunate enough to see us defeat the auld enemy on a few occasions.

We're privileged to hear billy read out a passage from the chapter, 'Valley Boays' from his book, 'Born in Kyle' which came out towards end of 2023.

There is also some chat about how he became a Dundee United fan including derby day moments, European games and his thoughts on the current title race.

The podcast concludes with some fun questions and one of best stories ever shared on the podcast about how an icon of the game took a fancy to one of his daughters.

It's cup final week as the first major honour of the women's season will be handed out this Sunday at Tynecastle. Despite being in Edinburgh, it's a Glasgow derby as Partick Thistle will take on the current holders of the trophy Rangers.

So with that in mind, we have three interviews ahead of the game. First, Dave caught up with former Rangers captain Clare Gemmell for her thoughts on what lies ahead, before speaking with Partick Thistle fan and matchday programme editor Tom Hosie for the Thistle side of things. In between those two interviews, John catches up with the Managing Director of the SWPL, Fiona McIntyre.

Regulars John, Charlie, Erin and Laurie are on this week and joined by Mark Poole to talk about his book, '99 Iconic Moments in Scottish Football' which came out in October 2023.

Mark gives us an insight in to the book and chats about some of the moments that never made the final edit.

There is chat about some of the chapters in the book with one giving a good laugh as we discuss what Scottish teams would be called if they adopted American sports name titles.

Everyone shares their own iconic moments in Scottish football from the ridiculous to the sublime with contributions from friends of the podcast too.

We finish off with some fun questions including our Desert Island Dicks feature.

In a different focus on women's football, Dave caught up with Glasgow Caledonian University's Professor Fiona Skillen.

While most of our focus on this podcast so far has been on the current developments in the SWPL or with the women's Scottish National Team, Professor Skillen was named BBC Woman Expert in 2014 for her research on women's sport history.

As well as discussing Fiona's own work, we go into detail of some key areas of the history of women's football in Scotland. From wartime football, to Rutherglen Ladies, to the only country to turn down women's football in the 1970s, as well as some upcoming books, there's more than a few topics covered that might help shine a light on some of the challenges that the game still faces today.

Ross from County Corner joins John and Josh for our latest fans special as he gives us his story of being a Ross County fan.

We begin with him chatting about how he became a fan of the club, early memories and favourite players while growing up.

There is chat about cup finals over the years including success in League Cup final of 2016 where they defeated Hibs.

Other memories are shared from success climbing the leagues and of being a ball boy growing up.

Ross speaks about the rivalry with Inverness and how he has missed the fixture. we find out too how Premiership playoff final last season ranks compared to winning 2015/16 League Cup.

We round off by getting Ross to pick a best eleven from his time supporting the club and some fun questions.

Dave hosts another busy women's football podcast as he's joined by SFF regular Charlie, regular guest Eva, former Rangers captain Clare, Dundee United head coach Graeme, and Jessica from The Celtic Star to look back at all the latest SWPL action following the winter break.

We jump straight in with post-match reaction from Sunday's derby at Ibrox which saw Celtic and Rangers share the points and maintain the hosts unbeaten record and four point lead at the top of the table. There's chat around what Celtic would have to do in the remainder of the season to have any chance of catching Rangers.

There's obviously discussion about the fall out from the away ticket issue that unfortunately preceded the game and what that might mean for the growth of the women's game in Scotland.

At the other end of the table, unfortunately for Graeme, there's talk of who might go down with the bottom three all level on points and even fourth and fifth bottom being three and six points ahead. The race for fourth also seems just as tight with just one point separating three teams.

With the Pinatar Cup on the horizon this weekend, there's also discussion around who is and isn't in the latest Scotland squad as well as Scotland's chances in the tournament along with Finland, Philippines and Slovenia.

This week we have our latest Championship special as John is joined by fans from some of the clubs in the league. Adam, Ali, Andy, Heather, Katie and Robert all return to chat about the most exciting league in Scotland.

We kick off with discussion around why Dunfermline are struggling and if they can avoid the position they are currently in. 

The top of the table clash on Friday is discussed with regards to what it means in terms of a title race and who will end up winning the league.

There are questions throughout for our guests about the playoffs, how teams might manage if they get promoted and Dougie Imrie's impact at Morton.

We discuss who might get dragged in to the mix for the relegation playoff and if any teams need to look over their shoulders in terms of Premiership playoffs.

The two John's and Josh are joined by author Tom Brogan who makes his second appearance on the podcast.

Tom speaks to us about his latest book 'Scotland 101: An Introduction to The National Team' which contains chapters on unforgettable Scotland moments, players and much more. He gives an insight in to how the book came about, some of the research, his own favourite chapters and players who feature.

We discuss Scotland moments that should be put in Room 101 and some of our favourite memories of following the national team.

On Thursday the draw for the Nations League takes place so we all give our preferences on who we would like to get in our group. It's exciting times to be a Scotland fan as we consider where this current squad compares to other successful periods in the history of the Scotland team.

John and Josh are joined by Laurie who returns fresh off a couple of appearances on the show, Martin from The Killie View Podcast (@KFCView) and debutant Jordan who is the Charity Manager at Kilmarnock Community Trust.

To kick off, Jordan gives us an insight in to his role at the club in terms of what they do and how they engage with fans in the community. Laurie and Martin share their own stories of how they have got involved with the positive work happening off the field.

The SWPL season recommences this weekend, and ahead of the restart John B is joined by fellow regular Vinny, regular contributor to our Women's Football specials Eva Murray, and Jerry Taylor from A Celtic State of Mind podcast.

Glasgow City have had a difficult season so far, has their grip on the title gone? Jerry gives an insight into the tough decision made by Fran Alonso to leave Celtic midway through the campaign, how will they cope with that loss and will Rangers continue to motor on under Jo Potter. We also discuss a fascinating battle between Hearts, Hibernian and Partick Thistle for fourth place and the upcoming Sky Sports Cup Semi Finals - Celtic v Rangers and Partick Thistle v Hibernian - for a place in the Final at Tynecastle on 25 March.

We then move onto the battle at the bottom. Can Hamilton haul themselves back into contention to survive? How will Spartans fair with Debbi McCulloch no longer at the helm? Callum's book "Behind the Curtain of the Beautiful Game" is a series of short stories from some of the biggest names in football sharing their tales of their respective experiences, from players and managers, through pundits and broadcasters, to referees and fans. It is a unique insight into what makes the beautiful game, and all royalties go to the mental health charity Man on Inverclyde, which leads to a great conversation around the importance of mental health.

Donald's book "Back o the Net" in conjunction with Paul Goodwin is a collation of fans stories across 49 clubs in Scotland on how they got involved with their respective clubs and why they mean so much to them. The community aspect is particularly highlighted with Donald telling the story of how he got involved with his local team Ayr United, and even gets the contribution of former Prime Minister Gordon Brown on his experiences following Raith Rovers.

The chat ends with all four giving their 7 aside Scotland teams and where you can buy the books if you're looking for a Christmas gift for someone, or even just something for yourself.

We start by looking back at Rangers v Hearts in the league ahead of their semi final this Sunday. There is chat around how teams are doing so far this season, the pressure that Naismith faces and who might win. 

In the other semi on Saturday there is chat around the recurring excuses that Robson is making while Charlie is pretty confident that Hibs will get the business done.

The guys reflect on some of their favourite memories from League Cup semi finals at Hampden with everyone having some varied experiences.

There is a bit of fun as we come up with a best eleven with rule that a minimum of two players can feature from each side. Fans can not nominate players from their own team though.

We round up by making predictions for each semi and who the potential match winners could be.

Dave's back in the hosting chair once more as we once again as we turn our attention to the women's game ahead of Scotland's double header with the Netherlands in the Nations League. He's joined on the podcast by returning guests Eva and Clare.

Before the international chat though there's the regular look at SWPL1 following a weekend where Rangers went top after ending the 100% record of previous leaders Celtic. They discuss the differences at Rangers that Jo Potter has made this season and wonder if this is just a blip for an otherwise flawless Celtic.

On the other side of the country, Hibernian have been running riot and Hearts appear to be back to their best as well. Meanwhile champions Glasgow City had a disappointing end to their Champions League hopes at the hands of Brann.

Turn to the Nations League, there's the difficult prospect of facing the Dutch without several of our key players which will make a difficult prospect even harder. Finally there's another of the fun cap quizzes to round off the chat.

We're back for our second Championship special and John is lucky enough to be joined by the guests who were on the first one. Katie, Andy, Adam, Robert, Heather and Ali are on to represent some of the clubs in the division.

We kick off with a bit of banter regarding the weekend result between Partick Thistle and Dundee United.

This leads on to everyone giving their views on how the first quarter of the campaign has gone so far with Dundee United the only unbeaten team. There is chat about the box office appeal of having Duncan Ferguson as a manager in the league though the team are not sure how well he will do.

There is discussion about what players have been a surprise so far in the league, best away days so far and some pie chat. John gets everyone to come up with a filling of their choice.

Dave takes up hosting duties once more and is joined by Krys as well as guests Michael, Hazel (or is it Heather...) from Tartan Army Magazine and Tartan Army foot soldier Gordon.

Obviously there's only one top worthy of conversation this week, and that's the achievement of Scotland reaching a second consecutive European Championship. The achievements of Steve Clarke's men across the campaign finally came to fruition despite the defeat in Seville when Norway failed to beat Spain a few days later.

There's an in depth look into all the goings on in Thursday's game against Spain, including a lot of discussion around the refereeing decisions made that night (and not just the disallowed goal from Scott McTominay)

There's also a look back at what everyone thought were the key moments of the campaign as a whole, whilst still thinking ahead to next month's final two games of qualifying that could still yet prove important in deciding which pot Scotland find themselves in for December's draw.

John, Josh and Robbie are joined by returning guest Stephen Reside as we look ahead to the Spain v Scotland game.

Before that though we give Josh an opportunity to reflect on Beale's sacking at Rangers as we discuss potential candidates for the vacant position. 

Excitement is building ahead of Scotland's trip to Seville to play Spain as we look to secure qualification for Euro 2024. The guys are optimistic that the job can be done in what will obviously be a tricky tie. We discuss who will replace Tierney, what formation that Clarke will opt for and who will start up front.

We kick off by discussing how the Scottish teams got on in Europe with their being mixed fortunes. Rangers were the only ones who won but there was an encouraging performance by Aberdeen in Germany.

Something that we've bemoaned for a while is the lack of youngsters getting regular minutes in the Scottish Premiership. In particular we focus on the lack of Scottish youngsters playing regularly in the top flight and discuss why this might be. There is chat about identity, Director of Football role in Scotland and much more.

Robbie guides us through a quick review of Scotland's defeat against England in the Nations League. We discuss the contract given to Pedro Martinez Losa and hopefully a bright future under him.

To round off the show we take a look at the weekend action as St Mirren continue to impress, referees don't and Aberdeen get their first league win of the campaign.

Ahead of the inaugural women's Nations League, Dave is joined by returning guest Eva Murray and freelance journalist Laura Howard from Vavel to look ahead to the opening match for Scotland against the Auld Enemy in Sunderland.

Everyone is in agreement that there was excitement going in to the season and we discuss what fans enjoy most about the first day of a new season. We're all in agreement that laughing at Hibs is always pleasing.

We review the games in the Premiership with Killie grabbing the headlines with their win against Rangers. There are positives too from a Scotland point of view with David Turnbull having a strong start to the season.

There is some fun to be had as we discuss pet hates in football which could probably be a podcast in itself. Cold pies and team lineups being put out in a certain way being a popular theme.

In a new feature, we get everyone to come up with a headline from the games at the weekend with Danny being the winner this week.

To conclude we have quick predictions about how the Scottish teams will do in their first legs this week.

Next Sunday sees the return of the SWPL1 season and John B is joined by regular Dave and guests Chris Marshall and Emma Black. After the dramatic events of "Taxi Sunday", will we see another closely contested title race between Glasgow City, Celtic and Rangers? Will Hearts and Hibs be able to bridge the gap on the top three? Who will be making the top six and scrapping it at the bottom end of the table? It promises to be another enthralling season in the Women's game in Scotland.

Although Scotland aren't there, we couldn't avoid discussing a remarkable World Cup where some big nations like Germany, Canada and Brazil have fallen at the first hurdle, whilst Jamaica, South Africa, Nigeria and Morocco are unlikely names in the last 16. It shows the gap between the bigger nations and the rest is slowly narrowing. We end by talking about our chances of a good Nations League campaign, where there is hope that the Hampden attendance record can be beaten, despite some challenging circumstances.
